[Bug 292399] Kmail message list does not show attachment icons
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=292399 itsef-ad...@brightsight.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||itsef-ad...@brightsight.com --- Comment #2 from2012-02-22 10:18:22 --- (In reply to comment #0) [...] > Kmail message list does not show the attachment icons. [...] I can confirm this to be a longstanding problem - we have already experienced that with the KDE 3.5.x kmail and still see this happening with KMail2. We have tried the latter under Kubuntu 11.10 with both KDE 4.7.4 and KDE 4.8.0 and in both cases, attachment detection is very unreliable. For some mails, attachments are detected and the icon is shown, but for the majority, no icon is shown. For the same reasons, the quick filter in the message list on "Has attachment" does not work. So far, we have been unable to determine why some mails do get detected. Under KMail1, attachment detection tended to work better for mails that have been read, but under KMail2 not even that makes a difference. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 294604] New: Composer is very slow when replying/inline-forwarding e-mails with a long body
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294604 Summary: Composer is very slow when replying/inline-forwarding e-mails with a long body Product: kmail2 Version: 4.8 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: composer AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: itsef-ad...@brightsight.com Version: 4.8 (using KDE 4.8.0) OS:Linux Any time a mail with a long body (>1500lines) is being dealt with, Composer becomes very slow for both opening and navigating within the text. While doing so, Kontact thrashes the CPU up to 100%. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1) Select a mail with a long body (tried with > 1500lines) 2) Choose "Reply" or "Forward inline" Actual Results: The composer window opens and remains inactive (grey) for several seconds - delays up to 10s have been observed. When open, navigating within the message body is also very slow - e.g. jumping from the end to the top (Ctrl-Home) can take 2-3s, again while thrashing the CPU. This makes dealing with long mails very cumbersome. Expected Results: Composer should pop up quickly and be responsive within a short time. Navigating within the message text should be smooth and not dependent on text length. - Set-up: Kubuntu 11.10 with either the original 4.7.4 packages or the Kubuntu-ppa 4.8.0 packages, IMAP account, NFS4 home directories, akonadi working with a central MySQL server. - The bad performance was seen with both Nepomuk disabled and enabled. - When using "Forward as attachment", Composer appears more or less instantly and is much more responsive - the slow down seems directly related to the length of the message body. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 289097] error "Unable to fetch item from backend" when entering IMAP folder
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=289097 Alexander Wauck changed: What|Removed |Added CC||alex.wauck+kdeb...@gmail.co ||m --- Comment #19 from Alexander Wauck 2012-02-22 23:10:45 --- I think this is caused by *any* delay in fetching mail, not just network-related delays. I only see the dialog once: shortly after log-in, before I have typed my KWallet password. Kontact/KMail is not running, but the Akonadi email stuff is (that's what causes the KWallet password dialog to appear). On a somewhat related note, the error message is awfully vague. It doesn't say what tried to do the fetching or what the backend is. In my case, it appeared before I had "done anything", which means I had no real context in which to interpret the error message. It's the error message equivalent of the dreaded "it doesn't work" bug report. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
