I saw work somewhere online that would add IDLE support for other folders, but it's possible that'd be at the cost of 1 connection per folder ... For performance reasons the IMAP resource keeps the connections open as long as possible, so it should not matter whether you enable/disable interval check. I have a hunch that performance is more hampered by the fact that messages are downloaded systematically even when right-clicked to be deleted or when part of a multiple selection (I am not downloading offline copies) than by reconnecting to the server. Provided each reconnect isn't going to present a wallet unlock request, of course. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338556 Bug ID: 338556 Summary: Kaddressbook (export to .vcf files) does not correctly split long lines Product: kaddressbook Version: 4.13 Platform: Mageia RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: juergen.ha...@unige.ch CC: to...@kde.org Created attachment 88422 -- https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=88422action=edit Example of an incorrectly folded addressbook item Exporting an addressbooks into a .vcf file produces incorrect data when folded (slit) long lines are written. RFC 822 (and, based on this, RFC2425 and RFC2426) specify that lines with a length exceeding 75 characters should be folded - splitting off continuation lines - and how this is to be done: - according to these standards, splitting should be achieved by REPLACING a whitespace by a CR-whitespace sequence - kaddressbook, rather than replacing a whitespace as specified, simply INSERTS a CR at - apparently - arbitrary places. As a consequence, addressbook items exported from kaddressbook may contain wrong additional whitespaces; worse, if such an extraneous whitespace appears within a string that specifies an UTF-encoded character, importing the addressbook data into another program will normally fail. Ordinarily, the length of most addressbook items does not exceed 75 characters - this problem therefore is unlikely to strike in addressbooks with only English items (that do not contain characters that require UTF encoding). But, if adressbook-items contain characters that, on export, produce UTF-encoded strings, the string representing such items are much longer and the bug becomes very annoying: it is practically not possible to use kaddressbook for exporting French or German addressbooks, for instance for synchronising with tabletts or smart phones. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Akonadi] [Bug 335090] Akonadi Dav Resource: Broken State / Unexpected Error 401
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335090 --- Comment #21 from Ingo Ratsdorf i...@envirology.co.nz --- The way the resource is designed is the following: Say we delete an event from Calendar in KOrganizer: 1) Akonadi calls item-deleted function in resource 2) Resource grabs url and etag and send a delete request to the caldav server together with an if-match header and the stored etag. 3) If everything worked, resource deletes item from akonadi collection Now comes the tricky bit: If the above DOES NOT WORK (because the item was changed meanwhile before we sent that delete request), the resource gets a 412 error back from the server and calls its retry function and that does emit broken, offline. So in order for this to work, we need to introduce conflict resolution handling. Ie in the above, have three exclusive options: 1) ask the user for input, 2) delete anyway (we are the boss), 3) reload from server. This currently does not work as the dav job is not given to the retry function, only the error message. So I am working on some user configurable conflict resolution and properly handle the retry function. In the above example of deleting an element: 1) Ask user for input and then do one of the below 2) Server wins: ignore delete request and start new job to retrieve updated item from DAV server - if that fails, either ignore silently or notify user 3) Client wins: Restart the job without the if-match header, delete the item. If that fails, delete item from collection only, and/or notify user This all will need some proper handling of the various error codes, ie 401 and 501 probably should set the resource offline, 412 should update items, etc. It will also need a check whether the server went away and the resource should then go offline too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Akonadi] [Bug 335090] Akonadi Dav Resource: Broken State / Unexpected Error 401
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335090 --- Comment #22 from fry...@ruggedinbox.com --- (In reply to Ingo Ratsdorf from comment #20) Not quite sure what exactly this patch will solve, This solve the problem of the bug report, what Till Schafer say. When dav is back again then the calendar events are now created. Till forgot to add to restart the resource, else the bug will not reproduce. however it will not solve the main issue that there is absolutely no conflict resolution within the resource. This is not the bug reported. Use another report. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283682 Sylvain ago.sylv...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||ago.sylv...@gmail.com --- Comment #91 from Sylvain ago.sylv...@gmail.com --- Using Kmail version 4.14 on archlinux. I enabled bogofilter and I have the problem of multiple copies (thousands!) of the same mail when a new mail arrives. seems to be the same as this bug. If I disable bogofilter, the problem disappear. I sent me an email from $m...@gmail.com to $PROMAIL@univ_mail and logged everything. I waited to have multiple copies (5) before putting kmail offline. when I put it online again it will download one more copies (read state directly) and stop there (sorry no log).
