Thanks for the video, really drives the point home :)

What do you mean by "server not available" exactly? I see that your WiFi
connection is up, so network is here, but is the server down (so HTTP requests
would get a connection refused) or are the connections ending with a timeout?
Also are you behind a captive portal?

OK, but this is how it's supposed to work: first request is made without the
Authorization header to ensure that authentication is needed, but the second
one should have it. Is that not the case?

[kmail2] [Bug 359054] New: Save attachment: always offering /usr/bin

2016-02-06 Thread Martin Kostolný via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359054

Bug ID: 359054
Summary: Save attachment: always offering /usr/bin
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: clearmar...@zoho.com

When saving attachment incorrect directory path (/usr/bin) is suggested and I
always need to select the proper one (which is for me always the same). The
side effect of this suggestion is loading unnecessarily big contents of
/usr/bin directory.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on an attachment in mail
2. In dialog click "Save as..."

Actual Results:
Suggested path is /usr/bin

Expected Results:
Suggested path should be home folder or last folder I used for saving an
attachment.

I used to suffer from this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357557
...where the result of suggesting path file://home/user/ was showing also
/usr/bin contents. But after some time it is directly showed /usr/bin.

I also tried to test with clean config (empty home directory) and the first
suggestion when saving attachment was a proper home directory one. But maybe
after a restart it was back to /usr/bin. Even when I select a home directory to
save attachment, then save it and then try to save it again -> /usr/bin is
suggested again.

I have Plasma 5.5.4, KF 5.18, KDE Apps 15.12.1, Qt 5.5.1, (KMail 5.1.1)

[kmail2] [Bug 359058] New: Regression: Drag-n-drop of (Image-)URLs from Chromium does not work in kMail 5.0.x any more

2016-02-06 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359058

Bug ID: 359058
Summary: Regression: Drag-n-drop of (Image-)URLs from Chromium
does not work in kMail 5.0.x any more
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.1
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@customcdrom.de

If I drag and drop images from Chromium to the kMail editor, the mouse cursor
will indicate that the image could be dropped, but if I drop it, nothing
happens.

I would expect the image to be added as an attachment.

Likewise, if I copy the URL and paste it into the message editor, I get a popup
menu asking if the URL should be pasted as text or the referenced file be added
as an attachment. If a chose "Add file as an attachment", also nothing happens.

I would also expect the referenced file to be added as an attachment - just as
the text in the popup menu says...

I know there was a similar bug for pasting the URL as text IIRC which was
actually caused by a bug in the underlying Qt libs and was fixed using a
workaround. Unfortunately, I was not able to find this bug again.

Possibly, this bug's cause is related and the "attach URL" code would need a
similar workaround?

Reproducible: Always

those versions from the drop down list...

In KDE 4.13 and below, the IMAP sync performance was always great!

The first appeared in KDE 4.14, has been around ever since and even seems to
get worse rather than better.

[kmail2] [Bug 359063] New: Plain text version of html-only message is not respecting encoding specified in html message

2016-02-06 Thread Martin Kostolný via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359063

Bug ID: 359063
Summary: Plain text version of html-only message is not
respecting encoding specified in html message
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: clearmar...@zoho.com

When reading html-only messages (usually created in MS Exchange) in plain text
mode they are showed with incorrect encoding. Switching to html-view encoding
is used and text correctly displayed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have kmail with stock settings (no preferring html messages)
2. Recieve html-only message with encoding different from UTF-8

Actual Results:
Message characters are displayed incorrectly (with some question mark like
characters) - e.g. for czech specific characters

Expected Results:
Message should be displayed using encoding specified in incoming html.

When replying in plaintext the message is attached inline correctly (no
question marks) so the only problem is just displaying incoming message.

I have Plasma 5.5.4, KF 5.18, KDE Apps 15.12.1, Qt 5.5.1, (KMail 5.1.1)
