We should really add the following day as well, because it is an official
holiday through Switzerland. The fact that one or two cantons do not follow
the federal line is not relevant here: at least they also know the special
holiday and have to take it in account when dealing with other cantons and the
federal government.

[kdepimlibs] [Bug 280073] Add Swiss holiday translations into German, Italian and Rumantsch

2013-01-19 Thread Dominik
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=280073

--- Comment #8 from Dominik domi...@wezel-mueggler.org ---
As to Rumantsch (Rätoromanisch), the fourth official Swiss language
(holiday_ch_rm):
It is hard to provide this translation, because the language is split in
several dialects, all of them equally common but quite distinct, and I am also
not sure whether it makes sense to provide the translation in the first place,
due to the following three facts:
• The part of Switzerland where these dialects are used is very small.
• Every single inhabitant of this part also speaks either German, Italian, or
both.
• There is no way to set the system language to ch_RM on any computer platform
I know (and I know quite a lot of them); all those speaking Rumantsch thus have
to choose either ch_DE or ch_IT as their system language setting.

still there with 4.9.98

further example: filters do not work automatically

manual method sort of works

cntl-A (select all) - message - apply filter - apply all filters

nothing happens until deselecting select all - then messages are correctly
sorted to folders

deleting $HOME/.kde/share/config/kmail2rc works around the crash.
Accounts stay defined (just select cancel on next launch of Kontact when asked
to define accounts), one does lose the UI config, annoying but I can live with
this.

Unfortunately it's too late for 4.10. Nonetheless, your needs are legitimate
and so if enough users show their support, I (or anyone else) will trim the
file to your liking.

In the meantime, know that you could copy
/usr/share/apps/libkholidays/plan2/holiday_fr_fr to
~/.kde4/share/apps/libkholidays/plan2 and edit it to your liking. You'll need
to disable/enable the calendar or logout to see the changes.

PS: just for kicks, take a look at the file for New Zealand and despair at its
completeness

--- Comment #23 from Jonathan Marten j...@keelhaul.me.uk ---
Git commit 8ad83768ca26a6cbded59d5f7714bd0d3e1d0b26 by Jonathan Marten.
Committed on 19/01/2013 at 18:30.
Pushed by marten into branch 'master'.

Embed Expiry into Folder Properties

The original Expire actions (in the Folder menu bar menu and
folder list popup) remain present, they open the Folder Properties
dialogue at the appropriate tab.

As noted in comments in KMMainWidget::setupActions(), there is
still inconstency between the wording of the action and what it does.

Hooray, a seven year old wish finally implemented!

[kmail2] [Bug 313516] New: Make Group by subject more intelligent, i.e. fuzzy

2013-01-19 Thread Matthias Nagel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313516

Bug ID: 313516
Summary: Make Group by subject more intelligent, i.e. fuzzy
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.9.3
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: mh-na...@web.de

I like to group my mails by subject. Actually this works quite well, but there
is one very annoying problem:

The mails are only grouped if the subject lines matches exactly. This means,
everytime a mail is answered or forwarded and thereby extended by a Fwd: or
Re: in the subject line, the mails are not grouped together.

Please modify the grouping decision such that words like Fwd:, Re: and so
on are ignored. (Probably additional or missing blanks at the beginning/end are
wise to be ignored, too.)

Otherwise grouping by subject is worseless in most cases.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Take a email folder and set the view such that the mails are grouped by
subject
2. Write an email with subject line Foo.
3. Wait for an answer with subject line Re: Foo or Fwd: Foo
Actual Results:
The mails with the subject lines
Foo, Re: Foo, Fwd: Foo, Re: Fwd: Re: Foo and so on
are not grouped together.

Expected Results:
Mails with the same subject line excecpt for the keywords Re:, Fwd: and
similar are groups together.

Hooray, a seven year old wish finally implemented!

Congratulations!

Are you considering removing the old menu items in a future release? It might
be confusing having duplicate items. I think I'd be confused.

[kdepimlibs] [Bug 288142] French Kalendar

2013-01-19 Thread John Layt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288142

Sadly I haven't got around to implementing proper categories or separate
religious files yet, I may try for that next release.

My usual recommendation is to have all public holidays included, and all major
commemorative dates that are culturally significant (Mothers Day, etc). I
usually recommend against including all the Saints days unless the country is
particularly devout, but the most significant religious festivals are welcome.
However it is up to each country to decide for themselves what is culturally
appropriate.

We can break each region out use the tier 2 ISO code, unfortunately each time
we do we need a new translation string for the region name, so this can only be
done each point release.

If there are any holidays that are wrong, then changing the Holiday files
themselves can be considered a bug fix so can go out with the next bugfix
release. I'd probably even consider trimming a too long file as a usability
bug fix.

I'm not sure why the NZ file has so many religious holidays, we're not a very
devout bunch :-)
