[kmail2] [Bug 318906] KMail replies by default to "sender" instead of "From" in distribution lists: unintended list spamming frequent
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318906 --- Comment #1 from Wolfgang Ludwig --- I can confirm that this is an issue, especially when an email alias such as allstude...@university.edu is used to send announcement to all members of the community. Clearly, responses to the email should go to the sender and not to the collection address. I suggest the following solution: There is anyway a possibity in KMail2 to setup a directory for the use with a mailing list. If a directory is set up in this way, in my experience, emails always go to the mailing list (even if the address is nowhere mentioned in the email header). So, I suggest that replies should only go to the mailing list if the directory is set up in this way, and by default, a reply should go to the sender / all the senders. It would also be good if there is a configuration option for the default action for hitting on "reply" so that by default the reply goes to the sender, not the list. There are many situations where people don't expect to be posting on the list, and the damage of accidently not posting to the list but to the sender is smaller than vice-versa. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314495 Pavel Mendl changed: What|Removed |Added CC||pavel_me...@centrum.cz --- Comment #9 from Pavel Mendl --- Maybe I could join this bug instead of creating the new one. Some 3-6 months ago big update to KDE environment was released under Debian testing. Since then when starting desktop, always window appears stating migration of notes (I think paths there contains aconadi word). The window closes after a while on itself. I was suspicious that notes does not work properly (I use to generate one automatically on important mail arrival - and none appeared during this period, but seems no notify-worth mail as well). However today I found KNotes icon in the Quick bar and after opening notes from it (two older notifications were inside) I was not able to get rid of them. Simply no "delete" option was in the popup menu. After quiting the KNotes completely now I am again not able to get KNotes visible in the Quick bar, not even after opening the hidden icons popup. However "ps -a | grep notes" shows one knote process active in the same time. If you are investigating around this migration application, I am willing to help (at least as the guinea pig ;-) ). Please let me know, whether and what kind of information would be helpful, eventually if I should open separate bug for this behaviour.
