My problem is that I continue to get invalid log entries in replay. >From a console, try running 'nepomukctl restart' and look at the messages scrolling by. I see messages like this: "17:29:29 Invalid log entry in replay. Delete transaction log /home/allen/.kde4/share/apps/nepomuk/repository/main/data/virtuosobackend/soprano-virtuoso.trx or truncate at point of error. Valid data may exist after this record. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294320 --- Comment #20 from Thiago Jung Bauermann --- Something interesting happened today, it may be related to this: I was editing a message reply, and the reply window showed a passive notification saying that the semantic desktop was't enabled (I don't remember the exact words), but it wen't away quickly. At that moment I noticed that virtuoso and akonadi_nepomuk_feeder were having a CPU/disk usage spike. I don't know which came first, if it was the notification or the usage spike. Right now (much later) I'm testing address completion in the "To" field and it can find some contacts in my address book but not all. When it can't find the contact in the addressbook, it shows as "contacts found in your files" ("in Ihren Daten gefundene Kontakte"). This is with KDE 4.11.1, KMail 4.11.1, Akonadi 1.10.1, Virtuoso 6.1.6 in Kubuntu 12.04.3 LTS. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[kmail2] [Bug 325303] New: saving a distribution list (via "Save List") duplicates contacts
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=325303 Bug ID: 325303 Summary: saving a distribution list (via "Save List") duplicates contacts Classification: Unclassified Product: kmail2 Version: Git (master) Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: composer Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: j...@keelhaul.me.uk I'm using a VCard Directory resource to store contacts. The only way that I have found to create a contact group (aka distribution list) there is to start to compose a message in KMail, add the contact email addresses and then use the "Save List" button (that appears when there are 2 or more of them) to save the list. After doing this, the contact group indeed appears in KAddressBook but each contact that it contains is duplicated. The duplicate contacts contain only the name and the email address, regardless of any other data that the original contact contained. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start with an address book containing contact name/emails (plus any additional information) such as: Foo Bar foo.bar@some.where Name Surname ema...@another.com 2. In KMail, open a new composer window (kmail --composer). 3. Click "Select..." and pick each of those contacts in turn, then "Add as To". Close the picker. 4. Click "Save List...", enter a name for the list and pick the original address book to add to. 5. In KAddressBook, observe that two duplicates of "Foo Bar" and "Name Surname" have appeared in the list. Each one contains only their name and the selected email address (if they had more than one). Actual Results: Duplicate contacts added as above. Two VCF files with UIDs of the form {a04f7731-c090-45af-a05d-7119d3e03cda} will have appeared in the VCard Directory directory. An Akonadi item of the form: IDMIME type SizeModification Time 10103 application/x-vnd.kde.contactgroup 205 B Wed Sep 25 14:40:25 2013 UTC with payload: will have been added to the database. Expected Results: Creating a group from existing contacts should reference them, not duplicate anything. I'm not sure where this bug really lies; it may be in KMail, akonadi or kaddressbook. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=325299 Bug ID: 325299 Summary: When sending Kmail always uses utf-8 encoding despite configuration option Classification: Unclassified Product: kmail2 Version: 4.10.5 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: commands and actions Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: korg...@yandex.com In Kmail settings (Configurations -> Configure Kmail -> Compositor -> Character set encoding) the user can list the character encoding preferences that kmail will use when sending the email. In theory the first charset that can acommodate all letters in the message will be used. It seems that this settings are not followed for message headers. When using Kmail in a coporate environment where most of the people use MS Outlook/MS Exchange every Kmail sent message arrives for them incomprehensible. The only way to send them a correctly encoded mail is to make sure that there are no non-ascii chars in the heardes. That means manually retyping every email address to strip people names and the subject line to remove non-ascii characters. It is also very time consuming and tedious for discussion threads. By looking at the message source one can see that in some places that encoding are changed to teh desired (ISO-8859-1, for instance) but in the same message it also includes utf-8 encoding. This mixing of encodings is not respecting the settings definitions and it causes other email clientes to incorrectly display the charset encoding. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to Settings -> Configure Kmail -> Composer -> Character encoding . Remove all items from the list and add only "ISO-8859-1". Push Apply and then Close. 2. Click on new email to start a new message. 3. On the "TO:" field type "Ação" (that's A ç ã o) 4. On the "Subject field" type "Açaí" (That's A ç a í) 5. On the message body, type anything, but include a few non-ascii chars, like: "Sequência" (ê) 6. In the Sent folder, click on the just sent email and the Manu "view->view source" 7. See that there should be only ISO-8859-1 tags but there are also UTF-8 tags. Actual Results: From: My Name To: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?A=E7=E3o?= Subject: =?UTF-8?B?QcOnYcOt?= Date: Wed, 25 Sep 2013 10:46:37 -0300 Message-ID: <4109830.nKvFdzYvjl@hostname> X-KMail-Identity: 243885538 Disposition-Notification-To: My Identity User-Agent: KMail/4.10.5 (Linux/3.8.0-30-generic; KDE/4.10.5; x86_64; ; ) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Sequ=EAncia Expected Results: From: My Name To: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?A=E7=E3o?= Subject: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?a=E7a=ED?= Date: Wed, 25 Sep 2013 10:46:37 -0300 Message-ID: <4109830.nKvFdzYvjl@hostname> X-KMail-Identity: 243885538 Disposition-Notification-To: My Identity User-Agent: KMail/4.10.5 (Linux/3.8.0-30-generic; KDE/4.10.5; x86_64; ; ) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Sequ=EAncia It seems that there is indeed an error and that is the fact that Kmail is not respecting the encoding preferences. Although kmail itself can handle multiple different encodings, it seems that MS products can't. This annoys MS Outlook and MS Exchange users. Some of them are already questioning that should I use their non-free system, they would not be annoyed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
