[Bug 284915] After quit of K-Mail there is still network traffic created by polling the accounts

2011-10-26 Thread Thomas P
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284915

--- Comment #2 from Thomas P tom_p gmx de  2011-10-26 06:46:21 ---
Ok, this seems to be a new option and I was not aware off.

So I set this option for all accounts now and it fixed the behaviour

However, when starting KDE, but not Kmail, I get requests to kwallet from the
retrevial of the Email accounts. With previous versions of Kmail, Kwallet was
the first time comming up with the frist time E-Mails are polled.

Version:   1.99.0 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS:Linux

when sending a mail where a filter including the feature apply on sent
messages should be applicable does not work.

What is the meaning of the option apply this filter before sending which for
the user does not make sense as all conditions related to a folter are supposed
to be described within the filter rules ?

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
ech time a send a message with a filter including the feature apply on sent
messages tthat should be applicable

Actual Results:
After sending the message is located in folder sent messages rather than in
my case in another folder (as described in filter) that works when receiving
messages.

Expected Results:
message located in folder sent messages

[Bug 284999] New: Akregator cannot load http urls through proxy

2011-10-26 Thread Manuel Siggen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284999

   Summary: Akregator cannot load http urls through proxy
   Product: akregator
   Version: 4.7.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: man...@siggen.ch

Version:   4.7.2 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS:Linux

It seems Akregator does not use correctly the proxy settings configured in KDE.
The main consequence is that external URLs are not loaded (the feed icon turns
red and the feed is not updated).

I experienced the same problem with Rekonq which then says :

ERROR

The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: /

The following error was encountered:

Invalid URL
Some aspect of the requested URL is incorrect. Possible problems:

Missing or incorrect access protocol (should be `http://'' or similar)
Missing hostname
Illegal double-escape in the URL-Path
Illegal character in hostname; underscores are not allowed
Your cache administrator is cct.h...@vd.ch.
Generated Wed, 26 Oct 2011 11:20:55 GMT by proxy1.vd.ch (squid/2.5.STABLE3)

I also tried with Chrome 15 (which uses the KDE proxy settings), but it works
fine there.

It worked fine with Akregator v1.6.6 (KDE 4.6.5).

I tried the following configurations :

1) proxy configuration with URL :

$ cat .kde/share/config/kioslaverc
DoNotTrack=false
PersistentProxyConnection=true

[$Version]

update_info=kioslave.upd:kde2.2/r1,kioslave.upd:kde2.2/r2,kioslave.upd:kde2.2/r3

[Proxy Settings]
AuthMode=0
NoProxyFor=
Proxy Config Script=http://proxy.vd.ch/proxy-conf/internet.pac
ProxyType=2
ReversedException=false
ftpProxy=
httpProxy=
httpsProxy=

= Akregator/Rekonq : exernal URLs are *not* loaded, but local ones are.
   Chrome 15 : both external and local URLs are loaded.

2) manual proxy configuration (with checkbox 'use proxy only for entries in
this list' unchecked) :

$ cat .kde/share/config/kioslaverc
DoNotTrack=false
PersistentProxyConnection=true

[$Version]

update_info=kioslave.upd:kde2.2/r1,kioslave.upd:kde2.2/r2,kioslave.upd:kde2.2/r3

[Proxy Settings]
AuthMode=0
NoProxyFor=etat-de-vaud.ch,vd.ch,localhost
Proxy Config Script=http://proxy.vd.ch/proxy-conf/internet.pac
ProxyType=1
ReversedException=false
ftpProxy=http://proxy.vd.ch:8080
httpProxy=http://proxy.vd.ch:8080
httpsProxy=http://proxy.vd.ch:8080

= Akregator/Rekonq : exernal URLs are loaded, but local ones are *not*.
   Chrome 15 : exernal URLs are loaded, but local ones are *not*.

3) manual proxy configuration (with checkbox 'use proxy only for entries in
this list' checked) :

$ cat .kde/share/config/kioslaverc
DoNotTrack=false
PersistentProxyConnection=true

[$Version]

update_info=kioslave.upd:kde2.2/r1,kioslave.upd:kde2.2/r2,kioslave.upd:kde2.2/r3

[Proxy Settings]
AuthMode=0
NoProxyFor=etat-de-vaud.ch,vd.ch,localhost
Proxy Config Script=
ProxyType=1
ReversedException=true
ftpProxy=http://proxy.vd.ch:8080
httpProxy=http://proxy.vd.ch:8080
httpsProxy=http://proxy.vd.ch:8080

= Akregator/Rekonq : exernal URLs are *not* loaded, but local ones are.
   Chrome 15 : exernal URLs are *not* loaded, but local ones are.

I restarted Akregator after each settings change.

Finally, it seems that https URLs work fine with Rekonq with configuration #1
(but not http ones). I couldn't find any https feeds to check this behavior
with Akregator.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1) configure a http proxy in KDE System Settings
2) start Akregator
3) try to refresh or add a feed (for instance http://lwn.net/headlines/newrss)

Actual Results:
The feed's icon turns red after a couple of secondes, and the feed isn't
refreshed.

Expected Results:
The feed is refreshed and new items show up.

OS: Linux (i686) release 3.0.0-12-generic-pae
Compiler: gcc

--- Comment #1 from Manuel Siggen manuel siggen ch  2011-10-26 11:43:36 ---
I investigated a bit further and with the configuration #1 (proxy config
through URL), I got the following traces (sudo ngrep -c 200 -d any port 8080)
when trying to load www.google.com :

Rekonq :

145.232.254.21 is the proxy IP address, so the request *is* going through the
proxy. The obvious difference is the param immediately following GET : Rekonq
asks for / while Chrome asks for http://www.google.com/. I am not a proxy
expert, so I cannot tell if it could a problem or not.

[Bug 285009] New: card font too small

2011-10-26 Thread Denis Prost
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=285009

   Summary: card font too small
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: denis.pr...@wanadoo.fr
CC: to...@kde.org

Version:   unspecified (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS:Linux

The font used to show card info in right panel is too small for me. It would be
nice if it were conigurable.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open kaddressbook and look at card font for informations like email

Actual Results:
Font is really small, its size is probably not more than 7

Expected Results:
Either make this font bigger or let the user configure its size

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.37.6-0.7-desktop
Compiler: gcc

[Bug 285010] New: kmail2 randomly tells me that a shortcut is ambigous

2011-10-26 Thread Marc Schiffbauer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=285010

   Summary: kmail2 randomly tells me that a shortcut is ambigous
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.7
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: msch...@gentoo.org

Version:   4.7 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

Some shortcuts I use (F5 for folder update, Y for mark message as read,
Shift-Y for mark all messages as read) work most of the time.

But sometimes, kmail2 tells me that it did not take the action because the
shortcut is ambiguous. When I check that as suggested by that message using
Settings - Configure shortcuts I c just can see that everything is it should
be.

I tried re-assigning the shortcut, quit kmail, restart it: This fixes it mpst
of the times

I was not able yet to clearly reproduce either to trigger the bug nor to fix
it. But there is definitely something weird going on with shortcut handling.

I am using current 4.7 branch, compiled an hour ago or so.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
It seems this is not bound to special shortcuts, but you may try it with the
examples I mentioned above.

Expected Results:
It should work as expected.

As a NEW user with a fresh install and can't understand why it keeps happening
3 times in a row. This popup is HIGHLY annoying in a Micr$oft type of way. A
simple friggen checkbox to ignore it would help. Quite frankly, just because of
Christopher Giboudeaux attitude, I almost feel like moving on to something
different.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=285015

   Summary: Kontact/KMail2 crashed when marking thread as read
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.7.2
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: m...@eliasprobst.eu

Application: kontact (4.7.2)
KDE Platform Version: 4.7.2 (4.7.2) (Compiled from sources)
Qt Version: 4.7.2
Operating System: Linux 3.0.6-gentoo x86_64
Distribution: Gentoo Base System release 2.0.3

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
→ Rightclicked on a thread to mark it as unread
→ Work for some minutes in another IMAP mailbox
→ Notice, that there's 1 new mail in the previous mailbox
→ Clicking on the inbox and notice, that the previously marked as Unread
thread is set to Read, although it wasn't clicked/selected afterwards
→ Rightclicking on the thread
→ Clicking on Mark Thread as
→ Selecting accidentally Read instead of Unread which means I marked an
already Read thread as Read again
→ Kontact/KMail2 crashed

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
→ The thread I previously marked as Unread was marked as Read when I opened
the Inbox again, although I could previously clearly see, that the unread
counter of this mailbox increased by 3 when having it marked and switching to
another mailbox

Then it needs to be removed from kmail. If the feature is removed, then it's
removed. But leaving it in but not working is definitely not good.

Seems to be fixed: now I see all recipients' names correctly after forwarding
and looking at the e-mail in the outbox folder.

The only exception is that I can't send any e-mail from KMail (they just stay
in outbox forever), probably due to bug#284703 or bug#284787.

I can confirm the behavior from Fabian. The same here.
I also imported my abook from the old version to the new version.
But in my opinion, it cannot be, that I have to delete the abook and regenerate
it, so that it works. What is so difficult with that?

Kind regards!

But I can see the pictures, which failed in Kmail, in Kopete.

Furthermore I can attach an other mail address to an contact with picture,
which is already displayed in Kmail: The picture is shown at once for the new
added mail address in senders list.

So, Nepomuk seems to work, because for Kopete nepomuk provide the pictures too,
or isn't it?

kontact (4.7.2) on KDE Platform 4.7.2 (4.7.2) using Qt 4.7.2

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Crash occurs whenever kmail or kontact exits. As far as I could tell, no
automatic mail chckes or filtering operations were in progress at the time.
This happens about 90% of the time when I close the application.
