Hey,

I'm not really a big fan of having the resource creating a new event that will
never be sent back to the server. It's not how Akonadi is supposed to work and
the design doesn't support this easily.

Re-assigning to KOrg to see if something can be done at this level to have the
event displayed.

Cheers,
Grégory

I cannot start Kmail any more because it will result in thousands of empty
messages being created on the IMAP server (Gmail). Nothing I do seems to
prevent this mess.

You installed plugins widget from libkdepim which provides addresslineedit
which depends on akonadi.
so it's normal.
Don't install it if you don't want it :)

[kdepimlibs] [Bug 349662] New: Qt Designer starts Akonadi server

2015-06-27 Thread Alexander Potashev
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349662

Bug ID: 349662
Summary: Qt Designer starts Akonadi server
   Product: kdepimlibs
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: aspotas...@gmail.com

If Akonadi server was not running, and I start Qt Designer, then it starts
Akonadi. I don't think Akonadi server is necessary for the widgets'
functionality in Qt Designer, so no need to start it.

Reproducible: Always
