(you can send in private login/password) thanks a lot.

Could you install debug package on your computer to generate a good backtrace ?

Running "akonadictl fsck" in a terminal does not output anything.

I try to modify my filters and now (akonadi 1.8.1 and kdepim 4.9.2 on
Archlinux) all the message from the last time I modified the filters keep
reappearing (and then refiltered) in the inbox endlessy until I kill kmail

plugin
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: and...@alweb.dk
  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
 Component: DAV Resource
   Product: Akonadi

I would very much like to use the calendar krunner to add events and todos, but
specifying my owncloud resource for inserting events aind tasks does not work.
Events show up in "birthdays and anniversarys" resource or somewhere else
random.

Sorry if this should be filed somewhere else, but where?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select your owncloud calendar in the calendar krunner settings
2. have some other writeble resources
3. enter an evnet or task in krunner ("event test;today" for example)

Actual Results:
event is added to birthdays & anniversories resource (or an other calendar)

Expected Results:
event is added to selected owncloud calendar

[Bug 308952] New: Messages disappear after folder rename

2012-10-24 Thread Kjetil Kilhavn
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=308952

Bug ID: 308952
  Severity: critical
   Version: 4.8.5
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Messages disappear after folder rename
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: kje...@kilhavn.no
  Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: folders
   Product: kmail2

This bug seems related to 308378 - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=308378
- but I do not get any messages about the folder not existing. Therefore I
decided to post it as a new report.
I was also unsure whether it should be reported as a Akonadi or KMail2 problem,
feel free to reassign :-)

In a (local) folder I had three messages.
I renamed the folder (from Vivaldi to Plasma Active, not that it should matter)
and moved three more messages to the folder.
In the message list, all messages were displayed, but only the new messages
would be displayed when selected.

I suspected the problem was related to the renaming of the folder.
Now, in slight desperation, I tried several tricks, so my memory is perhaps not
complete. As a software developer I should be sensible enough to write down the
steps once I suspected it was a bug - but unfortunately I was not.

Now, as I am writing this, I have two folders. One named Plasma Active and one
named Vivaldi. I believe the Vivaldi is the original folder re-named again in
the hope that the messages would magically reappear, and the Plasma Active is a
new folder I created (sibling of Vivaldi). However, memory may serve me wrong,
and I may also have renamed the folder more than twice.

Anyway, the end result was that none of the folders displayed any messages!
However, in disk folder
"~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory/.KDE.directory/Vivaldi/new" the original
three messages are present - so the mail has not been lost.

The three new messages I had moved to the folder after renaming it mysteriously
disappeared, but were found again in the inbox and sent mail folders - who said
computers are not intelligent!

I tried to move one of those messages to the Plasma Active folder. The message
now appears in both the Plasma Active folder and the Vivaldi folder in KMail,
but on disk it is found in the
"~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory/.KDE.directory/Plasma Active/new" folder.

I closed KMail (Kontact) and re-opened it. That did not solve or create any
problems, i.e. the Plasma Active and Vivaldi folders still show the message I
moved to the Plasma Active folder - and the folders on disk still have the
correct messages as described above.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a local folder and move a message into it.
2. Rename the folder and move another message into it.
3. Click on the message you first moved into the folder to display it.
Actual Results:
Message is not displayed in message view area.

Expected Results:
Message is displayed in message view area.

Although the data are not actually lost they appear to be lost, and only people
who know where to look will find the messages. If KMail had been able to
restore correct display after a restart the problem would not be as severe as
it now (in my opinion) is.

I have proof in the form of screenshots of akonadiconsole browser, that my
contacts akonadi IDs are changed. The remote IDs remain, but akonadi gives
them all new IDs regularly. This is an owncloud/webdav resource.

Apart from CPU abuse, this also means that my groups are emptied, groups
feature is unusable for me.

I am having this issue with Kmail2 - 4.8.5.

In addition, attempting to send an email hangs. The problem appears to clear
itself after several minutes, and is happening so frequently that it disrupts
my workflow, given that email is mission critical in my work.

The problem appeared along many others after I upgraded my kubuntu-10.04 system
to kubuntu-12.04 several weeks ago. I have setup a kubuntu-12.04 VM and will
attempt to migrate to a clean install to see whether that could solve the
issue.

It's gotten so bad that I have also installed Evolution and considering
abandoning Kmail2/Kontact which has worked so well for me over the last 12
years.

Now if you for example add two Jabber/XMPP accounts to one contact, they are
separated by a non-utf-8 character I can't quite determine what is.

X-JABBER:x...@jabber.orgx...@dukgo.com

Again, why not use a proposed standard, which will be in the next vCard

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. akonadictl restart
Actual Results:
Crash. The resource crashes several more times before Akonadi gives up on
starting it.

Expected Results:
Akonadi starts and syncs Google calendar.

The Browser in the Akonadi Console shows that I have ten events in my Google
calendar, eight of which have Remote Ids, and two of which do not. All of them,
when clicked on, show vCalendar content in both the Payload pane and the Raw
Payload pane.

I'm by default in html mode, so when i click on the mail, kmail try to fetch
the image.
And so between the time it send his request to the web server and ask me for a
password, i was able to start draggin.

The mail come from a website which is under development, so to prevent people
to look at it, we put a .htaccess files who prompt for username/password for
every file.
So when we receive this mail, the .htaccess do his job ;)

I can try to make a simple mail who trigger this bug and host the image if you
want ?

I have a similar issue with axigen server.

After some googling I found a similar problem with possible explanation due to
number of allowed IMAP connections:
http://www.axigen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9454

The solution there worked for the reporter. I can not test it here, can anyone
increase the number of allowed connection in their setup?

Is it possible that KMail tries to open anothe IMAP connection when moving
files to the sent folder?

How about waiting for 30 seconds or so before removing the temporary file?

The problem is, when I'm looking through the mail switching e.g. 10 emails per
second, Gwenview doesn't have a chance to open a attached image.

"Right, that's another symptom. I don't remember if it never shows the dialog,

So now it's load directly or not ?

With my patch it can show dialogbox before we can't show it (or arrived after a
long time).
So it's better for you or not ?

[Bug 303861] Can't write CalDav items from korganizer

As CalDav and CardDav share a lot of code, including the access rights
management, my best guess would be that DavMail replies differently. The only
way to be sure would be with a network capture.

> For me it

Full access can be granted if the CardDav answer does not contain any
privileges specification or explicitly states that all privileges are granted.
Without the XML of the exchange it's impossible to tell which is happening.

I'll insist heavily on that: a network capture speeds up the debugging
drastically. It only took a couple of minutes to find the problem once Hans
sent me one. If you need the process (with Wireshark) I have it at hand :)

Cheers,
Grégory

Agreed with #6. I do believe I saw proper behavior for a few days right after
4.9.2 hit Ubuntu's Universe repository; but now, the old behavior is back.
Should we re-open another of those bugs?

[Bug 303861] Can't write CalDav items from korganizer

2012-10-24 Thread Jens Westemeier
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=303861

Thanks for fixing that - I will test 4.9.3 as soon as it is available.
Nevertheless, there was a different behavior between access rights of calendar
and contact items. Contacts allway worked with davmail. For me it seems, that
there might be an underlying bug in carddav ignoring the access rights at all.
I can't test for that since I have write access allways on carddav items.
Grégory, can you please check for the same mechanism in caldav and carddav?

Thanks, Jens.
