- Kontact is looking for the library in /usr/bin instead of /usr/lib
- The problem happens in wayland
- The problem happens if I launched separate components like kmail or akregator

~> kontact
Using Wayland-EGL

The issue was that the email addresses of all attendees were fine individually,
but they got smudged together into one string (separated by commas), which made
something further down the stream trip.

While I understand that the referenced commit adds better error reporting, the
problem itself (some part communicating the attendee email addresses in a
format that the next component in line does not understand / reject, while
sending out the invitations) does not seem to be fixed.

if the users think the email address is just fine, then the bug is with the

Looking at the commit, I wonder whether it really addresses the "multiple
attendees result in a broken event" problem. Can you please confirm that?

Judging from comment #1 and comment #3, the issue appears to have been multiple
people in the list of attendees would be joined them together into one attendee
at some point in the pipeline. Hence the validation function would complain
that an email address may not contain a comma, which might be a legit
complaint, but was not actually input by me like that.

[Akonadi] [Bug 388484] New: Enable IMAP subscriptions other than mail in KDE applications

2018-01-03 Thread Metko
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388484

Bug ID: 388484
Summary: Enable IMAP subscriptions other than mail in KDE
applications
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 5.7.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
  Assignee: chrig...@fastmail.fm
  Reporter: metkome...@gmail.com
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Besides email, IMAP accounts frequently offer calendars, contacts, notes etc.
Wouldn't it be great if these subscriptions would be accessible in the
corresponding KDE applications, i.e. korganizer, kontact, kjots/knotes?

For example, I'm using the OSX notes app to store notes in my IMAP account.
Whereas I can see those notes in kmail, there is no way to add or modify them
in KDE. A natural approach would be to use kjots, but unfortunately the akonadi
resource does not show up there.

I tried to setup a kmail IMAP account that links to my gmail account. No matter
which options I choose during the configuration, it invariably hangs showring
the message "Schlüssel wir überprüft. Das kann einen Moment dauern". In
particular I tried:
- to disable PGP encryption and publishing the key
- generating a new key or using an existing one
- enabled "less secure apps" in my gmail account
- to configure the IMAP account manually, i.e. not using the service discovery
Any ideas what else to try?
