[Bug 277770] KMail2 is slow when accessing messages in folder

(In reply to comment #14)

Didn't notice a problem with local maildir.
But I completely stopped nepomuk services because virtuoso permanently occupied
my cpu at 90+% (on nice level, ok, but battery drained and noise terror
anyways).

[Bug 277770] KMail2 is slow when accessing messages in folder

--- Comment #15 from Alexandre Bonneau
2012-02-10 23:28:34 ---
It seems disabling in "Configure kmail > Accounts > Maildir" the 'include in
manual mail check' and 'check mail on startup' options speeds kmail like never
before !

Not sure though if 'not checking local folders' was activated before akonadi
existed to achieve the same speed..

Joachim, you say you recreated your akonadi IMAP ressource and accounts from
kmail.
Are you saying that this action also boosted the 'maildir' synchronisation hell
too ? (because for me when I take a look in akonadiconsole, akonadi never stops
to synchronise my local maildir folders, not the IMAP ones)

[Bug 293794] New: optimize change of email attributes, like "read/unread"

   Version: Git (master)
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: m...@milianw.de

Version: Git (master)
OS:Linux

I really like to walk through my new email via shortcuts that jump to next/prev
unread email. But with kmail2 this is not so nice anymore: as soon as a folder
has multiple unread emails, and you step through these quickly with the
shortcut above, you will sooner or later "cycle", i.e. re-visit one of these
"unread" emails - even though you just read it...

kmail2 seems to take quite some time (~1s+) until it has applied the "mark as
read" action it seems...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
multiple (N) unread mails in a folder
quickly press "next unread mail" shortcut repeatedly (N+x times)

Actual Results:
you'll "cycle" through the unread emails

Expected Results:
stop after having seen all N emails

marking as wish - not sure whether you guys think it's a bug or not...

I am also affected on openSUSE 12.1 with
Qt: 4.7.4
KDE: 4.7.2 (4.7.2) "release 5"
KMail: 4.7.2
Disabling the spam filter works around the scary duplication issue. Somehow
opening the account in Thunderbird, letting it do it's spam filtering, closing
it, opening KMail again, seems to clean up the mess.

I think this is a the same issue as Bug 283682 - KMail duplicates filtered
messages.

Same here with KDE 4.8.0, openSuSE 12.1. Interval of the message depends on the
interval of the sync. Bug is quiet old now.

[Bug 293768] New: data loss when moving message while downloading its content (imap)

2012-02-10 Thread S . Burmeister
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293768

Summary: data loss when moving message while downloading its
content (imap)
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: sven.burmeis...@gmx.net

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.8.0)
OS:Linux

This is reproducible with akonadi 1.7.0 and kdepim 4.8.

It seems to apply to all move actions, i.e. filtering as well as deleting
(moving to trash). I did not test drag+drop.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use an imap account with a local trash folder and a slow internet connection
(or make the attachment bigger).

2. Send yourself an email with a large attachment, i.e. large enough that it
takes a minute to download.

3. click on the email in your imap inbox (preview pane switches to
"downloading") and press DEL immediately, i.e. delete it while it is downloaded

4. click on a few other emails and delete (move to trash) them as well. They
will not be moved instantly but kmail "waits" for the first one to finish
downloading.

5. Wait until kmail finished moving all emails, i.e. they are not shown
greyed-out in the message list but gone from it.

Actual Results:
Switch to the local trash and click on the email with the large attachment.
Here only the headers are shown and the email's content is gone, i.e. no
attachment.

Expected Results:
Only filter complete emails.

[Bug 283548] Only first filter in chain works for incoming messages

2012-02-10 Thread Andrew Gaydenko
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283548

--- Comment #12 from Andrew Gaydenko 2012-02-10 10:10:01 ---
Yes, for me filtering started to work also - unfortunately, some kind of
working only. In particular, bogofilter-related filters sometimes work as
expexted, but sometimes partly only (say, moving to a folder assign for spam
doesn't work, while setting as read does).

Now a situation is even worse - when the issue isn't clearly 100% reproducible.

At my case mostly POP3 accounts are in use.

Works for me with KDE 4.8.0. Bogofilter rules are the last 4 in a chain of >10
and the filter moves spam from my imap folder to a local folder.
