[kmail2] [Bug 311184] Everlasting "Please wait while the message is transferred"

2016-05-26 Thread Martin Steigerwald via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=311184

--- Comment #8 from Martin Steigerwald  ---
Johannes, thank you for the imformation. Please report a new bug tough in order
to have it being free of old and outdated information about an unmaintained
release of KDEPIM.

Also explain exactly what you are seeing there. What does "intermittently"
mean? I am not seeing this message much anymore and if so just for a few
seconds, but I also tuned my MySQL config. Can you make out in which situations
it happens?

So if you care, please report a new bug. Feel free to set me on Cc. Thanks,
Martin

[kmail2] [Bug 363539] New: kmail sometimes does not store/update on IMAP server

2016-05-26 Thread Erik Quaeghebeur via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363539

Bug ID: 363539
   Summary: kmail sometimes does not store/update on IMAP server
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.14.10
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@equaeghe.nospammail.net

Sometimes, kmail does not store or update messages on the IMAP server. Namely,
often when I compose and submit a message, it is saved to sent-mail folder in
the local akonadi database, but does not actually appear on the server
(verified using other clients such as webmail). In the akonadi database, the
message then has no ‘Remote ID’ (which I guess corresponds with its IMAP UID).
The workaround I use is to move it to another account and back. Also, flag
updates such as marking \SEEN is not propagated to the server. The workaround I
use is to unmark \SEEN and mark \SEEN again.

This does not happen with all accounts, but specifically with accounts on a
Dovecot server. So it may be a server bug (unlikely, as other clients do not
have this problem) or a bug triggered in the interaction with this server's
specific set of capabilities:

IMAP4REV1
LITERAL+
SASL-IR
LOGIN-REFERRALS
ID
ENABLE
IDLE
SORT
SORT=DISPLAY
THREAD=REFERENCES
THREAD=REFS
MULTIAPPEND
UNSELECT
CHILDREN
NAMESPACE
UIDPLUS
LIST-EXTENDED
I18NLEVEL=1
CONDSTORE
QRESYNC
ESEARCH
ESORT
SEARCHRES
WITHIN
CONTEXT=SEARCH
LIST-STATUS
SPECIAL-USE
QUOTA

In any case, whatever the reason, for the case that the message is not actually
submitted to the server, kmail (or the responsible backend) has enough
information to just resubmit, because it needs to fill in the ‘Remote ID’/IMAP
UID. For the flag change, modseqs could be used to check.

Reproducible: Always

[kmail2] [Bug 363559] New: kmail is calling wrong browser by clicking on linkl in mail

2016-05-26 Thread Hans-J . Ullrich via KDE Bugzilla

Dear maintainers,
I have the problem, that kmail wants to call iceweasel, when clicking on a link
in an email. As there is now firefox, iceweasel is a dead link. However, where
can I choose in kmail, which browser shall be connected with a link in an
email, when I have opera, konqueror, firefox or whatever installed?

Thank you very much for your help.

Best

Hans

[kdepimlibs] [Bug 363561] New: Feature request: IMAP extension blacklist

KMail's IMAP backend is known for its fragility. Some IMAP servers cause more
problems than others. So one thing could be that some extensions are not
supported very robustly. It could be very helpful for users to try and work
around issues they experience to provide an option to blacklist certain
extensions in the ‘Advanced’ IMAP resource settings.

Many SMTPs allow to send emails to adresses with a '+'-separated addition: e.g.
if I have the account: f...@example.com people can also send me mails to
foo+...@example.com.

Unfortunately the automatic key selector does not (always?) find a key to
foo+...@example.com even if there is one for f...@example.com

It's not a kmail bug.
You need to look at in system settings -> default application
(Sorry I didn't know name of module in kde 4.14 I use kf5 5.3)
