Even if the resource appears to be created correctly in the Agent resources
(System Settings > PIM - the Google Contact resourse appears ready, with green
light), Kaddressbook does not show my Google contacts.

I can create a normal kde addressbook, which works and shows correctly, but it
is impossible to me to see the Google ones.

Kubuntu 14.04

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Kontact
2. Go to Kaddressbook
3.
Actual Results:
No Google Contacts showed

Expected Results:
Google contacts should be synchronized and listed inside Kaddressbook

I confirm that problem. Folder has currently a size of over 1 GB and 5100+
files. Problem started after upgrading to kde-4.13 and the introduction of the
baloo indexer. After the initial indexing the folder grew to this size.
Sometimes the files vanish after a few days (not 1 minute as stated in the
folder properties) but come back after any search. I would like to get rid of
it.

I can confirm this problem. It worked well until kde-4.12.4 but after
upgrading to kde-4.13 I get also always the "changed by another program" alert
upon every new mail delivered by postfix.
If I set up Akonadi again as suggested at
http://docs.kde.org/stable/de/kdepim/kmail/clean-start-after-a-failed-migration.html
it works well for a few days, and then the problem appears again.

[kmail2] [Bug 331156] Display of HTML-Message extremely slow

2014-04-23 Thread Orion
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331156

--- Comment #15 from Orion  ---
Created attachment 86232
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=86232&action=edit
sample mail causing cpu/ram spike and time lag

after more experimenting: the culprit seems to be a certain type of html mail
that, at least in my version, just shows up as a link to a webpage unless you
have html mail set to default.

If I set Kmail to "non html" as default BUT use Kaddressbook/Contact to allow
the sender of the attached mail in HTML format - then I see the CPU spike and
rise in RAM once I click on this mail.

[Akonadi] [Bug 333647] after upgrade to 4.13: one of two IMAP resources is reported "not functional"

please give me a hint how i can help to debug this. i am totally unable to work
on the "upgraded" machine. removing the resouce and re-adding it didn't help
but only also remove the offline folder from kmail and invalidate all filters
set for it. this is pretty grave.

how can i make akonadi tell my *why* it closes the connection to the IMAP
server, when it obviously still manages to fetch mails from it with 4.12?

If the word "attached" is entered into a message being composed, a message pops
up at the bottom of the window saying "The message you have composed seems to
refer to an attached file but you have not attached anything. Do you want to
attach a file to your message?"

This happens regardless of whether or not in Settings / Configure Kmail /
Composer / Attachments tab, "Enable detection of missing attachments" is
ticked.

(I've never seen the message before 4.13. Yet there's a blog post from 2004
where someone comments on it. Strange.)

I confirm this bug on KDE 14.3 with lag of +5 seconds + very high cpu + large
usage of RAM >500 Mb and growing.

remove "html mail" preference and all works well - even if you set a
contact/sender (in Kaddressbook) to be allowed html mail format instead of
default ... the lag then totally disappears with said user(s) even though the
mail is shown in HTML.

further the RAM usage then stays around 115 Mb

Will you create an easy and less resource consumer way (integrated with KMail)

Hello @all! :-)

Same issue here

After Updating (gentoo) the kde-packages from 4.12.4 to 4.13.0:
* on first start the migration-wizard was launched by default asking me to
import the knodes-Data.
* After that, which was done immediately and without showing a result, no
entries could bee found anymore as it seems nothing has been "imported" or
included/referred from the old/original knotes entries
* Probably interesting: knotes has not been started on login (or did not left
opened) as normally configured in my profile
* I checked in the knodes-settings for all possible collections to have them
in, all empty as already reported on previous posts
* 'knotes-migrator --interactive' also throws only an "empty" window.
* ./kde4/share/apps/knotesmigrator/migration.log contains:
[Mi. Apr 23 10:18:33 2014] Info   : Starting migration...
[Mi. Apr 23 10:18:34 2014] Info   : Migration finished.
* ./kde4/share/apps/knotes/notes.ics contains (still) all my notes
* as also ./kde4/share/apps/knotes/notes/libkcal-* all the appearance settings
per entry

Does knodes probably expect the entries to be in another directory?
And as workaround: can I import all my nodes afterwards, probably with the
ics-file(-content)?

Thank you for your precious work and for reading my questions!! :-)

Sincerely,
Thomas

To clarify:
- "keep locally" is relative to "Akonadi server", not the actual storage.
- data are always initially imported into Akonadi (necessary for various
reasons), but if the cache expiration policy is activated, they should be
removed from Akonadi and ~/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data again after some
period of time.

Just to make sure: please check that in ~/.config/akonadi/akonadiserverrc,
EnableCleaner is set to True (or is not set at all). If it is set to False,
stop Akonadi, remove the line and start Akonadi again.

--- Comment #4 from Daniel Vrátil  ---
Looks like a MySQL issue. Please check that you haven't run out of disk space,
make sure that file ~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/ibdata1 (and all other files
in that directory) are owned by your user and group and have at least -rw-rw---
rights and that the directory itself is writeable.

Finally, try the following:
cp ~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/ibdata1{,.backup}
mv ~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/ibdata1{,.mv}
cp -a ~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/ibdata1{.mv,}

(Found on the internet, reported by users to solve the "can't get ibdata1 lock"
problem.
