[Bug 293994] New: message in Appearance/Message Tags is keeping the configuration window too wide
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=293994 Summary: message in Appearance/Message Tags is keeping the configuration window too wide Product: kmail2 Version: 4.8 Platform: Gentoo Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: config dialog AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: walch.mar...@web.de Created an attachment (id=68758) -- (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=68758) a screenshot of the dialog with the message in it Version: 4.8 (using KDE 4.8.0) OS:Linux If Nepomuk services are not running, there appears a warning in Appearance Message Tags. This warning refuses to be wrapped over several lines. So you can not narrow the window much. In German localization (and probably some others, too), it is even too wide to fit in a common screen resolution. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: - make sure kmail is not running and Nepomuk services are deactived in systemsettings - start kmail, preferably in German localization - open the settings dialog - try to make it narrower Actual Results: The minimum width of the window is limited by the length of the warning message that shows up in Appearance Message Tags The warning in German is Der semantische Suchdienst „Nepomuk“ ist nicht verfügbar. Ohne diesem ist das Einrichten von Stichwörtern nicht möglich. Sie können den Dienst in den Systemeinstellungen einschalten. which is too long to fit on my screen with a resolution of 1280x1024. Expected Results: If the message does not fit in one line, wrap it. This happened for me while Nepomuk services were actually activated. However, they failed to start, so KMail behaved like they were not. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 77862] kio_imap processes hang when connection status changes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77862 David Faure fa...@kde.org changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution||FIXED --- Comment #96 from David Faure faure kde org 2012-02-13 14:07:56 --- I fixed all the issues that I could find in akonadi_imap_resource (some for 4.8.0, some after 4.8.0, therefore for 4.8.1), when losing connection, or switching to another network, or after suspend/resume, etc. This makes the main report here fixed in 4.8.1. Aaron Williams: you are either hitting one of the bugs I fixed, or your resource is busy for a very long time with something else, which needs to be investigated (e.g. using RMB / Show task list and Show Notification Log, in the first tab of akonadiconsole). Please file a separate bug report for this issue, it doesn't seem related to connection status change. Everyone else: kio_imap is not used anymore in the akonadi version of kmail (i.e. KDEPIM = 4.7, but please upgrade to 4.8), which is why I'm talking about akonadi_imap_resource, which doesn't have this issue (anymore). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 294027] New: kmail with akonadi too slow to download email, nepomuk uses too many resources
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294027 Summary: kmail with akonadi too slow to download email, nepomuk uses too many resources Product: kmail2 Version: 4.8 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: diego.ercol...@gmail.com Version: 4.8 (using KDE 4.8.0) OS:Linux kmail with akonadi promises many feature but when you have a huge imap mailbox (20k Messages) organized in folders, kmail simply freezes trying to download messages. If you have nepomuk services enabled all the system resource (8Gb Ram AMD Phenom II) is used by indexing services. While nepomuk/akonadi service isn't stabilized kmail must not use it, or if it is possible, it should be disabled by option. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: launch kmail with imap account with many messages in it organized by folder Expected Results: Read Mail The bug doesn't cause data loss but cause loss of usability of the whole KDE environment. And this is a pity. Akonadi, nepomuk are to young to be deployed in the kde enviroment. Adding also the fact that plasma itself have many problems. Please dear KDE guru take time to consolidate the desktop. I'm a KDE entusiast since 1.4 but now it's very difficult to use on daily basis due to its resource hungry! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
