[Bug 301812] Kmail crashes when writing new mails or answering/forwarding mails

2012-06-14 Thread Ralph Moenchmeyer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301812

--- Comment #5 from Ralph Moenchmeyer r...@anracon.de ---
How could I as an end user conclude that it is a soprano bug and not an
interface bug of Kmail? Or both? By the way have a look at Bug #301625.

[Bug 301881] New: Akonadi/IMAP crashed after startup when connecting to a server with unknown SSL certificiate

2012-06-14 Thread Dennis Schridde
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301881

Bug ID: 301881
  Severity: crash
   Version: 4.8
  Priority: NOR
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org
  Assignee: er...@kde.org
Summary: Akonadi/IMAP crashed after startup when connecting to
a server with unknown SSL certificiate
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: devuran...@gmx.net
  Hardware: Gentoo Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: IMAP resource
   Product: Akonadi

Application: akonadi_imap_resource (4.8)
KDE Platform Version: 4.8.4 (4.8.4)
Qt Version: 4.8.2
Operating System: Linux 3.4.2-gentoo x86_64
Distribution: NAME=Gentoo

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I logged into my account, KWallet asked me for my password on behalf of
Akonadi, Akonadi started to request permission to access several servers with
unknown/untrusted SSL certificates, Akonadi/IMAP crashed.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
SSL certificates for several servers were suddenly unknown/untrusted. I did not
change the (self signed) cert on any of the servers and they are all still
valid (i.e. not expired), I had an exception formulated for all of them, and I
accessed these servers in the past (in fact just yesterday) without Akonadi
mentioning any issue like unknown certs. Only today Akonadi decided to not
trust them anymore.

[Bug 301625] kmail crashes during startup (segfault)

--- Comment #16 from Ralph Moenchmeyer r...@anracon.de ---
I had this and other problems with Kontact/Kmail 4.8.4 on Opensuse 12.1 x86_64.
See bug #301812. I found a workaround in one of Opensuse's forums. See the
contribution of UNIX-Pete at:

http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/476040-re-kmail.html

Quote: Using the soprano packages from Index of
/repositories/KDE:/Unstable:/SC/openSUSE_12.1 I could manage to get the
segfault issues in kmail and gwenview of the KDE 4.8.4 release fixed.

I then combined KDE 4.8.4 from Opensuse's KDE Release Factory with the soprano
RPMs from the KDE Unstable Repository as suggested. It worked ! Kmail can be
started again from the command line. ( However, the message
kmail2(5266)/kdepimlibs (mailtransport): Could not access Outbox.
remains. )

[Bug 277705] KMail crashes if nepomuk is enabled

--- Comment #30 from David Faure fa...@kde.org ---
My theory would be that nepomuk corrups memory in QThreadStorage stuff, which
then makes KTraderParse crash (it uses its own QThreadStorage, but maybe Qt
puts these close to each other in memory). A bit far-fetched though, only a
valgrind log would tell.

In other news, there have been fixes in nepomuk very recently, to fix crashes
with older versions of soprano, so maybe it fixes this.

[Bug 277705] KMail crashes if nepomuk is enabled

2012-06-14 Thread K Woelfel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277705

--- Comment #31 from K Woelfel k.woel...@gmx.de ---
(In reply to comment #29)

Sorry, my previous comment was wrong. After disabling nepomuk, I did not kill
remaining nepomuk related processes, that was why the crash still happened.
When I disable nepomuk and reboot, than the crash does definitely not happen
anymore.

I would also like to not that the crash happened after updating from 4.8.3 to
4.8.4 on OpenSuSe.

 Created attachment 71758 [details]
New crash information added by DrKonqi

 kmail (4.8.4) on KDE Platform 4.8.4 (4.8.4) release 511 using Qt 4.8.2

Finally, my here prvious reported crash seems not to be related to nepomuk,
because I deactivated nepomuk and the same crash happend again.

kmail (4.8.3) on KDE Platform 4.8.3 (4.8.3) using Qt 4.8.1

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I open a HTML e-mail, when open a second HTML e-mail Kmail always crash.

Other info:

If in security settings If I disable to prefer HTML, the Kmail requires to
enable HMTL in every single email, this way Kmail wont crash.

If the setting is set to prefer HTML, Kmail open email with HTML automatic this
way the second e-mail I read will make Kmail crash everytime.

Only happen with this new KDE (4.8.3) I had no issues with KDE 4.7

I'm still seeing this behavior in beta2. Can you reconsider the FIXED status,
please?

[Bug 301812] Kmail crashes when writing new mails or answering/forwarding mails

2012-06-14 Thread Ralph Moenchmeyer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301812

--- Comment #8 from Ralph Moenchmeyer r...@anracon.de ---
(In reply to comment #6)
you wrote So something seems to be wrong with the soprano RPMs of version.
2.7.6 or its combination with Kmail 4.8.4 in Opensuse's KDE repositories .
With the soprano RPMs of version 2.7.56 things are back to normal again.

so you tested it no ?

I tested it as described. By installing different soprano RPMs.
Doesn't tell me much about why there was a version mismatch between Kmail and
soprano and the technical reasons behind it. Hope the next repository updates
of Opensuse for KDE 4.8.4 will remedy everything.

Confirmed with kubuntu 12.04:
904 emails, many duplicates. moving some duplicates into a separate tst folder
and do ctrl+* works, but not in my folder with many duplicates. It looks like
as soon as there are duplicates of more than one email, the process doesn't
work.

[Bug 301925] New: KMail2 shows accented characters with wrong encoding in the message list panel, but not in other places

2012-06-14 Thread Marcelo Sales
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301925

Bug ID: 301925
  Severity: normal
   Version: 4.8.3
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: KMail2 shows accented characters with wrong encoding
in the message list panel, but not in other places
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: mmtsa...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: message list
   Product: kmail2

Some messages have their subjects displayed in the message list panel with
garbage where there should be accented characters. However, in the message view
panel, the same messages have their subject displayed correctly. Also, if the
message is opened in a separate window, its subject is displayed correctly both
in the window title and inside de message window.
Only in the message list panel the subject is displayed incorrectly.
See attached images.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Subject is displayed correctly in the message window title and body

This is the second highlighted message in the first image. The subject is
displayed incorrectly in the message list panel, as seen in the first image,
but is displayed correctly when the message is opened in a separate window.

New crash information added by DrKonqi

kontact (4.8.4) on KDE Platform 4.8.4 (4.8.4) release 511 using Qt 4.8.2

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

It seems that I can either access the calendar or the addressbook from within
kontact but not both. I've adjusted and readjusted the akonadi config but
nothing allows both to be used concurrently. All except ToDo seem to work OK
standalone
