[kmail2] [Bug 357914] New: uncomplete synchronisation with addressbooks owncloud; forgetting assigned colours

2016-01-13 Thread Michael Zywek via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357914

Bug ID: 357914
   Summary: uncomplete synchronisation with addressbooks owncloud;
forgetting assigned colours
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@zywek.eu

There are some problems with the PIM Kontact. I’m working with two
KDE-Computers, and both have the same problem. The synchronisation with my
owncloud-addressbook does work only for a small part of my adresses. Per
Addressbook I see at about twenty addresses, but there are on the server per
book at about 150 adresses. It seems as if there would be a limit. To
synchronize again (F5) does not help.
I like to use colours for my categories and calendars. Korganizer forgets with
every logout or shutoff the assigned colours.
These two bugs make it almost impossible to work with the PIM in ancomfortable
and fluent way.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. everytime if I launch whole the PIM or only kmail 5.1 or kaddressbook
2.
3.

Expected Results:
downloading and showing all addresses, which I stored in my
owncloud-addressbooks;
whenever I launch I find the same assigned colours for categories and
calendars.

Does someone have an example how to reliably reproduce this?

I've uninstalled networkmanager and tried several times to trigger this with:
 ifdown eth0 && ifup eth0 && dhclient

even inserting several sleep times between the ifdown and ifup.

and afterwards checking
qdbus org.kde.kded /modules/networkstatus
org.kde.Solid.Networking.Client.status

Always showed the correct status.

[kontact] [Bug 357924] New: kontakt crashes when opening from startmenu (while it should have been visibile from taskbar as icon...but wasn't

2016-01-13 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357924

Bug ID: 357924
Summary: kontakt crashes when opening from startmenu (while it
should have been visibile from taskbar as icon...but
wasn't
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: staka...@freenet.de

Application: kontact (4.14.10)
KDE Platform Version: 4.14.10
Qt Version: 4.8.6
Operating System: Linux 4.1.13-5-default x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE Leap 42.1 (x86_64)"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I have set kontakt to show as icon if mail is there. There was mail but I did
not see the icon (kontact was reduced to icon).

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
When I clicked on the button of the startmenu kontact crashed immediately and
konqi popped up.
The unusual was that the icon with the number of mails was not visibile.
Normally it is (and there where about 63 unread messages of several mailing
lists, so it should have shown).
After restarting all is normal.

[kmail2] [Bug 343034] KMail insists on offline mode, even when network connection is available

2016-01-13 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla

(In reply to Andre Heinecke from comment #5)
> Does someone have an example how to reliably reproduce this?

Unfortunately, no.

However, I have Network Manager installed but do not use it for wired networks.
I'm manually using dhclient instead. Maybe this does not properly work?

I've never tried without network manager being installed.

BTW, a workaround to get kMail going (most of the times, though) is to perform
the dhclient comment twice:

$ dhclient -v eth0 ; killall dhclient ; ifconfig eth0 down ; dhclient -v eth0

This will often do the job for me.

Kleopatra segfaults when pressing the button "Load Certification" for pgp keys

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Double clock an OpenPGP key
2. Go to the tab: "User IDs & Certifications"
3. Press button "Load Certification (may take a while)"

It seem that there is an infinite recursion (full trace is attached):

   Version: 2.2.0
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: aheine...@intevation.de
  Reporter: till2.schae...@uni-dortmund.de
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, m...@kde.org

I have updated to kdepim 15.12.1 theses days. Previously i have used kdepim
from the KDE 4 series and used KGPG for PGP key management. Since KGPG is not
ported to KF5 i gave Kleopatra a try and was a bit disappointed regarding its
visual appearance of the PGP-Keys. It does not show the relevant informations
as fast as KGPG. ;Many daily use informations are hidden in sub-dialogs.

Therefore, this is a wish for an explicit pgp view:
- having an explicit filter for OpenPGP keys
- allow a hierarchical view for pgp keys:
  -> showing subkeys / identities (i.e. the e-mail addresses)
-> showing signatures for the pgp key (to decide it it may be trusted)
- show a trust level

Reproducible: Always

Thanks for reporting this. I've already seen it and it's on my Todo but there
was no report about this. This is a regression from the Qt5 / KF5 port but I
think the bug is that the underlying model in kleo is not correct.

I agree with you. Patches welcome :-)

Well not with the Subkeys, subkeys are imho a Technical Detail. But I think
what you mean by
"-> showing subkeys / identities (i.e. the e-mail addresses)" is showing
additional UIDs.

I'll try to clarify. Kwallet is called by kmail -- which is not started yet (at

There is no need for that. The info you have posted is already enough and the
problem is clear and reproducible.

The problem is likely that there is a cycle in the model which qt wants to
layout as a tree.

I should probably just try to fix it instead of talking about it ;-)

Same as bug#283345 I guess

I have a similar one with kaddressbook bug#357266 - and my guess is that the
application uses short numeric ids to reference akonadi database records which,
after a rebuild, have completely different ids at random. Just a hunch.

[kmail2] [Bug 357945] New: Deleting a message on an IMAP account moves the message to local "Trash" instead of IMAP "Trash"

2016-01-13 Thread David Tonhofer via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357945

Bug ID: 357945
Summary: Deleting a message on an IMAP account moves the
message to local "Trash" instead of IMAP "Trash"
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.14.7
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: folders
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: bugh...@gluino.name

Heads-up to the maintainer: Selectable version numbering on this bug lists
4.14.7 and 5.1, but I have 4.14.10 (using KDE development platform 4.14.14).
Should probably be completed

Created an IMAP "receving account" called "bughunt"

In the "Advanced Part", the "Trash folder" is set to the remote "Trash", i.e.
"bughunt/inbox/Trash"

However, when deleting a message using "Move to Trash" in dropdown menu or
"delete" key, the deleted message does not appear in the IMAP folder "Trash"
but instead appears in the "Local Folders" "trash" (written with lowercase)

Reproducible: Always

David, that is exactly what happens. It is known to the developers. Challenge
is to get unique ids working with all Akonadi resources, say for example IMAP.
How do uniquely identify a mail with IMAP? Always check for the message-id.

We discussed this on KDE Randa Meetings last year and we didn´t come to an easy
implementable solution so far. I do not recall all of the discussion. If you
want to move this further along I suggest you bring up the topic on kde-pim
mailing list.

Other than that thank you that you create bug relations. There are several
duplicates of it. I am pretty sure I reported it as well..

Larx, two questions:

1) What versions of KDEPIM / Akonadi have you seen this with last?

2) Did you by chance delete the database? Or change DB type from one to
another, SQLite to MySQL or so?

Although Akonadi should be only a cache it is *not* safe to delete the
database. You will loose folder assignments that way. Also Akonadi does not
migrate the database if you change to another DB type. So you will loose folder
assignments on that as well. See:

Bug 336581 - accidental database loss causes Akonadi / KMail to silently break
correct folder assignments

Thanks,
Martin
