[Bug 294280] New: random scrolling weirdness in knode
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294280 Summary: random scrolling weirdness in knode Product: knode Version: 0.2 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: bi...@melbpc.org.au Version: 0.2 (using KDE 4.7.4) OS:Linux A variable time after starting knode (it can be minutes or hours), scrolling in the panes of its window will be have weirdly. Usually this means that in response to the scroll wheel on the mouse or to the scroll bar (if there is one), only a line near the top or the bottom of the pane will be affected. All other lines in the pane will be unchanged. If the cursor is then passed over the pane then each line of the pane will be correctly updated as the cursor passes over the line. Thus the pane will be correctly updated if the cursor is swiped vertically over the pane. If the pane contains a graphic then the behaviour is less well defined but nonetheless broken. The only fix appears to be to restart knode. The same bug affects Akregator. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Run knode (or akregator) and usually the problem will eventually appear. That's a good question? From what I can tell by looking through the various directories that akonadi points to, it seems it is an akonadi issue. Now if it is a back end problem with the database or not is yet another question! Now as I have stated, I went in to the akonadi configuration module in system setting and followed the paths in the file system and checked and they do exist but the are empty. So I went back into akonadi configuration and deleted those entries and before I could stop the akonadi service it recreated the entry I just deleted out of thin air. This should not happen. I do have program experience but it is windows based using VB 6 enterprise. So what I did was delete the directories that akonadi was pointing to, then deleted the resource out of akonadi configuration and before I could stop the akonadi service it recreated the entire resource yet again right down to the file directory in the system. Something is very wrong and from what I've seen it appears to be in the back end and the akonadi server itself. Hope this helps. The machine I'm currently using I'm going to upgrade to 4.8 but if you want I have another laptop that I can configure to match the configuration of this one after I clean it all up of old data which may take some time since I'm going away for a week for my 25th anniversary. Let me know if you want me to assist further in tracking down this ugly bug. [Bug 294226] New: This is a general problem
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294226 Summary: This is a general problem Product: kontact Version: unspecified Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: mail AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: gingr...@internode.on.net Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.0) OS:Linux OK, I'll admit to being a *nix "Old head" and this *is* a part of where I'm coming from I'm fighting my way through getting Kmail into the "Brave new World" of akonadi -- My comment is this, and it is not a specific bug, so I suspect that many of those who receive these will simply redirect to /dev/null. I do not have a problem with improving data structures -- BUT -- please remember that there are a lot of users out here in the "real world"(tm) who may have used what you consider to be outmoded data structures for a l-o-n-g time. In my case, I used mbox files for mail because I needed to connect via ssh and use mutt to check mail remotely -- hey, it is a clean, low bandwidth solution that works well even over crappy international links. I'm not a Ludddite -- but I use what I have come to recognise as functional solutions. I've invested of effort in creating a series of filters to manage a fairly large volume of e-mail in Kmail -- I do not want completely recreate all of this. Unfortunately the latest version of kmail/kontact simply barfed when it tried to start. After a fair few hours of effort I am finally getting some of my previous mail imported. But I'm still getting " (Unable to append item flags.)" errors. Please, please consider the upgrade path to your beautiful new "all singing -- all dancing" data structures before you distribute them and foist them on people who may have years of effort invested in the "status quo" If you've got this far, thanks for listening. -Don Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: long and difficult saga involved in upgrade to new Kontact I've converted all of the mbox files to mdir and removed duplicate messages where there were a lot of them -- even went through the biggest mdir and deleted a majority of the messages I managed a partial import and tried removing the mdir that was causing the problem - all this achieved was a similar failure at the start of the next directory Actual Results: Mail did not get imported Expected Results: mail should have been imported I said what I needed to say above. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

I am trying really hard, but there seems to be no "Space" between to folders... > But it's right there is still dnd menu I will look at to remove it > (but it works) > > Default order is automatic order Why add an other order ? Well, maybe thats only true for local folders? I only use IMAP-Accounts and here the order is just alphabetically and the special folders are not treated differently and moved to the top.
