[kdepimlibs] [Bug 312840] Procedure to fix and upload namedays holidays for the Greek language

2013-04-26 Thread Dimitrios Glentadakis
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312840

I see eg in the French file with the mothers day that the moveable feast date
is defined with a specific way:

: Mothers' day, move if clashes with Pentecost
"Fête des mères"( ( [last sunday in may] == ([easter] + 49 days) )
? [first sunday in june] : [last sunday in may] )
: or 'first sunday in june' if same day as Pentecôte

Do i have to do the same with the Greek file ?
For now, i wrote the rules of the moveable feast days in a python way at least
to be understood by the maintainer

Thanks

After sending a message, sometimes the Unread and Total counts for the outbox
folder in the folder list are 1. This is despite there being a notification
that the message was sent, and the fact that the message is visible in the
sent-mail folder.

When clicking on outbox in the folder list, the count immediately clears, and
nothing is displayed in the message panes.

Reproducible: sometimes.

I don't believe this happened before 4.10.

only way to get kmail2 to work again was to delete the account , wipe out any

[kmail2] [Bug 318949] New: XML in message body causes KMail to hang after every action

2013-04-26 Thread tjbp
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318949

Bug ID: 318949
Summary: XML in message body causes KMail to hang after every
action
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: kde@tjbp.net

I am often sent large quantities of XML pasted in an email, and when composing
my reply message I am faced with frequent hangs. KMail becomes completely
unresponsive, and starts to consume about 20% of my CPU time. The more XML, the
longer the hangs will last. The hang seems to be triggered when I first open
the composer to reply, and then again after 8 or so words I write.

I suspect this might have a connection to the greater-than signs used to indent
quoted text, and something attempting to parse them is getting confused by all
the greater-than signs in the XML.

Apologies if this is a duplicate or even already fixed (though I did search),
since I'm aware I'm not using the latest revision.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Send an email with a significant amount of XML (say ~100 elements) to
yourself.
2. Open a reply to that email.

I see the same, but only when I delete the lowest message in the message list.
Deleting messages from the top appears OK.
Also deleting the last message makes the message list empty, as it should, but
the deleted message is still visible in the message panel. In earlier versions
the message panel became empty.

2013-04-26 Thread fsanchez

Classification: Unclassified

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: franciscoadriansanc...@gmail.com

The problem is just what the tittle describes: when there are many replays to
an email, which are not shown on the list because they are moved to the right
of previous email, one has to resize the message list panel to reach last
emails.

Also, while resizing this panel, a scrollbar blinks below the list, put it
disappears almost immediately.

Since English isn't my native language, I'm afraid I'm not being clear, so I'm
attaching a screenshot.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Send and receive many emails replays to an email
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Messages are accumulated below the original email, moved to the right. If the
message list is narrow enough to not show last messages, there isn't any
horizontal scrollbar

Expected Results:
There should be an horizontal scrollbar

When Kmail starts the inbox folder is selected - I've configured doing so - but
the first message isn't (and preview pane stays empty). The same happens when I
switch to another folder. Select a folder, but first message or last read
message isn't selected.

I've found out that commits: 7362ab7e9c05626ef24216911cb4a2819e580c80 and
e0ace9ad6366edcd55ca0e4c91d74128cb0212b are the culprit.

Using kdepim-4.10.2-2.fc19.src.rpm I reverted both commits and the first/last
read message is selected again when starting kmail/switching folders.

I hope the jazz trio Niels Lan Doky in Copenhagen was not hindered by this bug.

It seems that I found the root of the problem. In davutils.cpp,
DavUtils::protocolName() returns a localized string while protocolByName
expects untranslated string.

It is easy to fix for new installations (just remove i18n() calls, will post a
review request tonight) but the real problems is to migrate old data. E.g., the
current code writes the localized names to config file.

On my computer, I've manually replaced old (localized) strings with the
original (CalDav, CardDav) but this didn't help until I removed and recreated
the resouce. Looking at the Akonadi logs, it seems that it tried to recreate a
collection with the same parentId and name.

[kmail2] [Bug 318924] New: KMail failed to write to socket when sending mail with smtp server with SSL encryption

2013-04-26 Thread fa
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318924

Bug ID: 318924
Summary: KMail failed to write to socket when sending mail with
smtp server with SSL encryption
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: crypto
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ti_or...@hotmail.fr

I have problems with KMail when I want to send a mail with a smtp server which
handles SSL encryption, a notification pops up saying that the transport
failed, and writing to socket failed.

I give a try with thunderbird and the same settings for the smtp server with
SSL and it works well. So the problem is with KMail or any related component
but I do not know where or what search to solve this issue.

The first time, I used the account wizard. The second time, I decided to
configure the smtp server manually after having removed it. So I have gone to
settings > Configure KMail > Accounts > sending tab > and I add the smtp server
with this settings : encryption SSL on port 465 (like thunderbird was set),
authentication plain, server requires authentication checked (with my correct
login/password).

The smtp server is not my own server, so I do not have any access to the server
logs unfortunately. The owner is a well known french mail service : laposte.net

I run into this issue on both KDE 4.9.5 on Kubuntu 12.04 and on KDE 4.10.2 on
Kubuntu 13.04.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Configure a smtp server with SSL encryption on port 465 with authentication
2.Send a mail with this smtp server

Actual Results:
The mail is not sent, the transport and writing to the socket failed

Expected Results:
The mail is sent !

[Akonadi] [Bug 318098] akonadi_imap_resource eats 100% CPU

The #316541 bug description (and steps to reproduce, and comments) don't
communicate that the problem is not related to Kmail shutdown, so I'd rather
not mark it as a duplicate. I'm not always having this issue and frankly, I
didn't notice high network consumption (although it's possible I simply missed
it). But if developers are sure it's a duplicate then surely they will mark it
as such and I'm ok with that.

[kmail2] [Bug 318915] New: Surplus angled bracket freezes sending operation

2013-04-26 Thread hara1br
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318915

Bug ID: 318915
Summary: Surplus angled bracket freezes sending operation
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.9.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: hara...@gmail.com

KMail version: 4.8.5, openSuSE 12.2
I composed an email with several recipients. One recipient address which I
copied from another email had a surplus angled bracket ">" at the end of the
string (my error, didn't catch it). When I pressed "Send", I saw a message
[quote]em...@domain.com>
The email address you entered is not valid because it contains too many closing
angle brackets.[/quote]
I cklicked OK and then the whole composer window with this email WAS GREYED OUT
and did not react to user actions.
There was no way to edit anything in this window, to close it or do anything
with it.
Apparently the error processing after the address check has a glitch because it
does not gracefully offer either
(a) that the user corrects the recipient address and tries again to send the
email, or, less desirable
(b) that the user can at least in a final action close the window where the
error occurred.

When I closed the KMail main window, a message appeared which offered that I
save the pending email to the Drafts folder which I did. I restarted KMail,
opened the email in the drafts folder and the offending recipient address had
been corrected!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compose a message with a wrong recipient address (example: surplus trailing
angle bracket)
2. Try to send it
3. Click on OK when KMail reports the error
4. Bingo, the "dead" window is there.
Actual Results:
Close the KMail program.
Accept to save the pending email to the drafts folder.
KMail AND THE GREYED-OUT window both close.
Restart KMail, open the saved email. It shows a corrected recipient address and
could now be sent if you want.

Expected Results:
Of course, no "dead" window.
Let the user manually correct the offending email address or, since KMail
obviously attempts to correct the address itself, present the user with this
corrected result and let him try a second time to send this email.

I can confirm the bug, the migration wizard created 2 separate resources, which
is not at all what I wanted.

[Akonadi] [Bug 318913] New: CPU consumption too high

The Job Tracker shows how Akonadi::SpecialMailCollectionsRequestJob are started
and terminated continuously, causing mysqld and akonadi itself to use 50% of
one of my cores, for doing absolutely nothing.

I am unaware of the internal implementation details and I've just updated to
kmail2 today, so I am pretty new, but since I had no outgoing emails I don't
see the reason for all this activity.

[kmail2] [Bug 318906] New: KMail replies by default to "sender" instead of "From" in distribution lists: unintended list spamming frequent

2013-04-26 Thread A . Sala
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318906

Bug ID: 318906
Summary: KMail replies by default to "sender" instead of "From"
in distribution lists: unintended list spamming
frequent
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: as...@isa.upv.es

When receiving mails from a distribution list, the field "sender" is usually
the list server agent.
However, the field "From" is the actual submitter of the message. To avoid
abusing the list, the default reply should be reply to the "From" address.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a list message in the inbox
2. Press "R" or select "Reply"

Actual Results:

Actual behaviour:
Default Reply replies to the whole list (wrong, in my opinion).
Reply to Author, Reply All: correct behaviour.

Expected Results:

Expected behaviour:
1. "Reply" action opens composer window with "TO:" extracted from "From:" field
in original message (same default as "reply to author"). [Or, perhaps, a dialog
reply to list or reply to author?] ... Other Clients do like this (Dynamic Mail
webmail).

Here you have a message header causing this behaviour.
