--- Comment #2 from Christoph Bartoschek 2011-12-29

Unfortunately the mixedmaildir resource does not work properly with 4.7.95.
Copying folders from it to a maildir results in directories with 1 byte files.

I just see that it works in KDE 4.7.95 but not in 4.7.4.

love this app but it's unusable now.

so you'll need to wait for the 4.8.8 release or ask your distribution to patch

[Bug 290040] New: akonadi chokes on two specific mails (pop3)

2011-12-28 Thread Guido Schmidt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=290040

Summary: akonadi chokes on two specific mails (pop3)
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.7
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: pande...@gmx.net

Created an attachment (id=67200)

Mail that causes akonadi to hang

Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS:Linux

KDE-Version is 4.7.4 (the drop-down-list did not offer this version).

I have two mails (BTW both google calander invitations) which when either one
of them gets displayed cause akonadi to hang somehow (no CPU-load).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Navigate to the folder containing these messages.
2. Click on either of them in the message list.
3. See how the message-contents are displayed.
4. Click on any other message.

Actual Results:
>From now on I can't view the contents of any message. The message-content-part
only shows "Retrieving Folder Contents Please wait...".

Expected Results:
Show the contents of the newly selected message.

When I restart akonadi using akonadictl displaying of contents is working
again, until I click on one of those two evil messages.

While succesfully displaying a message also causes the console to print at
least

  void Nepomuk::Query::QueryServiceClient::close()

(sometimes more) nothing gets printed after I triggered the bug.

I moved the messages to another folder. Had no influence on the bug.

I have been experiencing the not responding problems in many aspects of the app
and not just encrypting/decrypting.

As an attempt to get the program working, I set the Compatibility mode to
Windows XP SP3 and it has been running tremendously better. I have not
experienced any 'not responding' yet (for about 6 hours).

[Bug 290036] New: The "Remove Duplicate Mails"-Function deletes both the duplicate and the original (pop3)

2011-12-28 Thread Guido Schmidt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=290036

Summary: The "Remove Duplicate Mails"-Function deletes both the
duplicate and the original (pop3)
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.7
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: pande...@gmx.net

Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS:Linux

KDE-Version is 4.7.4 (the drop-down-list did not offer this version).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Have a folder open with duplicate mails in it. Select "Remove Duplicate Mails"
from the Folder-menu.

Actual Results:
Kmail2 deletes not only the duplicate but also the original mail. Undo does not
work here. The deletion is final, nothing to be rescued from trash.

Expected Results:
Should delete only the duplicates, undo should be available too.

I suspect the duplicates are one of those self-generated ones mentioned in
various other reports because I didn't have any of them befove I switched from
kmail1.

[Bug 290023] New: Moving mail from local maildir folder only works once

2011-12-28 Thread Robby Engelmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=290023

Summary: Moving mail from local maildir folder only works once
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.8
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: robby.engelm...@igfs-ev.de

Version: 4.8 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

I have a local maildir ressource and my incoming pop-mails are downloaded into
a Folder "Posteingang". From this Folder I move via drag&drop all my read mails
into subfolders. When I drag&drop --> move one mail to a subfolder I am not
able to move another one for the second time (stop symbol is shown when I
dragged it to the desired folder.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
create a subfolder beyond "Incoming Mails"
drag one mail into this folder
try to drag a second mail into this or any other subfolder

Actual Results:

moving a second message is not possible

However: moving multiple mails for the very first time after starting kontact
is possible

Expected Results:
moving mails after the very first time after kontact start should be possible

I see this after upgrade from KDE 4.7.4 to 4.8RC1 from kubuntu/beta ppa

[Bug 290013] New: Kmail2 does not mark system messages as read, deleted, etc

2011-12-28 Thread Eric Mesa
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=290013

Summary: Kmail2 does not mark system messages as read, deleted,
etc
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: ericsbinarywo...@gmail.com

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS:Linux

I have Kmail2 setup to check my system messages (the ones you get from cronjobs
or logwatch). With Kmail 1 this worked perfectly. With Kmail2 when I mark a
message as read or deleted, the next time that folder refreshes the message is
once again marked as new. So while I can use Kmail2 to read these messages, I
need to use mutt to actually delete them or mark hem as read.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Check system messages
2. Delete messages after reading
3. Refresh system messages
4. Messages are back and marked as new

Actual Results:
The messages appear again marked new

Expected Results:
Deleted messages should be removed from the system. Messages marked read
should stay marked read.

This is on Fedora 16 with the following kdepim package:
http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/package-announce/2011-December/071186.html
I'm not in front of the computer right now, but I know I applied this update.
So I'm using whatever versions of Kontact/Kmail2 are in there.

[Bug 290012] New: Crash of KMail with a GMail IMAP account

2011-12-28 Thread Mickaël

  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR

Application: kmail (4.7.4)
KDE Platform Version: 4.7.4 (4.7.4)
Qt Version: 4.8.0
Operating System: Linux 3.1.5-1-ARCH x86_64
Distribution: "Arch Linux"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Writing a new message (no link with the crash, I think).
I was not able to read the distant messages in my IMAP folders ("Réception du
contenu du dossier / Veuillez patienter..."). I tried to double-clic on them,
one opened after a few minutes and I have also been able to read it.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
I was not able to open any message on my IMAP account.

(and I've lost my draft, it could be cool to implement a draft autosave option)
