Hello,

Let me know if you need anything else. I will be glad to help.

[kmail2] [Bug 318005] New: promote OpenPGP (and S/MIME) services for non-crypto users

2013-04-08 Thread Hauke Laging
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318005

Bug ID: 318005
Summary: promote OpenPGP (and S/MIME) services for non-crypto
users
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
   URL: http://www.openpgp-schulungen.de/
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: crypto
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ha...@laging.de

Hardly anyone uses crypto. I assume that nearly everyone who is involved in the
development of crypto software would like this to change. My experience is that
quite few people decide completely by themselves to have a look at this topic.
I guess that the big majority of users has been contacted by others about this
and has been offered help.

For a few months I have been working on a non-commercial project (up to now
limited to Germany though) which aims at creating more free OpenPGP courses and
offer a list of these services to the public. The project web site is
http://www.openpgp-schulungen.de/ (German only).

My idea is that crypto-capable (but non-crypto-specific) software like KMail
should advertise such projects if it detects that it is configured for a
country in which one exists (I don't know of any similar project abroad yet)
and that OpenPGP is not used yet (and S/MIME neither). This could be done by an
additional menu entry OpenPGP or crypto which would just open a dialog
window with some short remarks about the OpenPGP support in KMail and the link
to the local project (and a link to a list of all these projects).

Until now I have been much more successful in improving my own OpenPGP course
than in helping creating such offers elsewhere but this is the second step
anyway and I am optimistic about that. And given the time wishlist entries
usually take to get done I think it's not a mistake to mention this here now.
;-) I will present this project at the next LinuxTag in Berlin (at the booth
of the Berlin LUG).

Furthermore: Given the amout of German KDE developers I guess there is a
certain chance that one or the other is interested in supporting this project
(or doing something similar in another country) though this is not about
programming (except for some scripting which I do myself).

Reproducible: Always

[kmail2] [Bug 318015] New: KMail2 does not recognize semantic capabilities when run stand-alone

2013-04-08 Thread Georg Greve
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318015

Bug ID: 318015
Summary: KMail2 does not recognize semantic capabilities when
run stand-alone
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.2
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: gr...@fsfe.org

Apparently Kmail does not see the semantic capabilites even when they are
active when being run stand alone. When opening the composer, I get the message

You do not have the semantic desktop system enabled. The following features
will not work correctly:
Recipient auto-completion
Distribution lists
Per-contact crypto preferences

with the Configure button. Which, if selected, brings me to the Nepomuk
preferences, where I see that everything is already enabled and nothing left to
enable.

So the suspicion is that Kmail does not see the semantic capabilities and thus
suggests to enable them. In the ideal world, it would use them even when
started as a standalone application, which is in some setups required due to
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312460

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable all semantic capabilities in KDE
2. Start KMail 2
3. Open compose
Actual Results:
Kmail warns that semantic capabilities should be turned on

Expected Results:
Kmail should use semantic capabilities

Unfortunately this fix in 4.10.1 means, that whenever the slightest problem
on the net occurs, my IMAP accounts produce four notifications:

Name: Connection lost
KMail: Connection lost
Name: killed
Name: killed

Then I have to restart the whole of akonadi or I have to restart the agent in
akonadi console multiple times until it gets back online.

Happens whenever: Downloading one E-Mail.

Before 4.10.1 this did not happen.

[kmail2] [Bug 318049] New: Message list gets blank after deleting message

2013-04-08 Thread l.mierzwa
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318049

Bug ID: 318049
Summary: Message list gets blank after deleting message
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: l.mier...@gmail.com

After upgrading to 4.10.2 (verified on ubuntu 12.10 with backport ppa and fresh
ubuntu 13.04 install) message list gets blank if I delete any message. After
selecting different folder and then going back to original folder list it is
displayed correctly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to folder containing more than 1 message
2. select any message and click delete button
Actual Results:
message list gets blank (doesn't show any message) but the folder on left panel
with folder tree shows that it contains messages (unread counter is also
displayed correctly)

Expected Results:
selected message should be removed from message list and remaining messages
should still be visible

if I select different folder and then go back to original folder it is
displayed ok, it happens only right after I delete any message

New crash information added by DrKonqi

akonadi_mailfilter_agent (4.10) on KDE Platform 4.10.1 using Qt 4.8.4

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Nothing, I was away from my computer and the screen was locked. Probably this
crash was triggered by an email arriving on an IMAP account.

I confirm the bug with KDE 4.10.2:
- recent addresses autocompletion: activated and working
- use of akonadi_googlecontacts_resource (setup and correctly working, I mean
syncronization)
- in Gmail Contacts I have only two groups: My Contacts Other Contacts

Note: if I manually select the address (i.e., I click the Select button), and I
start writing, the (Gmail) addresses are immediately found)
- nepomuk_feeder: working
- Akonadi: normally working

Ok, I still don't think that this behaviour is correct, but it's definitely not
a problem of KMail, so I'm closing this. I resolved the problem by deleting the
Nepomuk database as well.

a fix has been found and committed to version 4.10.3 so I set this to resolved.

for version 4.10.2 one can use a workaround described in kdeforums here:

It doesn't seem to be happening every time, I just booted Kubuntu and I could
delete most messages without this issue, but when I had only 2 messages left in

Bug ID: 318073
Summary: Kmail 4.8.5 will not send emails, yet receives them.
It errors on username and password not accepted (two
gmail accounts).
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: commands and actions
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: wbca3110...@gmail.com

On two different gmail accounts, I have tried to send emails for the last week
and they have failed under the claim the username and/or password were not
accepted. I know this to be incorrect because username and password have not
changed (as I determined via webmail logins).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compose Email (gmail only email provider attempted)
2. Send email
3. Get error message.
Actual Results:
Email sending failed: Failed to transport message. Authentication failed.
Most likely the password is wrong. The server responded: 5.7.1 Username and
Password not accepted. Learn more at
http://support.google.com/mail/answer/14257; then what appears to be hashcode
followed by - gsmtp.

Expected Results:
Email to be sent.
