[kmail2] [Bug 311184] Everlasting "Please wait while the message is transferred"

2014-06-24 Thread William Paul Liggett
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311184

--- Comment #5 from William Paul Liggett ---
My apologies, I've just restarted my computer and KMail can now open up e-mails
once again. However, before I restarted I did fully restart KMail a number of
times (I had to use the "kill -9" method as it wouldn't die. Well, visually
the app would quit but I could still see it in "ps aux").

However, out of curiosity (after rebooting and getting KMail to work again), I
re-ran "nepomukserver" in terminal and after I clicked on the binocular icon,
KMail crashed via a segmentation fault. I opened a new bug report on this
matter over at: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336687

[kmail2] [Bug 336687] New: KMail Crashes with "nepomukserver" and Trying to Search

2014-06-24 Thread William Paul Liggett
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336687

Bug ID: 336687
Summary: KMail Crashes with "nepomukserver" and Trying to
Search
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: junkt...@junktext.org

Application: kmail (4.12.5)
KDE Platform Version: 4.12.5
Qt Version: 4.8.6
Operating System: Linux 3.14.8-200.fc20.x86_64 x86_64
Distribution (Platform): Fedora RPMs

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

See the bug report for #311184 as I did a write-up of my background of how I
arrived at this situation. Essentially, I am on GNOME Shell v3.10.2 (Fedora
20, 64-bit) and I am using KMail v4.12.5, and I was unable to use the full
e-mail search capability (the binoculars icon). So, I ran the "nepomukserver"
command in terminal to make the full search dialog actually work. However,
this is where this bug comes in, after I type something for the search dialog
to look for and right when I click on "Search", KMail crashes from a
segmentation fault.

--William (junktext)

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Fix Bug 331156 - Display of HTML-Message extremely slow

FIXED-IN: 4.13.3

It's not a fix because it's in webkit the problem and there will not new update
of webkit.
I added a variable to disable/enable htmlquote (it's disable by default).
=> we will lose html quoted color :(
Too bad.
I will add a gui in 4.14 to configure it.

[kmail2] [Bug 311184] Everlasting "Please wait while the message is transferred"

2014-06-24 Thread William Paul Liggett
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311184

William Paul Liggett changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||junkt...@junktext.org

--- Comment #4 from William Paul Liggett ---
Yeah, I am having the same issues that the original poster, Bernd Oliver
Sünderhauf, mentioned two years ago, but I may have arrived at the same
conditions via a different path. I am using KMail v4.12.5 on GNOME Shell
v3.10.2 (Fedora 20, 64-bit) and this is a summary of my issue to be clear:

1. I cannot open any e-mails any longer. Double-clicking on a message does
nothing. It doesn't even attempt to open the e-mail. When I right-clicking on
a message and select "Reply" (or if I press the "R" key), all that happens is
an endless loading dialog that says, "Please wait while the message is
transferred". Nothing ever happens.

2. I was using KMail successfully, with two different e-mail accounts. One was
an IMAP (via SSL) connection to a regular e-mail server, and my other e-mail
was a connection to a GMail account. Both were working fine until...

3a. Since I am on Fedora (on GNOME Shell, not KDE), I was trying to figure out
how to get the full search feature (Nepomuk) working. As when I would click on
the icon with the binoculars (that has the pop-up label "Open Full Search"), I
would simply get a message saying:

Search Not Available - KMail

The Nepomuk semantic search service is not available. Searching is not possible
without it. You can enable it in "System Settings".

3b. Keep in mind that I am on GNOME Shell, not KDE, thus I don't think the
reference to me opening up and enabling Nepomuk in "System Settings" means much
to me (I cannot find such a menu on GNOME Shell). After searching around on
the forums/bug reports, I ran across hints about needing to start the Nepomuk
program and to monitor what it is doing via the Akonadi Console. In short on
this regard, I ran the command "nepomukserver" in terminal then I was able to
get Akonadi Console to make the "Akonadi Nepomuk Feeder" agent to fully index
my e-mail. I was happy about this, since I wanted to search my e-mail more
thoroughly and I was finally able to get the binocular icon to show me a search
dialog (instead of the error message). Yet, this new search dialog ended up
being worthless, since it couldn't pull up any e-mails I searched for.

4. This is when I noticed the problem of not being able to open up any of my
e-mail messages as I stated at paragraph label "1." Thus, I think Nepomuk
destroyed my KMail. In the meantime, I'll head back to using GNOME's
Evolution. But, I'll leave my KMail in this state of disrepair in case
somebody has a suggestion.

[knotes] [Bug 333640] Knotes version 4.13 don't inherit previous notes

2014-06-24 Thread Holger
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=333640

Maybe Akonadi thought, your resources were in read-only mode for some strange
reason?

In my case changes to imported notes are persisted somewhere, somehow and
survive a reboot ... I just don't see them as maildir-folder formated files. I
wonder how/what to backup? In contrast any new notes are written to the
expected folder.

Here's a reproducible test case (4.13.1, Arch linux). Refetching the feed only
adds extra entries and decreases the negative count further. There are a couple
other wierd things about it, like empty entries (non-deletable) and nplicates
before refresh, but see for yourself:
http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal/data/call/h2020/callupdates-rss.xml

This bug is annoying, since it causes the "systray" icon to stay hidden, due to
the total new article count being below zero. That way akregator fails in its
primary use case. :|

The problem wasn't that I wanted to see it as plain text, but rather the
opposite. If the global setting is "show as HTML" and the contact setting is
"Show messages received from this contact as: HTML" then it shows the email as
plain text ;)

Problem with email that you want to see in plain text when global settings is
"show as html" was fixed in 4.14. We can't do it in 4.13.x because there is a
lot changes and there is a new menu to specify if we want to force folder in
plain text when global settings is "html"

'Also the addressbook in question was disabled. Shouldn't disabled addressbooks
be ignored?' it's not show in kaddressbook it's not disable in akonadi. So it's
normal that it searchs in this addressbook too.

May be it could help to see how it was done in Kmail1?

[kmail2] [Bug 259813] reading mails in unread mode instantly disappears from list

2014-06-24 Thread Christoph Feck
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259813

My guess is that it's just not easy to change. If the filtered view is designed
to reflect the status of the message, it will disappear when it is read. I
don't know the internals, but I think a new status ("read but not really read")
would need to be introduced.

[kmail2] [Bug 336653] kmail inverts HTML view settings

2014-06-24 Thread Thomas Tanghus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336653

OK, it seems I have found the reason:

I tried a while ago to have a separate addressbook for whitelisting specific
email adresses to show as HTML and load external references.
As that was ignored in previous versions I disabled the addressbook and went
back to just having it as default.
Now the contact specific settings is taken into account, instead of using that
setting, it inverts the global setting!

This sounds like an honest mistake and an easy fix.

My guess is that it is coded like this (pseudo code)

renderHTML = globalRenderHTML;
if(contactSettingRenderHTML) {
renderHTML = !globalRenderHTML;
}

Where instead it should be:

renderHTML = globalRenderHTML;
if(contactSettingRenderHTML) {
renderHTML = contactSettingRenderHTML;
}

While fixing it please consider only rendering the content after any contact
specific setting has been read, because as it is now it first shows the plain
text version and then afterwards it renders the HTML version.
Also the addressbook in question was disabled. Shouldn't disabled addressbooks
be ignored? Even though I would never have found the reason if they were ;)

But great that whitelisting email addresses this way works now :)

Maybe I should mention that I have no folder specific settings for the above,
and have never used any.

[kmail2] [Bug 336653] New: kmail inverts HTML view settings

2014-06-24 Thread Thomas Tanghus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336653

Bug ID: 336653
Summary: kmail inverts HTML view settings
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.13.1
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: tho...@tanghus.net

I have KMail set to show HTML and load external references.
After upgrading to Kubuntu 14.04 it shortly shows the messages as HTML, but
then reverts to plain text and the toggle button I had added doesn't work.
After changing the settings to *not* show as HTML and *not* load external
references, it now does show HTML and loads external references :P

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set KMail to show as HTML and load external references.

Actual Results:
It shows plain text

Expected Results:
It should show as HTML

I'm on 4.13.2 but it is marked as 4.13.1 as that what the highest selectable
version.

[kmail2] [Bug 324424] i can not select my S/MIME certificate for Email Signature

2014-06-24 Thread Enrico Tagliavini
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=324424

Exact same problem with: gentoo linux, kde 4.12.5 using S/MIME.

I have an x509 certificate released by CN=Deutsche Telekom Root CA
2,OU=T-TeleSec Trust Center,O=Deutsche Telekom AG,C=DE and it is trusted in
Kleopatra. The main purpose of this certificate is email signing.

The certificate is imported in Kleopatra and the private key is as well.
Kleopatra gives me the option to export the private key and I can sign files
from kleopatra with this certificate with S/MIME. Problem is kmail not listing
it
