[Bug 293024] New: Add possibility to associate akonadi resource with network manager connection
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293024 Summary: Add possibility to associate akonadi resource with network manager connection Product: kmail2 Version: 4.7 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: domi...@netspire.net Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.4) OS:Linux It would be very nice if an user has a possibility to associate akonadi resource with network manager connection. The typical use scenario is mail server accessible only throug VPN connection. This will prevent akonadi/kmail from spamming user that server is not reachable when VPN connection is down and on the other side automatically sync resource when the connection becomes available. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: every time Actual Results: none Expected Results: that mails are displayed right I'm really desperate. [Bug 293033] New: Reply-To overrides From when replying to sender/all
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293033 Summary: Reply-To overrides From when replying to sender/all Product: kmail2 Version: 4.8 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: ka...@seznam.cz Version: 4.8 (using KDE 4.8.0) OS:Linux If an incoming email has Reply-To set, like for example: From: Sender Name n...@example.com To: list for announcements announce_l...@example.com Reply-To: discussion_l...@example.com trying to reply to the author (from) sets To address to the Reply-To address instead of the author's address, i.e. discussion_l...@example.com instead of n...@example.com Also when trying to use the reply to all feature, the sender address is omitted, i.e. the list of addresses does NOT contain n...@example.com There is no way to send the answer to the sender and not to Reply-To address except for deleting the prefilled address from the reply and entering the sender's address manually. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: see above, get an email with Reply-To set 1. hit r on it and examine the message being composed 2. hit a on it ... 3. hit shift+A on it ... Actual Results: 1. To is set to Reply-To address - this is correct 2. To is set to Reply-To and To addresses 3. To is set to Reply-To address Expected Results: 1. the same - To is set to reply-to address 2. To is set to Reply-To and From addresses 3. To is set to From address While it may arguable if the case 2. should include also the original To, i.e. using really all concerned addresses and not just a subset (when Reply-To serves as a replacement of To), the most important thing is that cases 1. and 3. have to differ. The reply to author function is chosen explicitly when the reply should go to the sender, overriding the implicit mechanism of chosing the address in standard reply. Note that this has worked as expected until kmail 4.7.4, it got broken in 4.8.0. p.s. my case is using this with mailinglist where other headers that I haven't mentioned like List-Post may have some influence - if an exact reproducer message is needed, I'll try to refine some -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 293039] New: KMail fails to parse emails properly in some cases
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293039 Summary: KMail fails to parse emails properly in some cases Product: kmail2 Version: 4.8 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: m...@online.de Version: 4.8 (using KDE 4.8.0) OS:Linux KMail fails to parse emails properly when (this is the way I see it) there are different message parts in one email, e.g. plaintext and HTML or plaintext and attachement, i.e.: for a lot of mails. This is the exact output for a mail where parsing (and encoding) fails: http://pastebin.com/YnqU1FtW This is the output for a mail consisting of plaintext and an attachement (anonymised): http://pastebin.com/cQ4miUZ5 These badly displayed emails don't always start with This is a multi-part message in MIME format., see the recent Linux Foundation Newsletter: http://pastebin.com/466LanBS The same happens when there is a signature: http://pastebin.com/xzd8PqCj One more, just the top lines this time: http://pastebin.com/Jq0JRsgq I just discovered that it may not perfectly reproducable. I get this newsletter One Word A Day and it was parsed correctly yesterday, but not today. Yesterday: http://pastebin.com/eRVpta85 Today: http://pastebin.com/TaCqWE7L Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Receive a multi-part email. Actual Results: See pastebin examples. Expected Results: An email properly parsed, readable, with the right encoding, giving you the ability to choose between e.g. plaintext and HTML or allowing you to open an attachement. This is only happening since 4.8.0. I'm not sure about the severity of this bug, but since I seem to lose my attachement (it may not be gone but I cannot open it which I would like to in the next days or I won't get my salary :) ), I set the severity to major. You can create a VCard dir or file one pointing to your existing collection, or -- recommended -- create a Personal Contacts resource and later import your contacts from the old location. I recommend this because that type allows storing groups and is the default type now. 2. Make sure that in the KDE Resources section when your select Contacts from the dropdown, akonadi-resource is checked.
