When there is no "date" field, it is displayed as unknown. It happens every
days with spams.
But a fallback date could be found in the "received" field.

Related detail: the mails without date appears at the bottom of the list and it
is boring to view/remove them. A light fix could be to display them before the
most recent ones.

Reproducible: Always

When my IMAP account is over quota, moving messages around fails because the
server has to copy them first. All other IMAP clients I tried (Seamonkey,
Thunderbird, Windows Mail) inform the user about the failure and leave it where
it was. KMail pretends that it has been moved; it reappears when the folder
content is refreshed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Move a mail message from folder A to folder B.

Actual Results:
1. Message disappears from folder A.

Expected Results:
1. Server refused: OVER QUOTA.

I've had this problem since I can remember. I'm not sure if I had it with KDE
3.x, but I'm SURE i've had it with EVERY version along KDE 4.x

The problem only happens with one specific IMAP account, which only accepts one
connection at a time. I've searched all over for a way to limit the number of
IMAP connections KMail/Akonadi initiates to a specific server, but it seems
there's no way to do it. I can't even delete email, or mark it as read, as all
changes are lost when then connection goes down. I have to do it all via
webmail.

Every once in a while, after a connection drop, the Akonadi process related to
this specific IMAP account starts consuming 100% of the CPU and, like someone
else already said, the only way to stop it is to restart Akonadi.

The server dropping the connection CAN lead to this problem, but not always.
Sometimes I just get all my deleted mail back, and my read mail marked as
unread. However, I also had a WiFi router problem where the connection appeared
to be up, but there was no connection to the network. If this happens
overnight, it triggers the Akonadi CPU usage bug 100% of the time.

My strace right now shows basically nothing although is has been running for
about 10 minutes now, but Akonadi is consuming 100% CPU:

[root@roadrunner ~]# strace -fp 16902

Force full-resync if last sync was more than 25 days ago

Fixes 'The requested minimum modification time lies too far in the past'
error from Google Calendar resource that users saw after they returned
from vacation :-)

Also simplifies the code and speeds up sync by not fetching all existing
items before fetching data from Google (I probably copy-pasted it from
somewhere in the early days without actually understanding what's going on)

Operating System: Linux 3.7.10-1.4-desktop x86_64

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Akregator crashed while fetching feeds over night. I was not at the computer
when this happened.
I noticed that Akregator had crashed when I logged in the morning and the crash
dialogue had
appeared.

- Custom settings of the application:

Just a couple of different keyboard shortcuts such as making feed read by
pressing just the r key.
This shouldn't have anything to do with the crashing because it crashed like
this a few times before
I changed keyboard shortcuts.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

Thanks for the feedback. This is most probably caused by the mysterious
"Service not registered" bug. Will be 100% fixed in 4.11, trying to find a
temporary workaround for 4.10.3.

I confirm this as happening since version 4.8.4, running Kubuntu. Running
4.10.3 now and still happening.

It happens from time to time and on different IMAP servers, and I never suspend
the computer, so that's not the issue.

  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash

Application: akregator (4.10)
KDE Platform Version: 4.10.00 "release 1"
Qt Version: 4.8.4
Operating System: Linux 3.7.10-1.2-desktop x86_64

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I was trying to set a news feed to fetch the entire article, because the feed
only provides a brief part of the entire posting. The article view was not
updating, so I attempted to open an article in a new tab. I got an error
message that the url couldn't be opened. It gave me an option to launch
konqueror to view the url and I selected that option.

akregator then crashed.

[kmail2] [Bug 319823] New: Problems with Mailing List preferred handler = browser

2013-05-14 Thread Graeme Hewson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=319823

Bug ID: 319823
Summary: Problems with Mailing List preferred handler = browser
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: b...@wormhole.me.uk

Two problems with Browser handler; maybe needs two bug reports?

1. Invoke Handler has no effect.

Go to Folder Properties, Mailing List tab. Preferred handler was previously set
to Browser.

Set address type to something with an http URL. Click Invoke Handler. Nothing
happens.

2. Preferred handler changed without clicking OK.

With the preferred handler previously set to KMail, go to the Mailing List tab.

Change the preferred handler to Browser and try to invoke Browser handler, as
above. As before, nothing hapens.

Click Cancel.

Go back to the Mailing List tab and observe that the preferred handler is
Browser and not KMail, even though the Cancel button was clicked, not the OK
button.

To be honest, I'm not sure it's useful to invoke the handler from the Folder
Properties dialog: it makes more sense to use the Message / Mailing-List
submenu. If the Invoke Handler button were to be removed, then I don't think it
wouldn't make sense either to have a preferred handler.

A common usability use case is to use the space bar to get the rest of the
content and to use the same key to scroll to the next item.

There doesn't appear to be a way to configure this mode of operation.

Reproducible: Always

The kmail documentation says "... you can send a new message to the mailing

middle mousebutton on the folder in the folder list.

http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdepim/kmail/kmail.pdf section 3.4.3, Mailing

Closing the tab with ctrl-w makes the focus the search bar.
Closing the tab with right mouse selecting 'close tab' makes the focus the
current article.

header is eight (8).
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: akregator
   Version: 4.10.0

  Reporter: r...@wi.rr.com

When resizing the article list header box on the UI that is 900 pixels high
(height of the screen),
the smallest you can make the list box is eight (8) rows. After that, you can
only make the box disappear.

User should be able to make the height of the box the number of rows they
desire.

Reproducible: Always

Open the selected article in a new tab.
Read tab.
Close the tab with control-w.
Mouse focus is now the search bar and not the article view.
Next and previous commands now become terms in the search box which is
immediately executed,
losing whatever state the article view as in. Search has to be terminated and
article header listing box sort order is random.

A common use case in UI lists is to use left mouse to select an entry and
shift+left mouse to select multiple entries, first and last. Additionally,
you can select individual multiple records with control+left mouse.

This does not work in the akregator ui. You cannot select multiple articles to
mark as read in the article title summary box.

Embedded video in rss feed is not playable. I couldn't find an option that
turns it on or off.
There's a complaint in another bug that a video is playing in the background.

A black box that represents the video is shown and is not clickable.

A google search turned up no solutions to this issue.

[kmail2] [Bug 310694] Kmail thinks it is offline, switching online as offered does not work

This occasionally happens to me when I start the computer. IMAP akonadi
resources fail to go online, and stay offline until I manually restart the
akonadi server (the akonadiconsole doesn't do it for me). The "go online" link
in kmail doesn't do anything.

This is a new behaviour in 4.10.

I'm using OpenSUSE 12.3.
