The importer windows just disappears, no backtrace selectable. I also don't
have debug symbols installed. I'd be willing to install them, should that help
debugging the stuff.

On the other hand the problems I'm experiencing and that according to many
posts in inet forums other have as well I wonder whether this really worked in
any reallife scenario.

Summary: Akregator crashes closing a tab
   Product: akregator
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: gabrimo...@gmail.com

Application: akregator (4.7.3)
KDE Platform Version: 4.7.3 (4.7.3)
Qt Version: 4.7.4
Operating System: Linux 3.0.0-14-generic x86_64

Akregator crashes closing a tab.
Meanwhile there was also another tab that was loading. The server was slow to
respond, so I was reading some other posts.
I don't think it is related to the specific rss, that I've read many times
without problems.

Yesterday I upgraded to KDE 4.7.3 in Kubuntu

[Bug 288882] New: Wrapping behavior in Composer depending on window size no auto-break upon send

2011-12-13 Thread Georg Greve
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22

Summary: Wrapping behavior in Composer depending on window size
 no auto-break upon send
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.7
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: gr...@fsfe.org

Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS:Linux

Right now there are two settings for the composer:

 (a) Wrap after a fixed number of characters then convert the wraps into
line-breaks upon send, suffering among other things from issue #163609

 (b) Turn off wrapping altogether, in which case the text flows out of the
screen horizontal scrolling becomes necessary

This request is for a third mode:

 (c) Wrap depending upon composer window size (so no horizontal scrolling) and
do *not* turn those wraps into breaks upon sending

which would circumvent issue #163609 as well as provide a saner
standard/alternative behavior than (b), which really is a special case of (c),
IMHO.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Expected Results:
Composer settings should offer:

[ ] Automatically break lines longer than [xx] columns

and as a potential expert setting

 [ ] Turn word-wraps into line-breaks when sending email

although that might be skipped, IMHO, as I am not sure how big this use case
really is. The default behavior should be to auto-break after 78 characters,
the alternative setting should be to wrap in editor for usability purposes, but
not convert those into line-breaks upon send.

Note: Saving emails as drafts or templates needs to inherit these settings, as
well.

I also encountered this problem, with an an external to akonadi mysql (my
ubuntu 11.10 had issues with starting the akondi-mysql as admin root, and I
have myqsl running anyway).

The workaround Mark Gannon mentions in comment #7 works for me.

I do have a question: why is it, for an external mysql, not a very good final
solution? The timeout is there so that connections don't remain spuriously
open; in my view, when nothing is using a db-connection/Anakonda, it should
just stop and reconnect when activity starts again. Am I misunderstanding
something?

this crash shows that the connectionlost signal isn't getting through when your

this sounds like some type of interaction with Solid to me.
maybe wicd doesn't play nice with Solid??

anyway, seems like we are narrowing down the problem

[Bug 288899] New: KMail often re-downloads the contents of the entire mail server

2011-12-13 Thread Kai Uwe Broulik
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288899

Summary: KMail often re-downloads the contents of the entire
mail server
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: k...@privat.broulik.de

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS:Linux

I have several POP3 accounts in my KMail2 and those are set to Keep E-Mails on
the server because I also want to receive my mail from the smartphone, pc etc
(dunno if Hotmail supports IMAP though).
At some random time, I could not yet reproduce it, I get a messages by Akonadi
saying Local Folder: Message $someid.R437.kaiuwe-tragbar could not be
moved. (I have automatic filtering enabled) and if such a message appeared,
the trouble begins; with no way of solving it except of patiently waiting ( 50
MB and I only got a surfstick with limited quota!) and afterwards deleting all
the unread e-mails (and since there is also no way of only searching for
Unread Mails that have been sent yesterday or earlier, this is quite a pain …)

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
I have absolutely no idea to reliably reproduce this. But the option to leave
the Mails on the server is crucial.

Expected Results:
It just downloads the mails once and that’s it!

Its also still present in 4.8.90 (Beta 2)

I vote for changing automatic ordering, so that the special folders are always
on top (At least Inbox, Sent, Drafts and Trash)

Guten Tag Herr/Frau,

Da ich gerade mitten in Ihr Leben platze – erlauben Sie mir bitte, dass ich
mich kurz vorstelle:

Ich heiße Ulrike Schober und bin Geschäftsführerin von Mey Edlich 1870. Aber
in erster Linie
bin ich einfach nur Teil eines kreativen Teams, das Männer-Mode macht. In

Jahre). Ganz unkompliziert.

Ich grüße Sie im Namen des Mey Edlich-Team

Ulrike Schober
Geschäftsführung
