User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11) KHTML/4.8.1 (like Gecko) Konqueror/4.8
Build Identifier:

If I edit a sieve filter, I was able to call a search filter with a short cut,
I believe it was CRTL-F. But since I used it to automatically, I could also
have been CRTL-S or F3. In KDE 4.8.0 this worked fine, in KDE 4.8.1 it does not
work anymore. Nothing happens when I press the shprt cut.

Reproducible: Always

Ok regression but improvment for debugging :)

It is a very bad regression if you have a large filter with different filters
and want to add something to that filter and need to find it first.

It happens with bogofilter and akonadi 1.7.1 as well.

I even removed the bogofilter rules and let kmail set them up again in case
something changed in the way it pipes through it.

It does not happen to emails that have been marked as read before kmail
retrieves them from the imap server.

Kmail2 cashes mails, but the cache gets invalidated after some time (hours). It
would be still nice to have options to finetune caching (I don't need Trash to
stay in Cache, but I need Mails in the Inbox at least for some weeks, as long
as a specific communication is active).
My connection is quite slow (45kb/s), so caching is really important for
traditional IMAP, DIMAP is no option as syncing would take days.

Some time ago, I read a comment to a Blog post, that there is a hidden
possibility, yet, but I don't remember where it was :(

2012-03-08 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295511

Yes, but if you have a big and complex filter, the error which is in the file,
was made during the last edit. Normally I will only edit a small part of the
filter. So I will know a search pattern, to find the place I just edited and
will be able to find the error, even though I can not find the exact line
number which was named in the error report. I had the problem with identifying
the line number of a bug also, bug I was always able to find it by searching
the area I last edited. With search gone, the problem is worse.

[Bug 295484] filtering removes email's content

2012-03-08 Thread S . Burmeister
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295484

When installing bogofilter it does not mark any email as spam. One has to train
it, i.e. mark emails as spam AND ham in order to make it work. This means that
if you do not have this problem with bogofilter and you do not get any bogosity
header in new emails, bogofilter is simply not adding any header and thus the
bug does not appear.

If spamassasin does not need any training it is better suited for re-producing.

Hi David,

Thanks for the event. I've been quite surprised to see that it's in fact empty,
save for timezone and daylight declarations.

Can you confirm that you see your events normally? If that's the case then this
error just pops up for this one, and doesn't block normal fetching. It's
annoying though, so I'll try to find a way to mute it for these cases.

Cheers,
Grégory

I think the (once-off) crash one of our user reported today could be related.
This was with Kubuntu 11.10 and the Kubuntu-ppa KDE 4.8.1 packages.

The crash occurred directly on start-up of Kontact. After a new start, it
worked again.

Kmail2 crashes when trying to forward messeges with attachments with the "in
line" option.

I installed the bugtrace symbols package and repeated the action. I attach the
file. It happens everytime I do it.

I installed yesterday the new 4.8.1 packages (Kubuntu 11.10).

4.8.1 does indeed seem to be (even) more fragile than 4.8.0 (both were from
Kubuntu-ppa here, on Kubuntu 11.10). One of our users reported four crashes
within a few hours:

- One on startup -> added to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295193
- Three when clicking on IMAP folders, reported as
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295520 (one of them did not result in a
backtrace).

[Bug 295357] When trying to store a mail ("Save as") with a file name that contains invalid characters, no error message is given and the mail is not stored.

2012-03-08 Thread itsef-admin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295357

--- Comment #5 from itsef-ad...@brightsight.com ---
I just ran strace against Kontact while trying to store "pgp?testmail.mbox" on
a FAT32/VFAT-formatted USB-stick. In the strace, I can see plenty of lines like
lstat64("/media/36F3-0BF4/pgp?testmail.mbox", 0xbffdfabc) = -1 ENOENT (No such
file or directory)
[...]
lstat64("/home/USER/.kde/share/apps/RecentDocuments/pgp?testmail.mbox.desktop",
0xbffdf9ec) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
[...]
unlink("/media/36F3-0BF4/pgp?testmail.mbox") = -1 ENOENT (No such file or
directory)
stat64("/media/36F3-0BF4/pgp?testmail.mbox", 0xbffe2008) = -1 ENOENT (No such
file or directory)
open("/media/36F3-0BF4/pgp?testmail.mbox",
O_RDWR|O_CREAT|O_LARGEFILE|O_CLOEXEC, 0666) = -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument)

And thereafter no more mentioning of that file name. It looks as if the OS is
indeed giving back the error, but KMail2 just does not do anything with it. If
there is anything else you would like to test me specifically, please let me
know.

Classification: Unclassified

The mysql process talking with Akonadi eats up much CPU resource sometimes in
KDE 4.8.1. Because there was a known CPU issue with nepomuk in KDE 4.8 I first
thought its related to this. However it is not. I stopped Nepomuk in the system
settings
but the issue remains.

I can reproduce the issue by starting kmail. Each time kmail is starting
results in extremely high CPU usage from mysql for several minutes.

[Bug 295532] New: Akonadi hogs cpu when updating remote ics feed from google

2012-03-08 Thread Daniel Faust
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295532

Bug ID: 295532
  Severity: normal

Summary: Akonadi hogs cpu when updating remote ics feed from
google
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: hessija...@gmail.com
  Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: NEW
 Component: ICal file resource

Created attachment 69374

A copy of the ics feed in case it gets changed

I am using a remote ics feed from google since KDE 4.7.
After upgrading to KDE 4.8.1 akonadi will hog the cpu when I enable periodic
updates for that ics file. Disabling the periodic updates again won't change
anything. Only removing the calendar stops the cpu usage. After that I can add
a new calendar with the same ics file without any problem as long as I don't
enable periodic updates.
The ics feed creating this problem is:
https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/i2atv0kpsvau8npuhugfn8f...@group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

The cpu usage starts with a delay after enabling periodic updates and on the
console I executed 'akonadictl start' I get an uncountable amount of these
messages:
AkonadiAgentServer(1965)/akonadiserializer (calendar)
Akonadi::SerializerPluginKCalCore::deserialize: Failed to parse incidence! Item
id =  9088 Storage collection id  67 parentCollectionId =  -43235
AkonadiAgentServer(1965)/akonadiserializer (calendar)
Akonadi::SerializerPluginKCalCore::deserialize: ""
AkonadiAgentServer(1965)/libakonadi Akonadi::ItemSerializer::deserialize:
Unable to deserialize payload part: "RFC822"
AkonadiAgentServer(1965)/libakonadi Akonadi::ItemSerializer::deserialize:
Payload data was: ""

During that the akonadi systemsettings control module shows that the status of
the calendar resource causing this problem is switching between reconnecting
and ready all the time.

All other (remote ics) calendars like http://www.kde.org/releaseschedule.ics
work fine.

This is a single threaded application.
The job is started through delayed invocation so all connects have been
executed before that happens

Lately, I'm experiencing a lot of random crashes with kmail. It usually happens
as follows: I start kmail for the first time and start reading email (imap

The crash doesn't always happen, and when kmail survives the first 3-5 minutes
of staying up then usually it doesn't crash anymore.

The backtrace follows below. It seems that the crash happens in the soprano
component. There's a few symbols missing, but I'm not sure which package to
install to get the remaining ones. The KDE crash assistant doesn't know either.

Application: kmail (4.8.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.8.00 (4.8.0 "release 462"
Qt Version: 4.8.0
Operating System: Linux 3.1.9-1.4-desktop x86_64

I have the same problem with KMail 4.7.4 and an IMAP account. No filter
configured.
The behavior is different to Bug 295484, because the emails are not touched on
the server and can be shown by other email clients. It happens almost only to
multipart mails, but not to all. I have mails that look structurally almost
equal, but one is shown properly and the other one not at all.

hm, F5 doesn't change anything -- in which context should i press it?

also, i'm not sure what "the folders are offline" means? i get e-mails as
usual, they're filtered into subfolders and i can work with those folders
normally. is that supposed to happen with "offline" folders?

i only use POP3 accounts, btw.

[Bug 295542] the local folders list is greyed out, but functional

2012-03-08 Thread m . eik michalke
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295542

ok, found something: in the akonadi settings, the "Maildir" resource said
"ready", while the icon was not showing a green light as on the other
resources, but a small plug symbol. i pressed "edit", saw that it was correctly
configured to ~/.local/share/local-mail,
pressed "ok", the plug became a green light and the folders were shown as i'd
expect it.

it seems akonadi doesn't completely finish opening this resource, allthough it
gets marked as "ready". i've noticed a similar issue with my calendar resource
-- first it doesn't load successfully, but when i simply do "edit" and "ok"
without changing anything, i get the green light.

[Bug 295091] Kontact crash when delete email

Branislav Klocok changed:

This seems similar to my problem, but I have found a combination of actions,
where Kontact crashes always:
- Open Kontakt
- Go to any email
- Click on the email address in the header of the selected email to compose a
new message to this email
- start writing something to the message body
- Crash

Here is the back-trace:

[Bug 295550] New: Retrieving mails is very slow

2012-03-08 Thread Daniel Faust
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295550

Bug ID: 295550
  Severity: normal
   Version: 4.8
  Priority: NOR
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org
  Assignee: er...@kde.org
Summary: Retrieving mails is very slow
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: hessija...@gmail.com
  Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: NEW
 Component: IMAP resource
   Product: Akonadi

When clicking on a mail in kmail it takes very long until the mail is
displayed. I had a look at it with the akonadiconsole and watched the
kmail2-xx tab in the debugger.
I have some logs I'm willing to send you but I don't think it's a good idea to
post them here.

It seems that especially these queries are slow:
189 OK SEARCH completed
190 SEARCH "prefix
nco:SELECT DISTINCT
?person WHERE { graph ?g { ?person
 ?itemId . ?person a
nco:PersonContact ; nco:hasEmailAddress ?email . ?email nco:emailAddress
\"...@gmail.com\"^^ . } }"
FULLPAYLOAD EXTERNALPAYLOAD (UID REMOTEID REMOTEREVISION COLLECTIONID FLAGS
SIZE DATETIME)

They sometimes show up multiple times, and it seems the more often they show up
the longer the retrieval takes.
And sometimes email addresses show up that don't seem to have anything to do
with the email that's being fetched.

Also the email headers seem to be fetched twice.
And doing a right click on an email to bring up the context menu takes very
long, too.

Well, I really don't know how I can provide you with more useful information so
let me know If you need something.

In KDE 4.7 a restart of akonadi fixed that problem but in KDE 4.8.1 this
doesn't seem to work anymore.

Also present in kde 4.8.1. I believe this affects all akonadi resources, so
that remote calendars and addressbooks are also not updated when this
brokenness is active.

On my system this state is entered after resume from suspend.

[Bug 295557] New: changing identity from composer does not change the message template

2012-03-08 Thread Anders Lund
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295557

Bug ID: 295557
  Severity: normal
   Version: 1.99.0
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: changing identity from composer does not change the
message template
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: and...@alweb.dk
  Hardware: Archlinux Packages
Status: NEW
 Component: composer
   Product: kmail2

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686) KHTML/4.8.1 (like Gecko)
Konqueror/4.8
Build Identifier:

I have some profiles with different templates.
My templates differs in language, in how the cursor is placed and have
different signature.

When changing the profile in composer, the language for spellchecking and the
signature is changed, but the template and cursor position is not.

This is a regression, worked fine in kdepim 4.4.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. configure two identities with different templates for example for reply to
messages
2. reply to a message
3. in composer, change the identity of the new message
Actual Results:
template is not changed

Expected Results:
the composer should apply the correct template, at the very least while the
message is unaltered

[Bug 295558] New: cursor is misplaced replying

2012-03-08 Thread Anders Lund
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295558

Bug ID: 295558
  Severity: normal
   Version: 1.99.0
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
   Summary: cursor is misplaced replying
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: and...@alweb.dk
  Hardware: Archlinux Packages
Status: NEW
 Component: composer
   Product: kmail2

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686) KHTML/4.8.1 (like Gecko)
Konqueror/4.8
Build Identifier:

When replying to a message, composer places the cursor directly after the
quote, no matter the template.

I have one template with
%QUOTE
%CURSOR

and one
%CURSOR

%QUOTE

In both cases the cursor is placed at the end of the last line of the quote.
For the second template, the empty lines are inserted at the top.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. check your reply template for where the cursor should be, and make sure it
should go on a new line, and that %QUOTE is used (just use the standard
template)
2. reply to a message to start composer using the template
Actual Results:
cursor is at the end of the last line of the quote

Expected Results:
cursor should adhere the template, the standard is to put it on a blank line
below the quote.
