[kmail2] [Bug 223034] cannot send mail to distribution list

2013-09-17 Thread Neil Darlow
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=223034

--- Comment #56 from Neil Darlow n...@darlow.co.uk ---
Hi,

On Monday 16 September 2013 21:29:19 you wrote:
Finally, it works on my machine too. The Problem was, that nepomuk had not
indexed correct the Akonadi data. I had to make Nepomuk rescan everything,
now it works even when I restart my Computer without any script

The script not working for you was, I believe, because Ubuntu links /bin/sh to
dash and not bash. Changing line 1 of the script to #!/bin/bash should correct
this.

Without the script, are you sure that Nepomuk is indexing current data? If you
add a contact to an Akonadi resource and reboot does that new contact get
indexed? My testing indicated that it was not. Hence the reason for creating
the workaround.

Regards,
Neil Darlow

Allright
Is there a way to work it around? (aka editing a configuration file)
Do you know if this is a bug in the source code, or is it downstream (aka down
to the ubuntu packagers)

Cheers

 korganizer != kmail no ?
yeah, but somewhere in between there is a problem. sorry that I can't
distinguish the hen and egg problem here. I have to rely on your judgement.
Maybe with some proper guidance I could improve the report if it doesn't meet
your standards.

and 257723 will never implemented you reopened it long time ago but it will
 not reimplement so...
as I said in that report, declining an invitation _can_ open a message window.
So I don't see why accepting an invitation can't do that. Apart from that every
other mail program (I know) has that functionality

Still an issue in 4.11.1.For instance if you are added to a BZ (any bug on
any bugzilla, not just KDE's) at some point after the bug was opened, kmail
will ignore the References header and will show any subsequent mails from that
bug as individual at the top level, instead of threading them. This results in
the unthreaded mails flooding out the view of the mailbox.

My threading settings are set to Perfect, References and Subject

Still an issue in 4.11.1.

It seems that Kmail and/or Akonadi is trying to do something but DIMAP Exchange
is replying with an error, as I am now getting the following notification when
I do anything that involves a property change

Resource: Store failed, server replied A001710 BAD Command Argument Error:
11

The A-number varies, I've seen A001710, A001871 and A05, presumably that is
IMAP ID-related.

[Akonadi] [Bug 324996] New: detect caldav/davical shared calendars

2013-09-17 Thread tony den haan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324996

Bug ID: 324996
   Summary: detect caldav/davical shared calendars
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
   URL: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/agendav-dev/Ou
hB_NqjmPk
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: DAV Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@tuxick.net

As in aforementioned URL, there was a discussion about discovering shared
calendars on caldav, but it somehow died.
I verified that
curl --request PROPFIND --header Depth: 2 --data-ascii D:propfind
xmlns:D=\DAV:\D:getetag//D:propfind --user USER:PASS
https://SERVER/caldav.php
seems to provide the relevant information from my davical server, i'm not too
sure about other caldav implementations. This feature would be much appreciated
:)

Reproducible: Always

I don't know if my problem is same, but I think so. Very often when I receive
new email, I see notification (among other KDE notifications) and I see
respective number of unread emails on Kmail's tray icon and folder icon within
IMAP resource. But when I open that IMAP folder, I don't see new e-mails. When
I open that folder in another IMAP client or using webmail, I see all e-mails.
Also I have the issue with moving some messages as described in #1. But I think
Akonadi is working, because I see notifications about new e-mails and I have to
restart KMail (not Akonadi) to view those lost e-mails. It is very, very
annoying.
I use openSUSE 12.3, 64 bit, KDE 4.11.1.

[Akonadi] [Bug 317468] kmail / akonadiserver / mysqld uses a lot of ressources even in idle time

2013-09-17 Thread Johannes Obermayr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=317468

--- Comment #1 from Johannes Obermayr johannesoberm...@gmx.de ---
I had some time to debug:
- 4.10.5 from openSUSE:12.3:Update works
- 4.11.x and master didn't:
  - kmail's message window freezes after ~ 3 to 5 messages
  - akonadiconsole - Browser is really fast and doesn't freeze

I found Bug 323740#c6. So I checked my system
~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory/.inbox.directory/
~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory/.Posteingang.directory/
(2nd was introduced by kmail-migrator [Bug 258926#c6])

moved all from localized .Posteingang.directory to default .inbox.directory and
removed Posteingang (~ 30,000 emails via akonadiconsole - Browser)

kmail is now really fast.

[kmail] [Bug 245924] KMail becomes very slow by rare symbols in email

2013-09-17 Thread Nick Leverton
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=245924

--- Comment #2 from Nick Leverton n...@leverton.org ---
Created attachment 82371
  -- https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=82371action=edit
Demonstration mbox file.

Still an issue in KDE 4.11.1. Good spot that the problem is the renderer, but
problem there is that Kmail doesn't seem to allow choosing webkit, and always
uses khtml. (if I'm wrong then tell me how !).

So html mails with even a few non-Western chars (in my case Korean) can take a
substantial time to render, during which time Kmail2 is frozen and
unresponsive.

See the attached sample, which has been anonymised by replacing Latin
characters with 'x' but leaving the Korean ones in place. When choosing this
mail to display, Kmail2 hangs stone cold unresponsive for almost 30 seconds
until it has rendered it. I do have suitable fonts installed.

Perhaps this bug should be duplicated, once for kmail to use a better renderer
and once for khtml to fix its issue ?

[kmail] [Bug 245924] KMail becomes very slow by rare symbols in email

2013-09-17 Thread Laurent Montel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=245924

--- Comment #3 from Laurent Montel mon...@kde.org ---
(In reply to comment #2)
 Created attachment 82371 [details]
 Demonstration mbox file.

Still an issue in KDE 4.11.1. Good spot that the problem is the renderer,
but problem there is that Kmail doesn't seem to allow choosing webkit, and
always uses khtml. (if I'm wrong then tell me how !).

yes you are :)
We use qtwebkit in kmail2

So html mails with even a few non-Western chars (in my case Korean) can take
a substantial time to render, during which time Kmail2 is frozen and
 unresponsive.

See the attached sample, which has been anonymised by replacing Latin
characters with 'x' but leaving the Korean ones in place. When choosing
this mail to display, Kmail2 hangs stone cold unresponsive for almost 30
seconds until it has rendered it. I do have suitable fonts installed.

Perhaps this bug should be duplicated, once for kmail to use a better
renderer and once for khtml to fix its issue ?

not khtml issue if you can reproduce in kmail2

Ok I need 2 seconds to render it.
it's because you html file is very big.
but perhaps I don't have correct fonts.
But it's not kmail bug but a qtwebkit bug.

Martin,
You should be able to resize the dialog to your preference and that new size
will be saved/restored now (since 4.11.1)

we could also make the default initial size larger. currently set to 800x500.
maybe 900 wide would be better.

You can choose yourself :) It does not have to even be called kimap.log

I thought so, but could be a fancy shell feature I didn't know ;)

Well the answer is pretty clear. Apparently you have to select a different
folder before you can delete it. This has to be done by kimap/akonadi as it's
not possible to RMB-click on a folder without selecting it.

[kmail2] [Bug 325016] New: read mail message view scrolling with jk keys does not work anymore

2013-09-17 Thread Lyse
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=325016

Bug ID: 325016
Summary: read mail message view scrolling with jk keys does not
work anymore
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.5
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@lyse.isobeef.org

Previously (Debian Stable (Wheezy), KMail Version 4.4.11) I could focus the
read mail message view and use the vim-like keys [j] or [k] to scroll down or
up the message. If I remember correctly I remapped the default shortcut [j] for
jump into folder to something else. This jk scrolling worked both in the read
mail message view below the mail list and the extra read mail message window.
In the current version 4.10.5 pressing [j] or [k] does not do anything at all.

I know I can use the cursor keys, mouse wheel or mouse cursor to drag the
scrollbar to scroll, but I really got used to jk scrolling and really miss this
feature. Looking through the available shortcuts in the configure shortcuts
window does not show me anything related to this.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. select a long mail in the mail list where scrolling in the read mail messge
view is possible
2. focus the read mail message view
2. press [j] to scroll
Actual Results:
nothing happens

Expected Results:
the mail message is scrolled down

I use KMail with the German language pack. In other programs like Akregator and
Okular jk scrolling still works as expected.

[kontact] [Bug 325020] New: The events in the summary view are not ordered by date and time

2013-09-17 Thread Amaury Carrade
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=325020

Bug ID: 325020
Summary: The events in the summary view are not ordered by date
and time
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.11.1
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
   URL: http://amaury.carrade.eu/files/SummaryView_EventsOrder
Fail.png
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: summary
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ama...@carrade.eu

In the « upcoming events » section in the summary view (or something like this,
I use Kontact in french), the events are not ordered by date and hour.

They seems to be ordered by date and then by inverted hours (see screenshot).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create some events in a calendar;
2. go to the “summary” view.
Actual Results:
The events are not ordered by date and hour, the older in the first position.

Expected Results:
The events are ordered by date and hour, the older in the first position.

The concerned calendar is loaded from a CalDAV resource, hosted on an ownCloud
server.

I see a similar bug in every Plasma view with the events of KOrganizer
(clocks...).

The size does not get restored here (4.11.1). Is it in 4.12 ?
Probably also the stretch factors should give more importance to the Name Group

There is an infinite recursion in plasma_engine_todo, probably caused by
Akonadi changes regarding item monitoring. Since the downstream version has not
been updated for a while, I guess it won't be fixed there.

If you can provide a backtrace with debug information for plasma_engine_todo
and libakonadi-kde enabled, Akonadi developers could have a look at it.
