[Bug 310137] New: Nasty Unicode corruption bug when saving a contact to a remote CardDAV server

2012-11-15 Thread Antonis Kanouras
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310137

Bug ID: 310137
  Severity: critical
   Version: 1.8.1
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Nasty Unicode corruption bug when saving a contact to
a remote CardDAV server
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: antonis+kdeb...@metadosis.gr
  Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: DAV Resource
   Product: Akonadi

I'm not sure if the DAV resource is responsible for this, here goes anyway.
I can reliably reproduce this bug in KDE 4.9.2-3 with the Radicale
CalDAV/CardDAV server.

Under some circumstances, if the Notes field of a contact contains non-ascii
characters (I assume, I'm writing Greek in it), any non-ascii character in the
*whole* contact (not only in the Notes field) will be corrupted.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new contact under a DAV resource's contacts folder
2. Fill its notes field with the following string:
αβγδεζηθικλμνξοπρστυφχψωαβγδεζηθικλμνξοπρστυφχψωαβγδεζηθικλμνξοπρστυφχψωα
(unquoted of course)
3. Save the contact, and wait for it to be transmitted to the CardDAV server
Actual Results:
The contact is transmitted corrupted to the server and Akonadi is none the
wiser.

Expected Results:
The contact is transmitted intact to the server.

I've noticed that these contacts when exported from Kaddressbook (or by looking
at .local/share/contacts/) tend to break wide characters between lines. They
are imported correctly however.

I don't think this is server specific, however a pip install radicale should
be enough for you to reproduce the bug; the server can be run right after being
downloaded without configuration, and using a URL such as
http://localhost:5232/myuser/mycontacts.vcf/;.

Feel free to ask me for more details.

Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: silver.salo...@gmail.com
  Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: composer
   Product: kmail2

I have configured a reply-to address for one of my identities. Also I've
configured 1 folder to use that identity. When I now create message while being
in that folder, that identity is used, but my name is added to reply-to address
(it should not). When I use the same identity by changing identity from
composer, the name is not added.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create an identity with reply-to address
2. Set that identity to be used for some folder
3. Create a message (new message or reply or forward) while being in that
folder
Actual Results:
My name is added to reply-to address

Expected Results:
Reply-to address should be as set in identity

I use IMAP-account.

A netword trace showed I was a bit trigger-happy with the report.

The vcard is transmitted with wide characters broken between lines (at 79 chars
no matter what), which makes the server corrupt the whole card. That's next up
for investigation.

Downgrading and trying to reassign. Sorry for the noise.

[Bug 310141] New: When responding to a message, From address gets truncatet on non-ASCII characters

2012-11-15 Thread Marc González Majoral
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310141

Bug ID: 310141
  Severity: minor
   Version: 4.9.3
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: When responding to a message, From address gets
truncatet on non-ASCII characters
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: gons...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: composer
   Product: kmail2

When you choose to respond a message and composer opens, if the From field
gets autopopulated with an address that contains non-ASCII characters, it gets
truncated, or at least if its an á.

The domain I'm using is marcgonzález.com and its the default account when
sending. When i choose to respond a message, address appears as xxx@marcgonz.
The first time I responded to a message I didn't notice it was truncated so the
receiving server said the address was not valid. Took some minutes to realize
what the problem was.

I understand that the domain is really xn--marcgonzlez-r7a.com, but it should
be converted transparently to the user, like for example web browsers do. The
domains apparently aren't being converted anywhere in Kmail (for example I have
to configure the accounts as xn--marcgonzlez-r7a.com or they won't work), but I
don't feel that's a bug, rather than a lack of a basic feature.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive a message
2. Respond to that message using a default sending account with the domain
containing non-ASCII characters (á in my case)
Actual Results:
Address' domain gets truncated

Expected Results:
Domain shouldn't get truncated

Just to be precise (I just gave my reproducing procedure another go and the
results are the same):
1. I set 'silver.salo...@mydomain.com' as reply-to address
2. From 'Folder Properties...' I choose that new identity as 'Sender identity'
3. When I create a new message while being in that folder, reply-to address is
set to 'Silver Salonen silver.salo...@mydomain.com'.
4. When I choose some other identity and choose the previous identity again,
reply-to address is set to 'silver.salo...@mydomain.com' (correctly now)

I can confirm the for KDE 4.9.3 vs. an Exchange 2010 server. In my case, this
is caused by the following:
KIMAP sends: A02 AUTHENTICATE GSSAPI
KIMAP recvs: +
KIMAP cancels challenge.

Exchange sends an empty continuation for GSSAPI authentication. The client has

[Bug 310172] New: caldav carddav don't work with ownCloud 4.5.1

2012-11-15 Thread Andre
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310172

Bug ID: 310172
  Severity: critical
   Version: 4.9
  Priority: NOR
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: caldav carddav don't work with ownCloud 4.5.1
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: m...@mail.ru
  Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: DAV Resource
   Product: Akonadi

There is no calendar synchronization. CarDAV resource not even in the calendars
list. The URL for calendar is correct and functional.
CardDAV works strange. I can import my google contacts into kontact's cardDAV
calendar, then they do appear in ownCloud. But after editing a field in a
contact all items disapear from the kontact's list. Contacts imported directly
into owncloud aren't shown in kontact.
Reproducible 100% in my enviroment:
openSUSE 12.2
KDE 4.9.3
ownCloud 4.5.1 from susestudio

[Bug 308226] Custom message templates for different identities don't work properly

2012-11-15 Thread Pal Körössy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=308226

--- Comment #2 from Pal Körössy koross...@freemail.hu ---
(In reply to comment #1)
 normal it's new message
= template doesn't know to before to create it.

You're right, the name inserting issue should be a wish instead.
But cursor position is not at the right place, so this bug needs to be
reopened.

Please add an option to only fetch calendar items whose end-date is later than

[Bug 283682] KMail duplicates filtered messages

2012-11-15 Thread Christian Trippe
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283682

--- Comment #54 from Christian Trippe christiande...@web.de ---
I still get duplicated messages with KDE 4.9.3 when downloading mails from a
pop3 account which then get directly moved to a subfolder via a filter. Both
the original and the duplicate message are displayed in the destiantion folder
of the filter and you can remove the duplicate by right click on the folder
and choosing refresh folder.

[Bug 310177] New: Birthdays are not fetched when year is not set

Bug ID: 310177
  Severity: normal

CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Assignee: dvra...@redhat.com
Summary: Birthdays are not fetched when year is not set
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: k...@riseup.net
  Hardware: openSUSE RPMs
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: Google Resource
   Product: Akonadi

Google contacts resource fetches birthdays from Google only when the year is
set. I know that Kaddressbook doesn't alow for birthadys without year
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=190782), but until this is fixed, please
use some workaround, because when some other data in such a contact is changed,
the birthday is lost also on Google.
The year could be set to 1000 for example.

Reproducible: Always
