Hi Grégory,

looking at the SabreDAV documentation they recommend using Web Debugging

go through it. Here is the result.

[libkgapi] [Bug 317974] Can't fetch from Google Calendar: Invalid request, service is not registered

2013-04-23 Thread Dan Vrátil

Sorry for taking so long with this. Although I know where the error comes from,
I can't see any code path leading to it.

Could you enable akonadi_googlecalendar_* in kdebugdialog, restart Akonadi from
console (akonadictl restart) and observe, whether any relevant output appears?
Most interesting would be to have URL of the request that is sent before this
error appears.

The good news is that this is fixed in KDE 4.11, where LibKGAPI and the
resources were almost completely rewritten.

SabreDAV author here. Just came across this.

The 501 error here is emitted by lighttpd, not sabredav. The request actually
never reaches sabredav in this case.

Lighttpd is a notoriously bad webserver. Which is too bad, as it had great
promise. At one point development pretty much stopped. I'd highly recommend
switching to something like nginx for anything beyond simple websites. DAV is a
very complex HTTP application, so you need a webserver that's very compliant ;)

[Akonadi] [Bug 318623] events added to google calendar by android phone belong to weird categories in korganizer

2013-04-23 Thread Lukas Schneiderbauer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318623

Created attachment 79390
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=79390&action=edit
.ics from google, .vcs from korganizer

phew.. that was not an easy task as it turned out.
What I have now is an "ics" file from google and and "vcs" file from
korganizer. I hope this suffices (it seems one cannot get a vcs from google
directly).

If you look at it you'll notice this line in _both_:
"CATEGORIES:http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#event";
1) obviously it's one category, not two.
2) okay, it's in both, so this category is google's fault. Nevertheless it
would be nice if kde could simply ignore this kind of category and
automatically get rid of this category in its events.
I mean.. it doesn't seem to serve any purpose at all, does it?

it can't work in KMail2, filtering is apply after that mail is moved in local

=> so it will never work with actual method.

[Akonadi] [Bug 318641] Cal-/CardDAV Resource one-way sync only

2013-04-23 Thread Tim Drub
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318641

Hi Evert,
thanks for joining the converation.

OK, so I might consider switching the underlying webserver although I don't
really understand why it is working for iOS and other clients then.

Please correct me if I am wrong but when its lighttpd throwing that 501 then
the problem lies in the header and not the XML payload, right? So which part of
the headers is not implemented by lighttpd?

Regards
Tim

PS Latest lighttpd release dates from fall 2012 that's not too bad, is it?

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318641

My best guess would be the Depth header that's the problem. Checking the RFCs
it appears that for CalDAV the client SHOULD NOT set it, while for CardDAV the
client MUST set it to 0. So in fact none of the above clients are compliant…
I'll see for a patch to this.

ok, seems this is related to te missing "Authorization" header in the Akonadi
request, see here http://redmine.lighttpd.net/issues/2341

As i am running a conservative Debian server here I am probably on an outdated
version of lighttpd (1.4.28).

Gregory, would you expect this to work if littp returned a 401 no authorized?

Thanks for the help.

Hi Gregory,

I don't think it is anythig related to CalDAV or CardDAV standards since this
is all handled by SabreDAV and not the underlying webserver. Since the 501
comes from lighttpd I doubt it's the "Depth" header.

I'd say I need to get a newer version running, though I am. ot sure when I'll
find the time to do that. Thanks for your help and sorry for bringing up this
false positive.

Nice find! It's indeed likely you have the same issue.

> Gregory, would you expect this to work if littp returned a 401 no authorized?

As this works this way with other web servers I'd say yes.

Indeed. However as this behavior is not RFC-compliant it's always better to fix
it.

I found that for me restarting kmail is enough to get the check going again. I
might have to be persistant about it though (make sure kmail isn't running in
the background). If all else fails "akonadictl restart" works. None of this is
acceptable though.

Bernhard,

Have you tested your patch? If so, does it work as intended? I'm still a bit
worried about the "BUT be carefull it is not tested!" part in comment #5 :)

If you're satisfied with it I can ask for a first informal review on the
kde-...@kde.org mailing list, but it's better if you can confirm that it's at
least working for you.

Cheers,

I get this error message too. My Google Calendar resource has been configured a
long time ago, but only recently this error message started appearing, so I
would say the problem was introduced in KDE 4.10 or one of its point releases.

This particular error message affects only Google Calendar, though a few days
ago I tried to edit a Google contact and there was an error message displayed
too, albeit a different one.

kdebugdialog doesn't list any akonadi_google* item. The closest ones are
akonadiresource(ical) and akonadiserializer(calendar).
