I have noticed this too. After some testing I have been able to verify it
since version 4.11 and it is still present in 4.14 of kmail (I have tested this
using the Debian and openSUSE packages). I think that it is probably a bug in
akonadi. I believe that the problem is always reproducible if multiple emails
are moved in one operation.

To reproduce:

1. Highlight multiple emails (they can be in an imap account or a maildir
resource) in kmail.
2. Move or copy them to a local maildir resource, either by dragging them, or
via the right click menu.
3. The emails are removed from the origin mentioned in 1 both in kmail and by
inspecting the resource manually.
4. All of the emails appear in the maildir when accessed via kmail.
5. Only one of the emails is actually written to the maildir on disk (the
others only exist in the akonadi database).

This also affects "expiring" a folder to a maildir.

In addition to confirming this (and hopefully seeing it resolved), I would like
to ask if there is a way to force kmail to write the emails to disk. Currently
I have hundreds of emails that only exist in akonadi that I would like to
actually have in the maildir. One solution would be to move everything to an
imap folder (so that they actually exist somewhere outside of akonadi) but the
maildir contains thousands of emails and I am not sure which are missing
(moving all of them would be unfeasible).

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338751

Hi!

Sry, I still do not understand:

Filters work on sent messages... even for IMAP folders...
And I was under the impression that I can designate any IMAP folder to be the
one used for sending. So "sent messages" is not an incoming folder but an
arbitrary one.
Still filtering there is possible...

Also manual filtering is, or least was, possible, in folders or an a selection
of mails (not necessarily located in incoming)...

Plz could you clarify how this works at the moment and whether this is how it
is supposed to work?

thx for your efforts,

When trying to send a note the akonadi_notes_agent receiver process displays
this message:

  Object::connect: No such signal

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure KNotes on the receiver computer to Accept incoming notes
2. If necessary open TCP port 24837
3. From the sender computer use the KNotes "Send..." function and send a note
specifying the receiver IP address

Actual Results:
Nothing happens on the receiver.

Expected Results:
Have the remote note added to the notes on the receiver computer.

To be somewhat more precise: KMail does not hang/freeze completely, you still
can fully use the GUI, change to different mail folders, use all menus, etc.
However, no Mail will be displayed any more in the message viewing subwindow.

Also, this behaviour occurs regardless from where the message containing the
calender event is fetched: Messages from the IMAP server as well as messages
from any local mail folder cause the same hang-up as soon as they contain a
calender event.

For me also the filter protocol log stays empty though I have set up spam
filters. It worked for about half an hour and than stopped. So my guess is that
the mail filter agent (though it shows as active in akonadi console) just
somehow quits silently. This is worse than not working at all because the
behaviour leads to some folders half filtered get refiltered on next start of
KDE but some actions are omitted (cause nothing is "incoming" for example)...

This is very annoying and seems to be a seious regression.

Same problem heere.
Kmail 4.14.0 on archlinux x86_64.

I've looked at the akonadi db with the akonadi console and I DON'T have the
duplicated folder.

A few days ago I've "solved" the very same problem deleting all the akonadi
folders and reconfiguring the account, but now I'm stuck with this problem
again.

Restarting akonadi doesn't have any result... I'm still stuck on "Retreiving
folder content".

On the akonadi console, I see a run with is running and doesn't progress: its
type is "IncidenceFetchJob" and it seems it's waiting for a child (type
CollectionFetchJob) which IS finished (state: ended).

If more info is needed, I'm willing to help.
