Seeing that there were several people that got this bug fixed by removing
duplicate special folders it would be a good idea to investigate

a) what causes creation of duplicate special folders
b) how to not go crazy if there are duplicates

Every time I try to create an imap-folder, akonadi fails with:

Error during executing query INSERT INTO CollectionTable (remoteId,
remoteRevision, name, parentId, resourceId, cachePolicyInherit, isVirtual)
VALUES (:0, :1, :2, :3, :4, :5, :6) : Duplicate entry '16-newfolder' for key

imap-server. I've tested with standalone mysql server and with internal one. It
is mariadb-5.5.31 if this matters.

I've been hit by the same problem. I got 3 duplicates: inbox, outbox, sent-mail
each in pure german language. When I started LANG=C kmail I could distinguish
them without problem.
But it would be nice to know how to delete those directories without waiting
for ages in kmail for processing of each deletion job. Something in command
line maybe?

[Akonadi] [Bug 323856] New: Can't get new e-mail with postgresql backend

2013-08-21 Thread Ferry
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323856

Bug ID: 323856
Summary: Can't get new e-mail with postgresql backend
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.11
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
  Assignee: er...@kde.org
  Reporter: ft...@telfort.nl
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org

When using the postgresql backend (either internal or external) Akonadi Console
records NO Unable to add item flags. and stops updating the list of
messages. This is regardless of setting the standard_conforming_strings = on
option. Other usefull messages:
* 52228 FETCH (UID 52228 REV 2 REMOTEID 1 MIMETYPE message/rfc822
COLLECTIONID 4443 SIZE 18092 FLAGS (\SEEN \ANSWERED))
3610 OK FETCH completed
3611 BEGIN
3611 OK Begin completed
3612 UID STORE 98278 NOREV SIZE 0 (REMOTEID 2 +FLAGS ($ATTACHMENT \SEEN)
PLD:HEAD[1] {649}
3612 NO Unable to add item flags.
3614 ROLLBACK
3614 OK Rollback completed

Note this occurs after updating to 4.11, before the update I had the postgresql
backend working fine (and better then the mysql backend.

Dropping the akonadi database in my external sql server and rebuilding new did
not solve the problem.

Only switching back to mysql get my e-mail functioning for now.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.In Akonadi server configuration switch to postgresql backend (internal) -
make sure the backend is installed first.
2.In Akonadi Console enable the debugger
3.

[kmail2] [Bug 323858] New: Reveive error message after successfully sending email

2013-08-21 Thread Edward Reiss
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323858

Bug ID: 323858
Summary: Reveive error message after successfully sending email
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.11
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: commands and actions
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ebre...@gmail.com

When I sent email via a DAVMail relay, the message is sent successfully but I
receive the following message:

TAG: Store failed, server replied: A000134 BAD Command Argument Error. 11

The Sent Mail folder for the identity used for the DAVMail relay is set to
the local folders Sent-Mail folder.

If I disable the sent mail folder within the identity, I get the following
error:

Failed to store result in item. Item query returned empty result set

This worked flawlessly before the upgrade to 4.11 from 4.10.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create message
2. Send message
3. Receive notifications of successfully sent message along with error UNLESS
sent mail folder is disabled, in which case only an error message is sent even
though the message was successfully sent.
Actual Results:
Receive errors regarding successfully sent message.

Expected Results:
No error messages.

This was an upgrade from KDE 4.10.

Well, I'm not sure that crashing due to a distro doing something wrong is
necessarily the best way to handle it...

But can you help me discern which desktop file it is that needs changing, and
what kind of change it needs so I can go to the gentoo devs to fix?

Thanks

As part of a mixedmaildir resource one subdirectory contains write-protected
mbox files.
kmail is unable to read them: failed to read Mbox folder
.../.folder.direcotry/folder

(At least it no longer crashes, like it used to.)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create mixedmaildir resource
2. Copy a write-protected mbox file into this
3. Try to get kmail to show its content
Actual Results:
Error message, no action.

Expected Results:
The contents of the mbox folder to be displayed. write-protected still means
read, copy and search are expected actions.

[kmail2] [Bug 323875] New: mixedmaildir resource buggy and sloooow

2013-08-21 Thread Volker Kuhlmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323875

Bug ID: 323875
Summary: mixedmaildir resource buggy and slw
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: list0...@paradise.net.nz

The mixedmaildir resource looks like a really good idea, but...

To scan an mbox file with 6000 emails after 1 new mail has been added, mutt
needs less than 1 second for a complete and accurate scan, and that without any
kind of index caching or any other bloat at all. kmail needs 10s of seconds to
5 minutes And that will all that phenomenal SQL bloat hanging off it - or
perhaps that's the real problem.

A complete restart of akonadi and kmail will be necessary when selecting
different folders and an email in each of them without making sure first that
the previously selected
Frequently kmail gets stuck synchronising altogether. The only recourse is to
quit kmail, stop akonadi, wait for akonadi to exit (a minute is easily possible
- dang it's tempting to use kill), and start again. But then it could be it's
not a deadlock - difficult to tell how many hours to wait for a miraculous
recovery, with tens of folders times 5 minutes.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a mixedmaildir resource for an existing directory with
subdirectories, all containing only mbox files.
2. Try to get some work done: append an email with another program + with
kmail, resync directories incl content because kmail's state isn't accurate or
uptodate, select a folder and an email within, then select another folder and
an email within that before the first one finished doing anything useful to the
user (like show the selected email), ...
3.
Actual Results:
Unusably slow perofrmance, deadlocks.

Expected Results:
Speedy performance on modern hardware.

[kontact] [Bug 235690] kontact hangs when starting in summary view or after switching to summary view

2013-08-21 Thread Martin Nebe
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=235690

--- Comment #21 from Martin Nebe martin.n...@gmail.com ---
Created attachment 81845
  -- https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=81845action=edit
ICal test file to check for the presence of the bug.

With this ICal Calendar File (and without the bugfix introduced in 4.11)
kontact hangs when starting in summary view or after switching to summary view.

[kontact] [Bug 235690] kontact hangs when starting in summary view or after switching to summary view

2013-08-21 Thread Martin Nebe
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=235690

--- Comment #22 from Martin Nebe martin.n...@gmail.com ---
After struggling many hours with installing KDEPIM 4.11 on my openSUSE 12.3 I
finally completed the retest today by using the attached ICal test file.

I am very happy with the result: No matter how I configured the summary view it
would not cause Kontact to hang or crash.

Therefore I confirm hereby that (at least from my point of view) the bug has
been fixed with this release!

Thank you very much for finally having solved this problem.
