Also happens for me in Applications 16.04.0 / Qt 5.5.1. The interesting bit: No
matter how often I retry to type in the name, via select+overwrite, it does not
work. If I use backspace to remove all but the first character, then type
again, it does not work. Only if I use backspace to get back to 'position 0'
does it then spawn the auto-completion popup as I begin to type again.

[kdepim] [Bug 362599] New: Some kmail filters are not applied

2016-05-02 Thread Hatto Von Hatzfeld via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362599

Bug ID: 362599
Summary: Some kmail filters are not applied
   Product: kdepim
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: ha...@salesianer.de

Created attachment 98750
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=98750=edit
Bash script used to repair a broken filter set

Using the copy function in kmail dialogue causes some filters not to be applied
afterwards.

Steps to reproduce the bug:
- open the kmail filter dialogue
- create a simple filter "test one", which marks a mail as ham if the subject
contains "This is test one"
- click the copy button, rename the new filter as "test two" and changed the
search pattern to "This is test two"
- close the kmail filter dialogue by "OK"
- open the filter protocol, make this function show _all_ details
- right click on any mail to apply "test one"
- right click on the same mail to apply "test two"

Result: Both filters use the same pattern

Expected result: Each of the two filters will use its own pattern

I think I have found the reason of this bug and a workaround: Exporting such a
filter set, I find duplicate identifiers in the exported file. When I apply the
script attached below and reimport its result (after having deleted the buggy
filters), the filters do not show the buggy behaviour any more.

My system: OpenSuse 42.1 Leap with kmail 4.14.10 (German)

Tried it, would have been to simple :)

I removed/recreated the kmail config and also tried the following
https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/kdepim/kmail/clean-start-after-a-failed-migration.html
Also tried streaming notifications vs pool every x.y mins.
Still no folders and no luck sadly.

Starting kmail from a console gets the following output:

Can you try to click "Check Mail" in KMail? This should force a full sync and
should populate your folder tree.

Agreed. Perhaps adding a "(optionnal)" tool-tip message?

Same is true, a tooltip or auto-complete with what you username maybe based on
your email would be nice.

Under evolution I manually entered my "autodiscover" URL then hit get URL and
it fills up the URL OAB field automatically.

In this case I manually entered the EWS URL and hit Try connect.. Which i found
simpler to evolution as the user don't really care about the underlying UUID
type OAB URL. Although a connection successful may be appropriate? It ended
up not adding any folder within kmail for the new account (maybie a bug related
to kmail and totally unrelated to your new feature, will further investigate?).
Although from the subscription tab I can select my various folders and as
well, it says "ready" under it in the reception tab.

It's sad that it blocks over tiny details as I'd rather provide you with
comments on the real stuff :)

I'll reinitiate my kmail config as it may have older configs stuck? and give it
another try.

I agree that some sites do not require it, but nevertheless I think that hiding
it behind some checkbox would be more confusing.

Server autodiscovery relies on resolving an address based on your e-mail
domain. Sometimes this won't as the autodiscovery service is not available
(this is the case with my corporate account). In such case you can uncheck the
"Server Autodiscovery" checkbox and enter the EWS URL manually. It should be
something like: https://yourdomain.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx

[kmail2] [Bug 78629] MS Exchange mail support

2016-05-02 Thread Vincent Fortier via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78629

I gave it a try. I had not played with KDE since around a year so I had to
play a little with my installation in order to get things working as is seems
there is a bug blocking plasma to startup properly with 16.04.

For other who might be interested (not entirely related to this thread...):
sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:kubuntu-ppa/staging-misc
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -y install plasma-desktop kde-l10n-fr

Then getting your package installed:
wget
https://github.com/KrissN/akonadi-ews/releases/download/v0.8.0/akonadi-ews_0.8.0-1_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i akonadi-ews_0.8.0-1_amd64.deb
sudo apt-get install -f

Then finally kontact ready:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -y install kontact kleopatra

Once all set I was able to login into KDE/plasma and launch kontact and get
things going.

Now, the real thing! A few comments:
- The domain box should be optional and thus perhaps a click on/off be
appropriate
- I think same should be true for the username: in my case there are no
username except my email user... again, by default it may be more appropriate
to auto-fill that box with the name section of the email address with a on/off
to edit manually?
- server auto-discovery failed to work... In my case I use an internal
auto-discovery URL that I have to specify manually. My understanding of the
interface is that it tries to auto-discover "online" but I cannot assign an
auto-discovery URL manually?

End-result: sadly as-is I wasn't able to get access to my inbox through EWS.

Lastly, hopefully at some point full support for calendar along with contacts &
task will be made available!

Thnx for finally trying to close this gap within the KDE suite, it is really
much appreciated and I look forward at trying later versions!

[Akonadi] [Bug 362580] New: akonadi server crashes when recreating the MySQL akonadi database

2016-05-02 Thread Christoph Pospiech via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362580

Bug ID: 362580
Summary: akonadi server crashes when recreating the MySQL
akonadi database
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 16.04
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: server
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: pospiech...@t-online.de

The akonadi database is maintained on a external MySQL server
(/usr/sbin/mysqld).
The error occurs after upgrading to Kubuntu 16.04, which includes upgrading
mysql-server-5.6 to mysql-server-5.7 . Assuming the akonadi database schema has
changed, I tried to drop the database and recreate it. This crashed when
attempting to create the table PimItemTable.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. akonadictl stop
2. mysql -h localhost -u akonadi -p
3. mysql> drop database if exists akonadi;
4. akonadictl start

Actual Results:
"CREATE TABLE PimItemTable (id BIGINT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY, rev
INTEGER NOT NULL DEFAULT 0, remoteId VARBINARY(255), remoteRevision
VARBINARY(255), gid VARBINARY(255), collectionId BIGINT, mimeTypeId BIGINT,
datetime TIMESTAMP DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, atime TIMESTAMP, dirty BOOL, size

Unable to initialize database.

terminating connection threads
stopping db process
Failed to remove runtime connection config file
Application 'akonadiserver' exited normally...

Expected Results:
PimItemTable should be created along with all other tables and akonadi server
should run.

Work around:
After recreating the above crash, execute the following SQL statements on the
mysql command prompt.
Then redo "akonadictl start".
mysql> use akonadi;
Reading table information for completion of table and column names
You can turn off this feature to get a quicker startup with -A

Database changed
mysql> CREATE TABLE PimItemTable (id BIGINT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY
KEY, rev INTEGER NOT NULL DEFAULT 0, remoteId VARBINARY(255), remoteRevision
VARBINARY(255), gid VARBINARY(255), collectionId BIGINT, mimeTypeId BIGINT,
datetime TIMESTAMP DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, atime TIMESTAMP DEFAULT
CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, dirty BOOL, size BIGINT NOT NULL DEFAULT 0, FOREIGN KEY
(collectionId) REFERENCES CollectionTable(id) ON UPDATE CASCADE ON DELETE
CASCADE, FOREIGN KEY (mimeTypeId) REFERENCES MimeTypeTable(id) ON UPDATE
CASCADE ON DELETE RESTRICT)  COLLATE=utf8_general_ci DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8;
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.02 sec)

This is the same SQL statement as in the "Actual Results" tab above, but
"DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP" added after "atime TIMESTAMP".

2016-05-02 Thread via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 362579
Summary: Segfault when selecting multiple adresses from contact

   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.1.3
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Application: kmail (5.1.3)

Qt Version: 5.5.1
Operating System: Linux 4.4.0-21-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I have a adress list in KAdressbook. This list contains 7 adresses. In KMail I
wanted to write an e-mail to all of them. I ...

* opened Kmail,
* typed CTRL-N to open a new mail,
* closed my custom editor gvim (if thats important),
* clicked on 'Add' to open my adress book,
* clicked on the first entry of that list,
* scrolled down a bit,
* hold down shift and clicked on the last item of that list.

Immediatly after that KMail crashes. It seems as if that segfault occours also
if I select only normal contacts.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[kmail2] [Bug 360963] Select identity and "From" automatically on reply in dependence of the answered mail.

Simple user here.

I am using multiple "account+project@domain" addresses. For some folders I have
"use default identity" selected as sender in the folder properties, for others
a project specific one.

But the setting mentioned before is only relevant when writing a new message.
When I am answering an e-mail to "account+project123@domain" KMail
automatically selects the identity associated with that e-mail address
including From, BCC and Organization headers. Only when there is no identity
configured for that specific address it selects the default one. (This really
great support for multiple accounts and identities is one of the many reasons I
still use KMail despite akonadi ;-D. )

So perhaps I am overlooking something or my version (KMail 5.2.0) got something
fixed which wasn't yet fixed in your version?
