normal it's specific at each composer.
you can specify it in identity.

And for autocorrection it takes settings from kde so if there is not your
language it's a kde problem not kmail.

I just noticed that if i open akonadiconsole and on the browser tab if i select
the corrupted inbox folder, akonadiconsole starts consuming loads of RAM and
keeps growing. It consumed something like 1.5 GB in about 30 seconds when i
closed it. akonadi console itself continues to be responsive in the UI during
this time.

Again, im now experiencing this on my inbox folder. According to
akonadiconsole, the folder size is 1.8GiB.

Is there anything information i can provide to help the situation? I would
really not like to dump cache and download 1.8GiB again. Is there anything i
can do to fix it from this point on?

[kmail2] [Bug 327629] New: Default spell checker is not persistent

2013-11-14 Thread Volker Kuhlmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327629

Bug ID: 327629
Summary: Default spell checker is not persistent
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: list0...@paradise.net.nz

In the compose window is settings->spellchecker, which offers to set the
default language. This setting is not persistent, effectively making the
setting superfluous as it needs to be set again for each new email.
There is no equivalent setting in kmail->settings, perhaps that is the bug, and
it's only ever being selectable for each composer window.
kmail-settings->configure kmail->composer only has a language setting for
autocorrection. My default spell checker is different (English - New Zealand,
which isn't available in the autocorrections drop-down).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set KDE to British English, with spell checkers for New Zealand English.
2. Compose a new email.
3. In the compower window, setting->spellchecker: select English (New Zealand).
4. Save, send etc this email.

Actual Results:
5. Compose a another email, the spell checker default language is back to
English (UK).

Expected Results:
When kmail is set to spellcheck new emails in English (New Zealand), it should
not select another language.

Also explains how I have so many duplicates .
So kmail just eat some content , could be spamassassin ? etc

I am also affected by the issue.

The first time I was hit by this, I did the "workaround" of deleting the entire
akonadi database, which worked for me.

I just noticed today (after trying to add a folder again), that the problem
seems to be the insert statement in the akonadi database.

Akonadi prints the following message to the console:
> Error during executing query "INSERT INTO CollectionTable (remoteId,
> remoteRevision, name, parentId, resourceId, cachePolicyInherit, isVirtual)
> VALUES (:0, :1, :2, :3, :4, :5, :6)" : "Duplicate entry '390-DevLoL' for key
> 'CollectionTable_parentAndNameIndex' QMYSQL3: Unable to execute statement"

When I connected manually to the akonadi mysql database, I noticed a naming
problem:

mysql> select id, remoteId, name from collectiontable where resourceId = 26;
+--+--+--+
| id | remoteId | name |
+--+--+--+
| 407 | .INBOX | INBOX|
| 1441 | /DevLoL | DevLoL |
+--+--+--+
(most rows removed for privacy/brevity)

All the folders that work correctly have the remoteId field beginning with a
dot, whereas the non-working folders begin with a slash.

Manually fixing the remoteId causes kmail to display the folder correctly.

I guess that kmail uses the incorrect value when creating the folder?

My problem is that the IMAP mails in KMail2 will go offline automatically and I
cannot find a way to let it go back to online automatically. KMail does show
that "xxx is in offline mode, click here to go online" when I click an IMAP
folder and "click here" does work. However, it's just annoying and I cannot
trust the number of unread mails show in the system tray at all. Is there any
setting that allows KMail or akonadi trying to be back online automatically ?

Bug ID: 327624
Summary: When I delete a Contact in a DAV-Resource (Owncloud),
the Conact will NOT be deleted in Kaddressbook
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.11
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: DAV Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: eu...@eugenalbiker.de

Hi there,

I habe a Owncloud Server (5.0.13) and I added ther in Contact a new Contact.
This Contact is the only one, and I have also only one addresbook in Owncloud.

The newly added Contact is corretly synced to my KDE Addressbook this a
DAV-Resource.

When I delete the Contact in Owncloud then the contact will never be deleted in
the KDE Adressbook.
Akonadi Console also shows 1 Contact in the DAV-Resource/Contact
- a restart of the DAV-Resouce does not help
- a restart of the Akonadi does not help

Deleting the DAV-Resource and recreate the DAV-Resource does help. Then there
isn't anymore the deleted contact in Kadressbook.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add a Contact in Owncloud
2. Sync with Akonadi/DAV Resource
3. Delete the Contact in Owncloud
Actual Results:
The Contact is still in the DAV-Resouce Kadressbook

Expected Results:
The Contact should be also deleted in the DAV-Resource in Kadressbook

Hi,
I am using:
ii 4:4.11.3-0ubuntu0.1~ubuntu13.10~ppa amd64

I export a Google-contact from kaddressbook and get the file "testvcard.vcf"
When I import this VCF into a DAV-Recource (owncloud) the Contact is never
synced to Owncloud.
But if i delete the UID line from the "testcard.vcf" and import the contact to
the DAV-Resource, then the contact will be synchronised!! --> Correct

This only happens if I import the contact into the DAV-Resource in kadressbook.

More: If I Import the contact in owncloud ("with" OR "without" the UID), then
the contact is synced to kadressbook, and I can edit it in kadressbook and it
will be synced back to the owncloud-DAV-Recource.

Need any more Info, then I will try to help.
Greetings Eugen

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Import the "testvcard.vcf" in Kadressbook

Actual Results:
Log into the webclient of "owncloud" and go to Contacts. The Contact will never
be there

Expected Results:
Log into the webclient of "owncloud" and go to Contacts. The Contact will show
up (and will be synced from Kadressbook)

Content of the test-File "testvcard.vcf" - and yes: the Linefeed and " \"
(Space+Backslash) in the filed "UID" is correct. This is exported from
kadressbook out of a google-contact-resource.

[kontact] [Bug 327617] New: Mail messages will not load. "Retrieving Folder Contents. Please wait..."

2013-11-14 Thread Brylie Oxley
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327617

Bug ID: 327617
Summary: Mail messages will not load. "Retrieving Folder
Contents. Please wait..."
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.11.2
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: mail
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: bry...@gnumedia.org

Hello,
When I try to open a message in Kontact, through KMail, the message will not
load. The message window simply says "Retrieving Folder Contents. Please
wait...".

I am connecting to GMail via IMAP.

Is there a way to gather more information about the connection, to diagnose a
point of failure?

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Kontact
2. Click a message in the inbox
3. Wait...
Actual Results:
The display says "Retrieving Folder Contents. Please wait..."

Expected Results:
I would like the messages to display.

existing events are write-protected. I can change this with akonadiconsole, but
it doesnt save the changes.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to edit caldav-calendar in korganizer (doesnt work)
2.Open akonadiconsole and change the ACL for the caldavcalendar
(the"save"-button is grey and doesnt work)
3.Now you can edit events, but only a few minutes.

In KDE 4.11.3, this really prevents the crash (A notification of the errror is
shown twice at start-up).

There were multiple instances of Local Folders, Personal Calendar, and Personal
Contacts. After removing redundant instances everything seems to work fine.
Thanks for promptly commenting.

(This is a duplicate of a bug that I can't find right now :-))

Please open Akonadi Console, go to "Browser" tab and check whether there are
any duplicated folders in "Local Folders". If there are, remove the duplicated
folders and restart Kontact and Akonadi. That shoul fix your problem.
