https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371047

Bug ID: 371047
Summary: Edit contact doesn't show location
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: 5.3.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@drek.nl

Version: 16.08.1.
When I edit a contact, the location(s) isn't shown. You can add a location and
it will be added (visible as you finished editing). But you can't edit a
location, because it isn't visible while editing.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Edit a contact.
2. Go to the location tab.
3. There is no location shown.

Actual Results:
No location(s) shown.

Expected Results:
Show location(s).

This worked in previous version 16.08.0.

[kaddressbook] [Bug 365800] Since I moved to Kubuntu 16.04, kaddressbook crashes.

2016-10-17 Thread Ilpo Kantonen via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365800

I checked my contacts with Vcard validator
https://l0b0.wordpress.com/2009/12/25/vcard-parser-and-validator/

For example there were errors like this:
Mandatory property missing (See RFC 2426 section 5 for details): FN <- very
often occurred
Invalid date (See RFC 2425 section 5.8.4 for date syntax)

I think that the errors are from contacts which are added long time since this
day. Maybe there are some format modifications, which old data doesn't fit?

Thus I think KDE should follow the standards.

[kmail2] [Bug 336205] kmail2 crashes after startup and all windows was opened

2016-10-17 Thread Thiago Jung Bauermann via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336205

--- Comment #15 from Thiago Jung Bauermann ---
The problem magically went away for me after I performed the following steps:

1. Opened Akonadi Console
2. Selected the "Local Folders" resource (akonadi_maildir_resource_0)
3. Selected "Configure ... → Configure Natively ..."
4. Closed the configuration dialog without changing anything
5. Selected "Configure ... → Configure Remotely ..."
6. Closed the configuration dialog without changing anything

The first time I started KMail after doing the above, the "Local Folders"
account had just the "Postausgang" and "Versendete Nachrichten" folders.
I closed and opened KMail again and now all folders are there.

Weird...

I runned kaddressbook in gdb. I use binary Kubuntu 16.04.1 and gdb don't help
very much but this maybe helps little to find the bug. The bug can be in
isValid function?

The backports ppa doesn't provide debug info for all packages, so some of the
libraries in the backtrace don't have debug info. Sorry about that. Still, it
does have a fair amount of detail.

The line:

strikes to me as odd. Could the problem be that KMail is looking for a folder
using a translated string when it should be using a literal "Trash" instead?

I am also getting this error and this crash. I'll attach the debug output and
the backtrace.

I started running into this problem after trying to send an email via an SMTP
server which uses an untrusted TLS certificate. I think this confused KMail
beyond repair.

Not to mention that the dialog asking whether I wanted to use that certificate
was created under KMail's window and I only saw it after KMail crashed...

I'm using Kubuntu's backport ppa on Kubuntu 16.04.1 LTS:

Exact same bug for me on Kubuntu 16.10 64bits on two different computers (one
on a fresh install and the other from kubuntu 16.04 upgrade to 16.10)
Same message in the terminal when triing to launch kontact

Tried to uninstall/install kontact, akonadi, mysql... and deleting .kde,
.local, .config with no results

So for me kontact suite is completely unusable on newest kubuntu

There are several empty lines which are not supposed to be there.

Reproducible: Always

[kmail2] [Bug 369072] Regression kMail 5.3.x: Plain-text quoting display is messed up

In more detail: The mail is currently displayed as follows:

This does not really make sense and you still cannot determine that "Text Level
3" is an answer to "Text Level 2", but "Text Level 4" is not, and you also
cannot determine that "Text Level 2" belongs to the introduction line from
"21:00:44" and "Text Level 3" belongs to the introduction line from "21:01:11".

You cannot even easily see that "Text Level 2" and 3 are quoted but "Text Level
4" is not. (Except possibly due to font face and color, if configured
accordingly, which is applied correctly.)

It should look as follows however to make clear which part belongs to what and
what part is an answer to which:

Unfortunately, the quoted parts still do not look correctly. You still cannot
determine the context / quoting levels.

I've switched to Manjaro-Linux.
In meantime, i've switched to Thunderbird, because I don't wan't the overhead
of akonadi in KDE anymore.
What shouly I say, Thunderbird just works. I do not regret to switch.

[kaddressbook] [Bug 365800] Since I moved to Kubuntu 16.04, kaddressbook crashes.

2016-10-17 Thread Hans-Peter Guggenbichler via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365800

I did this:

rm -r ~/.local/share/akonadi
rm -r ~/.config/akonadi
rm -r ~/.kde/share/apps/nepomuk
rm -r ~/.kde/share/apps/akonadi_nepomuk_feeder

rm -r ~/.kde/share/config/nepomuk*
rm -r ~/.kde/share/config/akona*

I don't know, if this still is the correct way to do it, because I worked this
out a few months (years??) ago. But it did the job this time. If you want to be
shure to hit all the akonadi related stuff, just do a find in your home
directory for akonadi.
Akonadi stores info about your emails, mainboxes, contacts, ... in its own
databases. By removing these databases you don't remove your emails, contacts,
... Thats why you emails disappeared in kmail. akonadi first had to crawl your
file system and search for all the information and build its database. Once
this jas finished, your emails reappeared in kmail.
When I wiped akonadi, I recognized, that some config got lost, unfortunately.
So I had to use akonadiconsole to restart the Birthday agent, the Local
Contacts agent. And I had to reconfig the pop3 account in kmail. So you have
to have a close look at your system after removing the akonadi files. Until
now, I've lost no information afer removing akonadi, fingers crossed.
