[Bug 293013] New: dataloss: missing message bodies ON THE IMAP SERVER
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293013 Summary: dataloss: missing message bodies ON THE IMAP SERVER Product: kmail2 Version: 4.8 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: piedro.kul...@googlemail.com Version: 4.8 (using KDE 4.8.0) OS:Linux I thought, I am having an akonadi or some other local problem. But somehow Kmail2 deletes the mailbodies of some incoming mails on the IMAP Server. All my IMAP-accounts are effected! I doublechecked directly on the servers: completely empty mails! Less than 1KB file size ... In addition it produces multiple duplicates (50+) of some of these contentless mails with only minimal headers ... This behaviour stopped after two days after updating to KDE 4.8. Since yesterday it started again ... To be honest, I am frustrated, important stuff got lost. thx for reading, piedro Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: I don't know how to reproduce ... I am not an expert, sry, see above ... Actual Results: I don't know how to reproduce ... I am not an expert, sry. see above Expected Results: Instead the software shouldn't delete the message bodies, especially under no circumstances synchronize the empty mails with THE IMAP SERVER. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 284172] Kmail does not correctly recognize some IMAP-Inbox-Folders
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284172 a.tetz...@gmx.de changed: What|Removed |Added CC||a.tetz...@gmx.de --- Comment #5 from2012-01-31 20:11:43 --- I've got the same problem here, also with a courier imap mail server. I found out some points: - Creating an account on a courier server and enabling the server side subscription of folders causes the inbox to be not synced. Creating another account with the exact same settings, except fully disabling the server side subscription works. - Creating the account with the server side subscription will result in the following settings for the inbox (I used akonadiconsole): - All ACL permissions are disabled - The attribute "noselect" is set to "1" - The "Content types" lists only "inode/directory" but not "message/rfc822" Setting some useful ACLs, deleting the "noselect" attribute, adding "message/rfc822" and manually staring a sync causes KMail to download the messages that are currently in the folder. Sadly this settings gets overwritten and after that no new mail gets loaded to the inbox without repeating the steps. - I didn't test the problem on other mailservers, but I think it is an issue with the courier server. I am using courier 4.8 (Debian squeeze) with SSL encryption. - The problem might be the same than in Bug 283841 - I also found some old kmail 1 bugs, that might be relevant: Bug 191280 , Bug 243318 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 285937] After Upgrade, now I have "Local Folders" and "Kmail Folders"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=285937 --- Comment #2 from Brendan Barry 2012-01-31 19:55:14 --- It was duplicated and all messed up. What I did so far to straighten it out more... Deleted ALL KDE resources that pointed to Maildir folders and created JUST ONE that pointed to the Mail-old folder that my Kmail1 data/mails were in. I blew away all configuration, because kmail2 is so insanely-messed up that it didn't seem to want to start with my old, and even migrated config. Then this left the problem of the mbox files I had. Kmail didn't even attempt to convert them, so I had to do it, manually through the "Import Messages From" menu item. This has cleaned up the structure. Kmail still doesn't work, but this bug is DEFINITELY still there. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284703 --- Comment #8 from Yngve Levinsen 2012-01-31 13:53:43 --- Hmm, interesting, problem is back. 1) does the Mail Dispatcher Agent running (you can check in akonadiconsole) Yes, it states "sending: (0%)" 2) if yes, is it online? Yes, status is "Online, Running (0%)" 3) do you have an MBOX account? I have maildir account, but no mbox accounts if I understand correctly. 4) if you run a mail check in KMail, can you see it checks all your accounts? Yes, it does. I still receive e-mails. 5) can you send the mails by right-clicking on Outbox and using Send Queued Messages? Hmm, strange, I don't see that option by right-clicking the outbox folder. Perhaps I misunderstood something. In the "File" menu, the "Send queued messages" is greyed out. I apologize, but these are work e-mails so I have to send them. There was no indication this time that the e-mails weren't sent, and nothing I found that could fix the problem other than restarting Kontact. After a restart of Kontact, the option to "send queued messages" appeared in the right click menu of the outbox again. When clicking that, I got asked to open my KWallet again. I am using Chakra Linux, with KDE 4.7.4 installed. It is difficult for me to give you a lot of info because usually when it happens it is confusing for me what is going on, and I usually need to send the e-mails immediately when I figure out. This time some of the e-mails had been sitting there for three hours. I do not believe I have done a lot of strange configuring this time. Please let me know if there are more tests I can do if it happens again. Before this happened I can say that I the computer was suspended to memory, brought to work, opened and then I tried to send e-mails. I thought I restarted Kontact but perhaps I didn't. I am using "internal mysql" if that makes a difference. $ uname -a Linux yngve-chakra 3.1-CHAKRA #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Dec 6 22:49:14 UTC 2011 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8600 @ 2.40GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

During this time akonadi shows no cpu activity but the Kontact process eats up one core. After all jobs are ended (~4:30s in my setup) everything is back to normal and opening the summary again works fine. [Bug 283682] KMail duplicates filtered messages
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283682 Matthias Nagel changed: What|Removed |Added CC||matthias.na...@stud.uni-kar ||lsruhe.de --- Comment #8 from Matthias Nagel 2012-01-31 10:35:48 --- Same problem for me. I am using kmail 4.7.4-r1 from the Gentoo Stable amd64 repository. I have to POP3 accounts and some filters that examine the mail header (mostly the "from" attribute) and move the mails into folders and marks them as read. Sometimes new messages are duplicated. This also affects mails that are passed through the filter but not modified, because the filter condition does not apply. The mails are not duplicated immediately but reemerge after a folder update, especially after starting kmail. Suddenly mails that are already some days old and have already been processed by the filter show up again. I can observe the same behaviour as in comment #6. Not every mail that is processed by some filter is affected, but if some mail is affected once, the mail reappears over and over again. I have the feeling that a mail is more likely to be affected if the filter has to process a lot of new mails at once. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
