[kontact] [Bug 331317] New: Feature request - Create Calendar event from E-Mail
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331317 Bug ID: 331317 Summary: Feature request - Create Calendar event from E-Mail Classification: Unclassified Product: kontact Version: 4.11.5 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: mail Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: andreas...@gmx.ch The E-Mail component of Kontact offers a nice feature. That is, you can create a ToDo reminder from an E-Mail by right clicking on it and selecting `Create To-do/Reminder`. However, while this is a nice feature, most of the time I actually want to create a calendar event out of an E-Mail. And unfortunately the people sending these E-Mails haven't figured out, yet, how to attach an iCal (or similar). So, here's the feature I want to suggest: Right click on the E-Mail text, or use a toolbar button, which says `Create Calendar Event`. It opens a dialog, where the current E-Mail's subject is copied into the event title, the message body is copied into the event's body, and optionally, it *attempts* to guess the Location and Start/End fields from contents in the message. (Doesn't have to be perfect) Configuration being the spirit of KDE, I could imagine a few configuration options like add sender/recipients to attendees, or add mail attachments to event attachments, etc. But, to me that's optional advanced stuff. I'm running Kontact 4.11.5 on openSuse 13.1. [Akonadi] [Bug 331321] New: Contacts aren't retrieved from CardDAV server / don't show up in the address book
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331321 Bug ID: 331321 Summary: Contacts aren't retrieved from CardDAV server / don't show up in the address book Classification: Unclassified Product: Akonadi Version: 4.11 Platform: Debian testing URL: (calendarserver) http://paste.debian.net/83046/ (dav groupware resource) http://paste.debian.net/83047/ (KAddressbook::GlobalContactSession) http://paste.debian.net/83049/ OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: DAV Resource Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: tho...@thomas-wunder.de Hi, I've set up an Apple calendarserver recently (which works pretty nicely with other clients) and I'd like to connect my kontact/kaddressbook (4.11.5 from debian jessie package) to it via CardDAV. Thus I added a DAV groupware resource, filled in my credentials and the calendar/addressbook URL and when I clicked 'Fetch' (in the resource configuration dialog) my addressbook (default folder) was listed as expected. However in kaddressbook not a single address book entry is being listed under that newly added address book (folder). I've countlessly tried to restart the agent, forced it to sync, removed it and set it back up (via akonadiconsole) with no luck. Having a look at the log of my calendarserver revealed that kaddressbook obviously tries to do use some HTTP REPORT method in a situation where the server probably can't deal with it. (Maybe that's the cause for the problem) Here are some log snippets that may help you understand what's going on here: * (calendarserver) http://paste.debian.net/83046/ * (dav groupware resource) http://paste.debian.net/83047/ * (KAddressbook::GlobalContactSession) http://paste.debian.net/83049/ Note: Upward synchronization works. That is an entry which was created inside that new address book default folder is being propagated to the server so that other clients can see it. I suspect this to not only be related to the calendar/addressbook service i use but I'm not a hundred percent sure whether it's not the servers fault… Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 0. Find / set up a working (and recent) Apple calendarserver (from http://trac.calendarserver.org/). I used my distris package (Debian Jessie) calendarserver_3.2+dfsg-5_amd64.deb 1.1 Open kontact / contacts 1.2 click right and select 'Add Address Book...' 1.3 select DAV groupware resource and click Ok to continue 1.4 enter your credentials (e.g. admin/admin in case of a freshly installed calendarserver), click Next to continue 1.5 select Configure the resource manually and click Finish 1.6 enter a display name and click on 'Add' 1.7 select protocol CardDAV and enter the remote URL e.g. (http://my.calendar.server.example.org:8008/principals/users/admin) and click on 'Fetch' 1.8 under Discovered collections an entry should appear with an URL like this: http://my.calendar.server.example.org:8008/addressbooks/__uids__/XXX----/addressbook/ 1.9 click 'Ok' twice to finish both dialogs 2. unhide the new address book ([default] folder) by clicking the check box next to it. You can also try to 'Update Address Book Folder' or restart the according resource agent using akonadiconsole: You won't see any contacts. (3.) Upward Sync works though, i.e. if you create a new address book entry inside that newly added address book resource it will be pushed up to the server. Actual Results: Address book entries aren't display neither are they synced (e.g. if a locally created entry gets modified / deleted by another client). Expected Results: Content/Entries of the address book should be displayed -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330846 --- Comment #9 from Christian Mollekopf mollek...@kolabsys.com --- For the truncated message I suggest you check the actual payload on the server. Sorry, I can't. This is a server from my provider ( t-mobile.at), which I have no control over. Ok, no problem. The only other thing I can think of is that the transmitted message size (446) is not big enough: A83 APPEND Sent Items (\Seen) {446} Feel free to reopen if you know more. I'll leave this at WAITINGFORINFO for now. I will try with your patches tomorrow and report back. Although I don't really think they will solve the problem. As I already wrote in comment#2, removing the UID SEARCH HEADER command did help. Since SEARCH is a readonly operaton and the server acknowledged the APPEND, this can only be a server problem it seems. I tried to remove the UID STORE command before that, but that still resulted in the truncation. Maybe a timing problem? (although that would point to a server problem I think) I can't imagine it since it's all sequential. Or maybe the last line should have a line feed as well in any case? (as I said, apparently only the text after the last line feed is lost) I'm not sure what the RFC's say regarding that... No newline required. The only other thing I can think of is that the transmitted message size (446) is not big enough: A83 APPEND Sent Items (\Seen) {446} I thought about this as well, but it works fine with the other servers I use. And it doesn't really seem to be related to the exact size, rather to the last line feed in the message. It's supposed to be the exact number of bytes that are part of the transferred data. Anyway, I will try to do more experiments. [kmail2] [Bug 327325] Open message composer in a tab
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327325 --- Comment #2 from Vitaliy Filippov vita...@yourcmc.ru --- In fact I like the usability of Opera Mail very much, that's why I've filed this bug. I would be very very happy if some opensource email client would have the same level of usability. Aside from composing messages in tabs there are some other features of KMail that hurt it, for example, you need to list messages with special hotkeys instead of just up/down/pgup/pgdown, because the focus always goes into the message view, so the message list doesn't get your keypresses. And yes, composing messages in tabs is a real killer-feature of Opera Mail... I really hate separate windows for each message and each composer. About the menu: yes, there is a menu... But maybe it's possible to merge it with the main window's one, and show/hide parts of it depending on current active tab? (if I remember correctly I've seen something like this in KDevelop) And some of the options may be even removed totally, because they're just duplicated with the main window's menu. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

Currently, akonadi_mailfilter_agentrc has my newly defined filters, so I can not check if it was empty. My only backup so old indicates that some days before the upgrade there were no such file. filters were stored on kmailrc. [kmail2] [Bug 316153] can't move or delete messages in imap inbox
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316153 cluebat clue...@mailinator.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||clue...@mailinator.com --- Comment #8 from cluebat clue...@mailinator.com --- I have the exact same issue. When I setup my IMAP account in KMail, I checked the box for server side subscriptions. Some IMAP clients I used long ago required the folders to be subscribed in order to see the contents so I just clicked that out of habit. For all intents and purposes, my Inbox was read-only but sub-folders thereof worked perfectly normal. I got directed to this bug after mentioning the issue on IRC. me too, +1, etc with KMail 4.10.5 Removing the account and adding it again without server side subscriptions corrected the problem. I tried just toggling that from akonadiconsole without KMail running but that made no difference. It really must not be set when the account is made (or maybe not set ever) for KMail to work properly. In case this is an issue with only some IMAP servers, my mail host runs Dovecot 2.2.10. I'm guessing the server side subscriptions work on at least some servers or this bug that is almost a year old would have more comments and not be left in unconfirmed state. Let's figure out which servers it doesn't work on so maybe the KDE-PIM devs have some useful info with which to better investigate this. My mail host is running Dovecot 2.2.10. For the others that have reported and anyone else that may also be experiencing this, please state which IMAP server software (to the best of your knowledge) you or your mail host are using. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
