[Akonadi] [Bug 335235] New: kmail akonadi: imap resource cannot be accessed

2014-05-23 Thread hemathor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335235

Bug ID: 335235
Summary: kmail akonadi: imap resource cannot be accessed
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.13
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
  Assignee: chrig...@fastmail.fm
  Reporter: hemat...@gmx.de
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org

i have a dovecot imap server with 17 accounts which i want to access using
kmail.

i set up the akonadi resources without any problems until i added an account
with ~100.000 emails in ~30 folders and subfolders.

then suddenly i got a lot of error messages like 'account Connection Lost'
and others which i can't recall right now, and my dovecot server shows an error
message for the respective account 'Disconnected: Too many invalid IMAP
commands. in=758 out=1560' (the numbers differ).

especially when i start kmail and all akonadi imap resources go online, it
results in a firework of these error messages for any account.

Reproducible: Always

--- Comment #5 from Alex Merry alex.me...@kde.org ---
I can reproduce this with standalone KMail 4.13.1, using kdelibs 4.13.1, on
ArchLinux (Qt 4.8.6).

As with the others, I have the message list on the left (under the folder
list), and the message pane on the right. I also have a very small screen real
estate (1024x600). The columns shrink whenever I change the sorting (by
clicking a column header) or change mail directory.

I don't recall having this issue even a few months ago (I don't use email much
on this machine, so I'm not sure quite what the timing was). I'm going to try
playing around with configuration settings, and possibly building a local copy
of KMail and/or kdepimlibs and putting debug statements in.

[Akonadi] [Bug 335235] kmail akonadi: imap resource cannot be accessed

2014-05-23 Thread hemathor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335235

i just started kmail and was bothered by the following different messages for
each account (aka akonadi imap resource):
'account: There is currently no session to the imap server available'

dovecot still complains with:
'Disconnected: Too many invalid IMAP commands. in=758 out=1560'
(numbers vary)

if i use the akonadicontrol tool and toggle online/offline status of the
respective resource, everything seems to be ok.

greetings...

i can confirm this problem for 4.13.1 on gentoo. It is especially noticable for
tasks which never disappear.

Server side: DaviCal Server 1.1.1

clearing the akonadi cache fixes the problem, because it refeteches everything.

[kmail2] [Bug 335242] New: Marking Unread msgs from multiple folders as read is only processed for one folder

2014-05-23 Thread Blackpaw
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335242

Bug ID: 335242
Summary: Marking Unread msgs from multiple folders as read is
only processed for one folder
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.13.1
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: lindsay.mathie...@gmail.com

I have a Saved Search folder that filters on unread messages (Message Status =
Unread). Often there will be unread messages from multiple folders in that one
search folder.

If I do a Mark All Read on the unread search folder, it marks all the
messages as read in the search folder.

*But* For all the actual folders where the unread msgs are, only one folder
will have its unread count cleared (it always seems to be the first folder in
the tree).

Initially, for the folders which are displaying an unread count, the messages
actually display as read - hence the count would appear to be inaccurate.

Soon though (next sync?) the messages will revert to showing an unread status
and *can't* be marked read.

Restarting kontact does not resolve the problem, but eventually it resolves
itself - next sync maybe?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a saved search folder that displays all unread messages (Status =
Unread)
2. Wait for multiple unread messages to appear, from multiple folders
3. Using the saved search folder, mark all messages read
Actual Results:
- Only the first unread folder has it unread count set to 0

- the other unread folders will initially have no unread messages, despite
displaying an unread count

- Eventually the msgs will revert to an unread state and can't be marked unread

Expected Results:
All messages should be marked read
All folder unread counts should be set to 0

Rather than waiting for new msgs to arrive you can just mark message unread for
testing

ok, this time clearing the akonoadi cache was not enough.

i had to run:
rm agent_config_akonadi_davgroupware_resource_0_changes.dat

to get the resource up again.

[kmail2] [Bug 335255] New: Quick filtering the mail subject with ***Spam*** shows also mails without ***

2014-05-23 Thread Thomas Arend
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335255

Bug ID: 335255
Summary: Quick filtering the mail subject with ***Spam***
shows also mails without ***
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.13.1
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: search
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: tho...@arend-rhb.de
CC: m...@vhanda.in

When filtering the mails in ten message list window for ***Spam*** also the
mails containing spam are shown. Escaping the asterix \* does not work.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert ***Spam*** into the quick filter.

(I thing you will have some of these if not you are a lucky guy.)
Actual Results:
All messages containing spam are listed.

Expected Results:
Only messages containing ***Spam*** should be listed.

This is a mayor function - at least for me.

2014-05-23 Thread Thomas Arend

Summary: Das Grantlee-Design „“ ist ungültig.
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.13.1
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list

  Reporter: tho...@arend-rhb.de

After updating from 4.12.3 every message has following words in the first line:

Das Grantlee-Design „“ ist ungültig.

I don't find the message text an adequate position for error messages.

on opensuse 13.1 with kde 4.13.1 I think I have the same problem. In summary
view only those events are shown that are today or on that day that is after
the number of days set in the configuration minus 1. Example: if I set a period
of 14 days to show the upcoming events, the events of today and day 13 are
shown.

Bug 278956 has a patch (in comment #12) which solves this bug for me. (My
calendar is in owncloud).
