[kmail2] [Bug 314221] New: composer attaches directory without confirmation if also a file is selected
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314221 Bug ID: 314221 Summary: composer attaches directory without confirmation if also a file is selected Classification: Unclassified Product: kmail2 Version: unspecified Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: composer Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: franke.dan...@gmail.com Ubuntu 12.04, Kontact/KMail 4.8.5 In the "Attach File" dialog: I accidentally selected a folder (gigabytes of data, thousands of files) plus one extra file via [CTRL] and pressed "Attach". If only the folder is selected, a confirmation dialog pops up: "do you reallly want to attach this directory: ..., yes/no". Fair enough. With an additional file besides the directory, or with two directories, this dialog does not appear and the directory/directories are attached without further confirmation. In above case the kmail GUI froze while trying to pack ~5GB into a mail attachment. The only way to get it back was to kill kontact and start over. It might be good to (1) always show the confirmation dialog for every ddirectory that should be attached and (2) have a second confirmation dialog once a (configurable?) attachment limit is reached, say 10MB by default, confirm that really more files should be attached. And (3) maybe do the collecting/packing in a background worker thread instead of a GUI thread? Reproducible: Always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Akonadi] [Bug 314206] New: Korganizer and KAddressbook forgets that resources are enabled
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314206 Bug ID: 314206 Summary: Korganizer and KAddressbook forgets that resources are enabled Classification: Unclassified Product: Akonadi Version: 4.10 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: CONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: DAV Resource Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: and...@alweb.dk Gr. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. add a DAV resource with an owncloud service in the other end 2. add your calendars and addressbooks from the owncloud service 3. start kaddressbook or korganizer 4. First hit of misbehavior: The resources are not enabled. Enable them (after figuring it out). 5. exit 6. start again Actual Results: owncloud calendars or addressbooks are NOT enabled - some times Expected Results: of course resources should be enabled, ALWAYS. I eneabled them, didn't I?? Frankly, judging from experience and the amount of nempmuk activity, my guess is that akonadi DROPS resources, and then refinds them and assigns new id's. This is one of the things making one consider if linux and KDE is really worth the fight! Resources used to work, so we are evolving backwards. AGH. Sorry. [kmail2] [Bug 314096] kmail-4.9.5 "mark as read" keyboard shortcut stopped working, with message "ambiguous shortcut" (K)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314096 --- Comment #1 from Christian --- More info. I tried to set the corresponding shortcut to "K" (it said in the settings that the shortcut was "K", but because it didn't work I set it again). Upon the next startup of Kontact, the shortcut was forgotten (and didn't work any more). In the settings it just said for "Mark as Read": Default (none). Now I can set it to "K" and it works for a while, but upon clicking away the Kontact window, the shortcut is set to "none" again. (And doesn't work.) I'm not sure if it's specific to the "Mark as Read" action, or to the "K". But it is a bug that the setting is not saved. Also, I'm not sure if this is the same bug. But when I use the "Fancy" layout for the email list, the one that shows a small "unread" symbol on the list for unread messages. Also the clicking action on the unread symbol doesn't work. (As if it required the "K" shortcut instead of doing it via a click.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
