[akregator] [Bug 313961] New: Feature: add to online bookmarking / offline reading services

2013-01-27 Thread seawolf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=313961

Bug ID: 313961
Summary: Feature: add to online bookmarking / offline reading
services
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: akregator
   Version: 4.9.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ben+...@seawolfsanctuary.com

Users of ReadItLater, Intsapaper etc. add web pages to their reading list, for
an application on various devices to fetch and then download for offline
reading. Users of bookmarking services similarly add web pages to a list for
later online reading.

As many users' feeds added to Akregator will include articles that are lengthy
or considered interesting later, would it be useful to also send URLs to a
bookmarking or offline reading service, in a similar manner to feature of
sharing the article on a social network?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
(As this is a feature request, the following is how I feel the feature should
operate)

1. sign-up for an account with ReadItLater, Instapaper etc.
2. set up this service and account with Akregator
3. find an article for offline reading via an online service
Actual Results:
(As this is a feature request, the following demonstrates one way of acheiving
the desired results)

Users can manipulate the following features but in doing so loose the original
functionality provided:

 - share on a social network (set the API URL to the service of choice)
 - open in a tab and leave Akregator open
 - open in a browser tab and leave the browser open (set the browser path to
include a URL, e.g. chromium http://readitlater.com/add?url=%s;)

Expected Results:
(As this is a feature request, the following is how I feel the feature should
operate)

The URL is sent to the service for other devices to pick up. The user is
optionally notified of successes via the system notifications; failures show a
dialog with the error details.

Services support OAuth and/or HTTP authentication, so one would expect the
sharing service authentication logic to be used when configuring reading
services.

The Akregator settings should allow for use of many services by inputting the
URL, type of authentication needed and the user's authentication details.

Many thanks for the consideration, and for all efforts going into making
Akregator this damnned good!

I guess this is not a bug but a proposal
(my knowledge of english language is not the best)
I think I'm not the only gui, who has more than one Email-adress; what I don't
understand is, why can't I choose which adress to use when sending an email?!
Don't say: there is the line Identity above the to-field; if I use this I
get a funny mix of the other identity an the standard one.

Unable to send e-mail using SMTP account. KMail2 says An error occurred during
authentication: SASL(0): successful result:

Tried to use both SSL and TLS with and without authentication enabled, with
different authentication types, but nothing helped.
I'am using Gmail and corporate mail accounts, both don't sent e-mails. They use
different settings: TLS for gmail, corporate uses SSL.

KMail2 was able to send mails on 4.9.0.

Reproducibility - always, logout/login does not help, system restart too.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add SMTP account
2. Set settings using Auto detect button
3. Write mail and try to send it.

I'm using latest 4.9.4 KMail2 and it has the same problem.

Have looked to filter log and it seems that sometimes kmail can't get list of
addresses from 'To' or 'CC' from mail. All mails that was not filtered had
empty list in on of these fields in the log, but after manual filter invocation
they had all mail addresses.

 I don't understand your problem ?
you can choice it in composer and define from identity or folder property.

What do you want to improve ?
Dear Mr. Montel,

that's my problem with English: what is composer in German?

What I would like to have is: when I press the send-button (e.g. send the
email) I would be liked to be asked wether I will send the email over my
standard-account or over any of my other accounts. -- best perhaps, if I can
choose in Einstellungen (properties?), wether I'd be liked to be asked or
always use the standard-account.

I have three email-accounts, one of them is defined as standard, but up to
now I found no way to send an email over an not-standard-account. -- and
always before sending an email changing the setting in the properties is not
really comfortable.

Hope you know, what I mean, and hope, that will be arranged.
Best regards.
Gottfried Krause
