[kmail2] [Bug 326531] New: Should allow single-letter shortcuts

2013-10-23 Thread Daniel Colascione
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326531

Bug ID: 326531
   Summary: Should allow single-letter shortcuts
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.11.2
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR

kmail comes configured with single-letter shortcuts, but the customize options
for menu items don't allow users to actually set new, different single letter
shortcuts. I want to set "next unread message" to "N", just like Thunderbird.

Reproducible: Always

[kdepim] [Bug 326530] New: can't add owncloud resources if shared calendars exist on owncloud server

2013-10-23 Thread Johannes Rohr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326530

Bug ID: 326530
Summary: can't add owncloud resources if shared calendars exist
on owncloud server
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kdepim
   Version: 4.10
  Platform: Debian unstable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: libkdepim
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: jor...@gmail.com

I am trying to set up an owncloud dav resource, and while everything seems to
work, the calendar or adddressbook do not show up
in kaddressbook resp. korganizer.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I am following the ususal steps:

Add a new akonadi resource of type "DAV"

Enter credentials

Select "owncloud‶ as server type

Enter the address of my server

Test the connection -> Test is passed successfully

Click on "fertigstellen" (complete/ ready, or whatever it says in the English
gui)

After that I see an akonadi resource called "Owncloud", when I click "edit", I
see two protocols listed - CalDAV and CardDAV, with the respective URLs.

When I click "edit", I notice that "Detected collections" ("Entdeckte
Sammlungen") is empty. On clicking "fetch", my default addressbook / calendar
are detected, together with several shared addressbooks / calendars of other
users.

Finally, I click "ok" several times to exit the akonadi configuration.
Actual Results:
But when I fire up kaddressbook or korganizer, the owncloud addressbook /
calendar fails to show up.

Also when I return to the akonadi configuration, the list of detected
collections is empty again. So while everything first appears to work just
fine, settings don't appear to be saved. I have removed almost my entire KDE
config and emptied my entire Akondadi database, but to no avail.

This misbehaviour seems this has started when I have begun to add users to the
owncloud server and sharing calendars between users.

I have just tested by un-sharing the calendars again, after which things are
functioning as they should: Both addressbooks and calendars are added to
Korganizer / Kaddressbook as expected. However, Kdepim definitely should be
fixed to accommodate shared calendars in owncloud.

Preview window shows "Inhalt des Ordners wird abgeholt. Bitte warten ..." it
take some minutes before the first message is shown in the preview window.

When selecting the next message it takes another 5 to 10 minutes to display the
message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start kmail2.
2. Select a folder and a message
3. Wait 5 to 10 minutes until the message is displayed
4. kontact, mysqld and akonadi use ~ 50% and more CPU on a 6 core with 8 GByte
system. all the time
Actual Results:
Only the message list is displayed.

Expected Results:
* I would expect that a message is displayed immediately after I select a
message.
* There is no need to read the whole folder.
* In 5 Minutes it should be possible to scan all my messages some thousand
times.
* I would expect that the kontact, mysqld and akonadi only use a reasonable
amount of CPU when kontact runs in the background.

[kmail2] [Bug 326493] New: kmail working but completely unresponsive to user input

2013-10-23 Thread Florian Schanda
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326493

Bug ID: 326493
Summary: kmail working but completely unresponsive to user
input
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: flor...@schanda.org.uk

We are seeing a *very* strange problem. We have a number of identical computers
with identical KDE setups from Debian stable.

On one of them, every once in a while kmail stops responding to user input. It
has *not* crashed. For example it responds to dbus messages, and the automatic
mail check still works (and the user interface is redrawn). However any user
input (keyboard, mouse both movement and clicking) is simply not processed, as
if it was never sent to the window in question. Other kde and non-kde
applications (for example emacs) on that system work fine.

Clicking the "close window" button in the title brings up the "this application
is not responding, would you like to kill it" message.

I have never seen anything like it and am at a loss of what to do and how to
start debugging this problem. We have tried to identify differences in the
setup/usage for that user and came up with two things:
   a) they use focus-follows-mouse
   b) they sometimes login from another computer

W.r.t. (a) we have disabled focus-follows-mouse and the problem still persists.

On (b), they sometimes log in from a different computer and have ignored the
message "there is already a running instance of kmail". I thought we eliminate
this by making sure no kmail or related kio processess are running and then
starting kmail again. Again, the problem still persists.

We have recently tried deleting all config in .kde relating to kmail, but the
problem still persists.

Do you have any idea what is going on?

Thanks,
   Florian

Reproducible: Always

[Akonadi] [Bug 326188] Akonadi server fails to start when home is in AFS on KDE 4.8.5, Kubuntu 12.04 amd64

2013-10-23 Thread Daniel Vrátil
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326188

You don't have to remove the MySQL package. Stop Akonadi (akonadictl stop),
start Akonadi Server KCM (kcmshell4 akonadi_server), select PostgreSQL driver
and configure it. Then delete ~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data and
~/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data and ~/.config/akonadi. Then start Akonadi
(akonadictl start) and you should be running against PostgreSQL. You will have
to recreate all settings though and Akonadi will have to download everything
again.

We only support MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQLite backends, but SQLite is NOT
recommended due to miserable performance.

I have seen this happening in 4.11.2 (Kubuntu 13.10 packages) as well. Usually,
it happens after I had to delete the Akonadi cache for that IMAP folder due the
folder no longer being updated properly.

Apparently, this workaround no longer works with KDE 4.11.2/Kubuntu 13.10 - at
the moment there is no way to avoid this crash!

Yet another crash while browsing through GPGed messages

This bug is *still* present in 4.11.2 (Kubuntu 13.10) - and it's annoying as
ever!
