[Akonadi] [Bug 323623] DAV-ressource should detect network status instead of spreading error notifications if there is no network

2013-09-03 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323623

I mainly had this when I am using my 3G connection. But also when the system
starts up and the connection is still build. I also had this problem on
wireless networks which require a login

The main annoying part is the fact that there is not one but several error
messages and also that that it makes a sound. Which of course I could turn of,
but I would consider this a general problem. If there is a problem the error
message should be less intruding, because in most of the cases it wont matter
since the network will be restored.
So my suggestion would be only to notify the user if the problem exists for a
longer time (x min). X may be 10 min. And then only one notification for all
resources. May be after another x min another and so on.

When the events and tasks disappear, can you have a look in akonadiconsole to
see if they're still listed? If not, does restarting the resource help? I can
have a similar behavior by forcefully clearing Akonadi's cache, but I don't
think this is something that happens in normal circumstances.

Looks like the todo entry creation failed on the server but the resource didn't
caught it. Can you look in the DavMail logs for any errors when creating the

Actually the resource is aware of the network connection status by using Solid
(IIRC what was explained on IRC). This only monitors the status of the
interfaces of your box, so if the problem lies further downstream (such as if
your router lost its connection to its gateway) there's no way for the resource
to be aware of it.

Which of those case are you in?

[kaddressbook] [Bug 324461] New: unclear wording for HTML and remote content options

2013-09-03 Thread Jonathan Marten
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324461

Bug ID: 324461
Summary: unclear wording for HTML and remote content options
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: GIT
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: j...@keelhaul.me.uk
CC: to...@kde.org

On the first tab "Contact" of the contact edit dialogue, there are two options:

Prefers to receive messages formatted as: (dropdown list)
Allow remote content(checkbox)

It is not immediately clear what these options refer to, or that they are
related. Also, the wording of the first option implies that this contact wants
to *receive* messages in the specified format, i.e. messages composed and
*sent* by the KDEPIM user. This is not ther way that the option works: the
only place where this option is used (kdepim/messageviewer/header) controls the
display of messages *received from* this contact. Possibly this is the source
of the user confusion in bug 260354.

Suggest that these options should be shown as related by a group box (maybe
titled "Messages"), and their labels should say:

Show messages received from this contact as: (dropdown list)
Allow remote content in received HTML messages (checkbox)

It's not clear what the "Unknown" option in the dropdown list means, so this
should maybe say "Default" (i.e. as configured in Kmail - Security).

This group box would also be a suitable place to add a per-contact option for
*sending* HTML mail, if that is ever implemented (with the same dropdown
options "Default", "Plain Text" or "HTML").

[kaddressbook] [Bug 324462] New: Calendar input field ignores date in text field

2013-09-03 Thread Sven Wehner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324462

Bug ID: 324462
Summary: Calendar input field ignores date in text field
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: 4.10.5
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: s...@atelophobia.de
CC: to...@kde.org

When entering a birthday (date string) for a person in the calendar menu's text
field, the date seems to be ignored. Only when you open the calendar menu
again, the previously entered date is chosen correctly.

I suggest connecting text field and calendar widget. So that changing one,
changes the other one as well.

Additionally, it would be great if the text field would receive default focus,
so you can directly type the date without clicking the text field first.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add a new contact.
2. Start adding a birthday in the "Personal" tab by clicking the calendar icon
(candle in front of calendar).
3. Enter the birthday in the text field. E.g.: "01.01.2000" (Note: I use German
date format, I don't know what the default format looks like.)
4. Press enter on your keyboard.
5. Realize that the entered date has been ignored, and only the selected date
in the calendar widget seems to matter.

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

akonadi_imap_resource under KDE 4.11.0 has crashed when the PC's IP address has
changed. I guess it is still the old problem that I report from time to time
when there is a new KDE version and akonadi_imap_resource crashes once again on
unstable network connectivity. This problem probably persists since I started
to work with KDE 4 in KDE 4.3 or KDE 4.4. It really needs some debugging, since
I think that probably not so few people use KDE on a laptop that changes its
address from time to time when continuing to work in a different network. Then,
KDE's IMAP resource gets easily out of service or even crashes. While KDE 4
itself gets better with each new version, KDE PIM and particularly its IMAP
resource implementation are a steady source of frustration.

[Akonadi] [Bug 324455] New: eGroupware: Unable to retrieve items: There was problem with the request. The file or folder does not exist. (0).

2013-09-03 Thread Bernd Schubert
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324455

Bug ID: 324455
Summary: eGroupware: Unable to retrieve items: There was
problem with the request. The file or folder
does not exist. (0).
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.11
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: DAV Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: bernd.schub...@fastmail.fm

Some time ago (a few months) kdepim was working fine with the using our local
egroupware server. No idea what happened then, but the egroupware resource
didn't work anymore (I dond't remember if it was the same issue). At least
after re-setting up the resource I know always get:

eGroupware: Unable to retrieve items: There was problem with the request.
The file or folder does not exist. (0).

As pop-up message. Already this is sufficiently annoying, as it re-appears
every n minutes. I might be a bit old fashioned, but if at all I only would
want to see this message a single time. And definitely not at as pop-up, but
only directly at configuration time (btw, configuration went fine). Further
message should go into a log file file, e.g. .xsession-errors.
And in my opinion, this message is entirely useless, maybe with exception of
the one who the code, as it does not help to figure out what is going on and it
even does not help to locate the sources where the issue happens. So I already
grepped through akonadi, kdepim and kdepim-runtime source packages, but I don't
find any reference to the error message I get in these sources. It already
would help if it would print __FILE__:__LINE__: error_msg in error logs

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add fraunhofer itwm egroupware resource (success)
2. Wait until it tries to refresh the resources

[kmail2] [Bug 324443] New: REGRESSION: localhost: Cannot fetch item in offline mode

2013-09-03 Thread Timo Weingärtner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324443

Bug ID: 324443
Summary: REGRESSION: localhost: Cannot fetch item in offline
mode
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.5
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: t...@tiwe.de

I use a local IMAP server for my mail for many reasons, one of them being the
ability to read my mail when I'm offline. Since the last upgrade kmail refuses
reading mails for no reason (ip r g ::1 shows a valid route). Preferring "Fake
Net" in the solid configuration does not help.

The non-alternatives are using a Maildir resource (no support for folder
structure) and disconnected mode (why duplicate all the data?).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create an IMAP account for localhost
2. disconnect non-lo interfaces
3. find out that you can still use the IMAP server with other clients but not
with kmail

Expected Results:
ability to read and manipulate mail

The envelope addresses for resent mails are OK in kmail2, but DKIM headers are
not removed. I haven't read the RFCs on that topic yet.

I asked Werner: GnuPG allowed one OpenPGP keyserver only in gpg.conf. So we
should limit the selection in Kleopatras settings dialog: Only one keyserver
and one ldap server can be selected.
@Andre: Can you make a suggestion for a new Kleopatra config dialog?

2013-09-03 Thread Martin van Es

--- Comment #19 from Martin van Es ---
There might be a relation to the fact that my Zimbra server serves a
self-signed certificate (accepted forever)? I have a gmail custom domain
account that is happily working on 993/SSL/TLS which I suspect to serve a
decent commercial certificate.
