[Bug 289100] Pegasus Mail Import crashes regularly in kmailcvt

2011-12-16 Thread Laurent Montel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=289100

--- Comment #4 from Laurent Montel 2011-12-16 13:38:02 ---
So it was easy.
Backtrace gave me info how to fix it.
It's fixed in 4.8 or if you compile from source I backported to 4.7.x

Thanks for report
(but if you can told me where I can find pegasus...)
I will try to improve import from other mail apps.

New crash information added by DrKonqi

akonadi_imap_resource (4.7) on KDE Platform 4.7.4 (4.7.4) using Qt 4.7.4

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
waiting for kmail to update my "LogistiQ" IMAP mail, I click on accept
cetificate forever (does it never take hold?), crash.

- Custom settings of the application:
The certificate is from "banan.cz"; my email is found at imap.logist-iq.eu. But
that's a site hosted by banan.cz (including email), without a separate
certificate as of yet, and thus akonadi justly asks if it should be trusted,
but it seems to fail to
accept to do that permanently.

--- Comment #2 from Andreas K. Huettel 2011-12-16

No, trash was always local.

I "solved" the problem... for some reason, kmail had forgotten which folder to
use as trash. Re-setting the local trash as trash folder of my dimap account
makes the deleting work again.

(I found this because none of the "not-really-deleted" messages ended up in the
trash folder!)

Not sure if or where there is a bug, resolve as you see fit.

[Bug 289107] New: Kontact crashes when quitting

2011-12-16 Thread Geert Janssens
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=289107

   Summary: Kontact crashes when quitting
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: i...@kobaltwit.be

Application: kontact (4.7.3)
KDE Platform Version: 4.7.3 (4.7.3)
Qt Version: 4.8.0
Operating System: Linux 3.1.5-2.fc16.i686.PAE i686
Distribution (Platform): Fedora RPMs

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I clicked "Quit" in the menu, after which kontact crashed. I know it was
stalling on a folder synchronisation (a very large trash folder) and at the
same time attempting to send a mail I had just written. I have no idea though
if those things are related.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
Abnormally long stalls at frequent intervals, which seem to be related to the
very large trash folder I mentioned above.

Perhaps this is related to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=768326
which I was just creating when I ran into this crash.

Absolutely! Thanks for fixing the kmail bit that quickly!

This is fixed in 4.8 only, right?

For reference: http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-pim&m=132402345419985&w=2 is the

[Bug 289097] New: error "Unable to fetch item from backend" when entering IMAP folder

2011-12-16 Thread Silver Salonen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=289097

Summary: error "Unable to fetch item from backend" when
entering IMAP folder
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.8
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: silver.salo...@gmail.com

Version: 4.8 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

I upgraded KDE from 4.7.4 to 4.8 beta2. I have not used KMail for a while (I
had tried it in 4.7 though) and I thought I'd give it a new try. I have 2
IMAP-accounts in there.
The problem is with folder "Nagios" which is a subfolder to "Auto" - when I try
entering it, I get this error: Unknown error. (Unable to fetch item from
backend)

The same error in console: kmail2(7238)/libakonadi
Akonadi::EntityTreeModelPrivate::fetchJobDone: Job error:  "Unknown error.
(Unable to fetch item from backend)"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Launch KMail, try entering the folder

Actual Results:
I get the error and don't see folder's contents, it's not synchronized either
(in folder list it shows me 278 new messages being in there, but actually it's
empty)

Expected Results:
Folder is syncrhonized and I see the contents of the folder

That was what I originally had, but I opted to reformat it slightly to make it
easier to read (as opposed to easier to compare) in hopes of avoiding a
regression like this in the future.

I would prefer whoever merges this provide proper attribution. `git am `
on my original patch will do this properly, or `git commit --author="Luke
Dashjr "` if another route is taken.

   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.8
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: commands and actions
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Recently (since the upgrade from 4.8 beta1 to beta2?), deleting an e-mail in my
(dimap) inbox only removes this e-mail temporarily.

After the next sync with the server, all deleted mails are back.

Re-starting Akonadi did not help, neither did logging out completely and
logging back in.

Not sure what other information might be useful, please ping me on irc
(dilfridge on #kontact or #kde-devel) if you have specific questions.

OS:Linux

The tabs I create are not remembered when the app is quit an reopened.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Create tabs showing different folders, quit app, restart app. All but one tab
are gone.

Actual Results:
My tabs vanished

Expected Results:
Same tabs that existed when app was closed

This is an effort to bypass the use of the folder list. My next bug will
reflect the inability to hide, or even collapse that list.

Saw this in Mac's recent mail app. That is just a search and a list, I want
folders and since the tabs are so conveniently located.

In thunderbird I had the view pane right, the list to the left of that, the
folder view collapsed to the left of that (just in case). Then tabs to display
the folders.

I've also tried to reproduce this bug in 'Inbox' folder on the same IMAP server
and failed.
Seems this bug depend on source address.

I committed fixes for all the crashes mentioned in this report.
Those fixes will be in the 4.8.0 release

There may be some nepomuk related issues in here though, but I'm not sure.
If you do have nepomuk issues, please file a different report.

I will close this one now since it is mainly about kmail2 crashes.
