Looks similar, although the error message is slightly different. Reassigning to
kimap, which is where the actual APPEND operation takes place. 
This commit looks like a likely candidate to being the cause of this,
unfortunately with all the splitting of kdepimlibs into multiple interdependent
libraries, trying to bisect something is a nightmare.

Can you take a look at the small patch attached to this bug.  Looks ok to me,
but I'm not a GSSAPI user.  I'm not sure any of us developers use GSSAPI hence

I am currently using Ubuntu Vivid with kubuntu-backports as it is and that
works for me, and has been since Vivid was released in April.

It has been a while, but for what I remember, I saw Laurent implement some
things in my patch at some point, but not all,  However, everything works for
me right now without any patching of my own.

What comes to this bug, I do consider it as done.  My patch in itself, I do
consider it applies to the version I reported, since I had to use it to get
things working.

I recently went back and set this folder to expire old emails. I allowed kmail
to delete the old emails, and on the subsequent login the problem was gone.

To me this means it is likely a problem with a too large IMAP folder.

I restarted akonadi with LANG=C and this isn't reproducible, so it looks like
you're on the right track.

- add "commemorative" when appropriate to public and cultural days
- split Ascension date to the proper one vs the one mostly celebrated
  in Italy (see bug#329285)
- split "Festa della Repubblica" which was not "public" (commemorative
  only) before 2001
- move "Festa dell'Unità nazionale" to commemorative (end of WWI)
