Thanks for the command. After further resarch (and talking to dvratil on
#akonadi) it seems I may be hitting this bug
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341884

I'm on Kubuntu, so I'll see what I can do to get the latest packages.

I do think this bug has been fixed. Please use at least kdepim 4.14.10 and
Akonadi 1.13 + the necessary patches or Akonadi 15.08+.

At least for Maildir items. Please file a different bug if you see it for other
items than Maildir items.

I have only 357 items with a total of 14 MiB in there after a long time, with
SizeThreshold=16384 in [%General] section of ~/.config/akonadi/akonadiserverrc,
this reduces the amount of files stored externally.

The kdepim packages from Debian Unstable/Testing I think have this fix. It may
has been backported for kdepim for Jessie, check Debian changelog.

[Akonadi] [Bug 354472] New: Kolab resource crashed in Akonadi::ResourceBasePrivate::slotAttributeRetrievalCollectionFetchDone

2015-10-27 Thread Alex Merry via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354472

Bug ID: 354472
   Summary: Kolab resource crashed in

llectionFetchDone
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: GIT (master)
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Kolab Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: alex.me...@kde.org
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

The kolab resource crashed in the background while I wasn't doing anything (I
wasn't even near the computer). It looks like a Akonadi::CollectionFetchJob ran
and didn't manage to get any collections (for whatever reason).

Reproducible: Didn't try

FWIW, GDB dump of the job's private class (lots of empty QVectors):

(gdb) print *(Akonadi::CollectionFetchJobPrivate*)(fetchJob->d_ptr)
$6 = { = {_vptr.JobPrivate = 0x7f02598fcae8 , q_ptr = 0x1a5e8f0, mParentJob = 0x0,
mCurrentSubJob = 0x0, mTag = 6361,
mSession = 0x18da8c0, mWriteFinished = false, mStarted = true}, mType =
Akonadi::CollectionFetchJob::Base, mBase = {d_ptr = {d = 0x18914d0}}, mBaseList

[Akonadi] [Bug 354056] Deleted emails stay, but greyed out

--- Comment #6 from Quentin Henriet  ---
I have the same problem with a fresh install of Kubuntu Wily.

I am using filters to move my e-mails in my local folders, and as the mails are
not really deleted from the IMAP server, I have a new copy of the mail in my
local folder every 5 minutes (every sync) but these messages are greyed, marked
unread, and unselectable.

[kmail2] [Bug 354448] New: Window resize resizes left side bar instead of main content pane (message preview pane)

2015-10-27 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=354448

Bug ID: 354448
   Summary: Window resize resizes left side bar instead of main
content pane (message preview pane)
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: moenshend...@gmail.com

I'm using "short folder list" and "show the message preview pane next to the
message list" in the kmail layout options.

When resizing the window, the left sidebar increases in size, while in this
layout it would be expected that the size of the message preview pane would
change. This behaviour is very annoying as I frequently resize and always have
to readjust the sidebar width (when maximizing the window this behaviour can
cause the sidebar to take up up to 70% of the total width of the application).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open kmail
2. Set "show short folder list" and "show message preview pane next to the
message" in setting (Configure > Appearance > Layout)
3. Resize the window

Actual Results:
The side bar increases and decreases in size. When the window is made very
small (e.g. using window tiling) and is then maximized, the side bar takes up a
huge portion of the window.

Expected Results:
The sidebar size remains the same, and the content pane increases in size
(preferred)
OR
Both the content pane and sidebar resize relative to their respective size

[kmail2] [Bug 316153] can't move or delete messages in imap inbox

2015-10-27 Thread Gauss via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316153

Gauss  changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||third-imp...@gmx.de

--- Comment #25 from Gauss  ---
I can also confirm "this" bug, while a bit different then in the original
report.
I can move mails between folders, but the delete aka purge function does not
seem to work. Deleted mails are greyed out and can neither be selected nor
purged within kmail.
The mails are marked as deleted (in my IMAP webinterface), however purge is not
being called, although the folder compression option to purge deleted mails is
checked in the settings.

!
This bug is particularly grave when combined with mail filtering. The filter
first moves the mail to another folder, but cannot purge it. The next times the
filter is called that non-purged mail is again filtered and moved to that
folder. So each time the filter is called, in the target folder there is the
original mail plus nFilterCalls x the non-purged mail. The account basically
explodes if many big mails are received and the filter is called often.
!

If I go to my IMAP web interface and manually purge the deleted mails
everything is fine again... until new mails arrive. So the only thing I can do
is disable my filters, thus this bug actually breaks a lot more features!

The bug exists since an upgrade from Ubuntu 15.04 to 15.10, Kmail version is
5.0.2

I have a very large IMAP folder and the akonadi-imap-resource takes forever to
read it after the latest upgrade to 15.08.2. Previous version read my emails in
a few minutes but current takes hours if it ever completes the process. This
renders the whole support for IMAP broken since you cannnot receive or view new
e-mails.
