[kmail2] [Bug 283991] Email Address Completition Incomplete

2013-08-13 Thread Silver Salonen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283991

Address completion is made better in KMail 4.11, but this bug is still somewhat
present in there too.

In KMail 4.11, if you start typing an e-mail address, there are 2 groups from
which to choose the address: "Recent Addresses" and "Contacts found in your
data", from which the latter shows addresses with contacts' names, but the
former lists only e-mail addresses.

openSUSE 12.3, KDE 4.10.5, kmail2 4.10.5
Address autocompletion IS NOT WORKING. Only autocompletion from recent
addresses works.

In my system settings there is a "Personal Contacts" configured; this is there
automatically. It's located at ~/.local/share/contacts/
kmail warned that nepomuk semantic desktop must be running.
I started nepomuk, turned on everything in it (but restricted file indexing to
~/.kde4, ~/.local, ~/.config - the rest is crazy), and make sure it is running.
No autocompletion from address book. The "Select recipient" button works, from
the same address book.

[kmail2] [Bug 323474] New: Autocompletion from recent addresses needs restart to turn off

2013-08-13 Thread Volker Kuhlmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323474

Bug ID: 323474
Summary: Autocompletion from recent addresses needs restart to
turn off
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.5
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: list0...@paradise.net.nz

The autocompletion of addresses from the recent addresses list is controlled by
Settings->Composer->"Use recent addreses for autocompletion".
When this is off, turning it on gives autocompletion from recent addresses in
the composer window.
Turning it back off does not take effect until after a kmail restart.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Turn off Setting->Composer->"Use recent addreses for autocompletion"
2. restart kmail
3. Compose an email, verify recent addresses are not used for autocompletion.
4. Turn this on in the settings.
5. Compose an email, verify recent addresses are used for autocompletion.
6. Turn this off in the settings,
7. Compose an email, verify recent addresses are not used for autocompletion.
Actual Results:
Autocompletion is still used, although it is turned off in the settings.

After restarting kmail this function is indeed off.

Expected Results:
Function only available when enabled.
A kmail restart should not be necessary.

I just discovered about 200 new messages in my GMail inbox that were supposed
to get filtered into different folders. This also happens sometimes when
something is off in Akonadi. Not a big problem, I can just select all recent
messages and "apply all filters".
Maybe this information is helpful about the state of mail filters when the bug
happens.

[Akonadi] [Bug 322200] limit restarts of crashing resources

2013-08-13 Thread Martin Steigerwald
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322200

Christophe, I perceive filling up the logs of a mail proxy server upto the
point that it would fill the available disk space of it a major bug. This
breaks infrastructure that is not just there for that one or two mail clients.

Now one can argue why does the perdition log this. Well its just a new
connection attempt and in my oppinion it makes sense to have it logged. I
consider doing hundred thousands of new connections to the same mail server in
a relatively short timeframe a major bug.

I.e. it doesn't even just load the local machine, but the mail server up to the
point that is near to a denial of service attack. Even a distributed one in
that case cause it only happens when two or more Akonadi IMAP clients access
the same server.

So the software does not only crash. And it also insists of restarting itself
after crashing again and again and again. So the software knows that it is
broken but even insists of being running like this.

If that is no major bug, I do not know what is. Seriously.

So what is your reasoning for this not to be a major bug?

[Akonadi] [Bug 323455] New: "Filter account is missing" after KMail startup

2013-08-13 Thread Andreas Hartmetz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323455

Bug ID: 323455
Summary: "Filter account is missing" after KMail startup
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: GIT (master)
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Mail Filter Agent
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ahartm...@gmail.com

This bug existed for a while before it disappeared some months (could be more
than a year) ago, and now it's back.
After starting my computer, which boots immediately into a KDE session, in
maybe 20% of the cases I get dialogs from KMail/Akonadi asking me to pick an
account for a filter rule. Currently I have two dialogs for the same filter
rule, one on my work account, which moves messages marked as spam into a spam
folder. There is no account listed to choose from. I have learned when this bug
happened in the past that it's best to restart Akonadi, because even "Cancel"
will just delete the filter rule. This might have changed (there were some
commits to that effect), but I don't really want to risk it.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start computer with autologin
2. KDE session restore starts Akonadi and KMail
3. Dialogs asking for an account for filter rule(s) appear

[kmail2] [Bug 323066] local folders not created or used.

2013-08-13 Thread piedro
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323066

I found the following misbehaviour. Though I can't confirm this fixes the
problem I am confident it has a lot to do with it.

If in the file
~/.kde4/share/config/akonadi_maildir_resource_15rc
there is the entry
TopLevelIsContainer=true

things seem to work (somehow though there are still double entries in the kmail
config dialogs choosing folders for trash for example).

As I understand this entry should be standard now and it unclutters the
recurring subfolder structure in .local-mail.directory (which is a good thing I
think)

For reason beyond my grasp the "TopLevelIsContainer=true" entry gets removed
from the "akonadi_maildir_resource_15rc" file by the akonadi GUI tools to
configure agents. So if I open akonadi configuration and press "change" on the
local folder agent (just to see how it is configured), confirm it points to the
right maildir (".local/share/local-mail") and then close the dialog the entry
"TopLevelIsContainer=true" is removed from the "akonadi_maildir_resource_15rc"
file? This is a big problem because basically it means you can't use akonadi
console or akonadi configuration to do stuff.

How can this be fixed (there must be a default settings file somewhere that
theses dialogs use, right?) ... ?

please devs, would someone start commenting on this problem?

thx,
piedro
