[kmail2] [Bug 373040] Stop line wrapping long links

2017-03-13 Thread William L . Thomson Jr .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373040

Turning off word wrap does stop this bug then text is also not wrapped. Ideally
any time a line starts with http or www, etc or anything matching a URL per
regex should disable line wrapping for that line.

That way you can leave word wrapping on, but links will not be wrapped. And/or
wrap links in way that they show wrapped visually, but actual text is not
wrapped when sent. Either way.

[Akonadi] [Bug 377399] kontact loses imap connections constantly

This happened another 3 or 4 times today. Is there any troubleshooting
information you might want? Sometimes it segfaults, sometimes the front-end
just cannot communicate at all.

[kontact] [Bug 377590] New: kontact mail is unresponsive

2017-03-13 Thread Steve
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377590

Bug ID: 377590
   Summary: kontact mail is unresponsive
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: mail
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: sgr...@redhat.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Sometimes I delete emails, it says moved to trash but they are still in my
inbox. Clicking on mail causes it to say its getting the email but it never
does. I restart kontact many, many times to get it to work. Its like the front
end and the back end cannot communicate reliably. And...there is no message on
the front end that gives any message about what might be wrong so that I can
report a proper error to you. Please increase the verbosity of error
information so I can give you information about what's wrong.

I use Fedora 25 and have updated my system also on 27.02.2017. KMail,
KMail-libs but also akonadi and pim packages were included. My subfolders have
disappeared after the update. They are still stored in .local/share/local-mail
folders, but can not be imported. Not as plaintext, not as archive file.

[Akonadi] [Bug 339093] under kmail 4.14.0, mail filtering randomly stops working

2017-03-13 Thread Maurice Batey
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339093

> ...screwed up all my folders

Well, screwed up *access* to the folders, which are still all there in my
/mail Maildir directory, but Kmail itself is showing a skeleton Inbox/Sent etc
structure - empty of emails - instead!

[If I pass the /mail directory to Kmail on another installation, they display
normally there, so obviously there is some Kmail control function that is
failing to display the true email database in /mail on the old system..
Still trying to figure out what/where that is...]

Before doing this I highly recommend you backup your email data.

(On Kmail 4.14.5 it screwed up all my folders; still trying to receover...)

[Akonadi] [Bug 377553] regression: error dialog when server can not be reached

2017-03-13 Thread Martin Koller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377553

you disagree with that's annoying to dismiss a dialog every 5 minutes because
I'm in a network which does not allow to reach a POP server ?
Then why don't you disagree with the fact that this seems only be done with
POP, but not with IMAP or WebDav ?
If that information is now so super important (why was it not that important in
the last few versions?), then at least please use a passive notification
instead of the disturbing dialog I need to click at.

[Akonadi] [Bug 339093] under kmail 4.14.0, mail filtering randomly stops working

2017-03-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339093

Some other interesting behaviour I've noticed here...

When I have problems with the mail filtering not working any longer, the
following procedure manages to get things running smoothly again:

1) Close/quit KMail
2) Stop Akonadi, with "akonadictl stop". Necessary as both KMail+Akonadi are
stuck waiting on something.
3) Restart Akonadi, with "akonadictl start"
4) Open "akonadiconsole"
5) Use the "Browse" tab to go to my Inbox, then right-click on the folder and
select "Clear Akonadi Cache".
6) Close "akonadiconsole"
7) Start KMail; all good now!

The "Clear Akonadi Cache" also seems to resolve all sorts of other problems
that I've bumped into w.r.t. KMail/Akonadi stalling out while trying to fetch
messages from Akonadi, as well as issues with duplicate messages in folders.

In version 5.4.2 this behaviour has now changed. The message is still never
displayed, but at least KMail does not hang, and if I open the message and
select "View Source" I can view the entire message (and it loads very quickly).
Nothing I can do, however, makes it display in the preview window or by opening
the message, except when viewing the message source.

I've updated to KDE 16.12.3 (from 16.08) and now kmail no longer uses my
contacts for deciding to show a mail as HTML or not.
I get mails from an internal bugtracker in HTML format and I selected the
sender address already multiple times and checked "show HTML when mail comes
from this contact"
I find this exact address also already 3 times in kaddressbook (local contacts
folder) but kmail refuses to apply this setting

[Akonadi] [Bug 377553] New: regression: error dialog when server can not be reached

2017-03-13 Thread Martin Koller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377553

Bug ID: 377553
Summary: regression: error dialog when server can not be
reached
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.13
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: POP3 Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: kol...@aon.at
CC: aa...@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Since the latest update (openSuse 42.2 updated to latest KDE, now using
16.12.3)
the POP resource (I assume) shows a dialog whenever the POP Server can not be
contacted - which is here always the case when
- I use the company VPN
- I'm inside the company network, which blocks outgoing POP port requests

The dialog shows:
"Unable to login to the server securemail.a1.net.
Timeout on server
securemail.a1.net: Socket operation timed out"

In previous KDE Version (16.08) no error dialog was thrown at the user, and the
problem was silently ignored in the background.

Please restore the previous behavior. A background resource should not throw a
dialog onto the user but behave silent in this case.
It should simply retry and it will be successful again when the network is
again reachable.
