[Akonadi] [Bug 389670] New: CalDav crash when deleting altered instance of recurring event

2018-01-30 Thread Max Pixel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389670

Bug ID: 389670
Summary: CalDav crash when deleting altered instance of
recurring event
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 5.5.2
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: DAV Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@m-pixel.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: akonadi_davgroupware_resource (5.5.2)

Qt Version: 5.6.2
Frameworks Version: 5.32.0
Operating System: Linux 4.4.112-2.gaf1ac1a-default x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE Leap 42.3"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
1. I added a new CalDAV account (Fastmail to be exact)
2. I explored the interface, and added a journal entry to see how that worked
3. I assigned colors to a few of the calendars
4. I selected an event from the Week view; this event was an instance of a
recurring series, one which I had modified to be on a Wednesday at 10am instead
of the usual Tuesday at 9am
5. I pressed the delete key. A confirmation dialog appeared, asking if I was
sure that I wanted to delete the event. I thought it was strange that it didn't
ask me if I wanted to delete the whole series, or just the one occurrence, but
I went ahead and allowed it.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
Immediately after confirming the deletion, a notification appeared regarding a
CalDAV related service crashing. Then, the event reappeared as its typical
Tuesday @ 9am.

[Akonadi] [Bug 389662] New: clearing cache removes messages from message list

2018-01-30 Thread Ian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389662

Bug ID: 389662
Summary: clearing cache removes messages from message list
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: akonadiconsole
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: i...@zti.co.za
  Target Milestone: ---

[I] kde-apps/akonadiconsole
 Available versions: (5) 17.08.3 ~17.12.1
   {debug +handbook}
 Installed versions: 17.08.3(5)(22:16:32 24/01/2018)(handbook -debug)

In order to deal with issues like kmaill not opning messages, or dupplicate
messages, or inability to delete messages, I would fire up akonadiconsole and
clear the cache on the relevant folder. Restarting kmail would then rebuild
that folder and it would behave for a while.

However after recent upgrade to kmail Version 5.6.3, the folder list is not
rebuilt, but the messages are still in folder on disk.

I have been unable to find out how to force a rebuild which happened
automatically in the past. I need these messages, I have other folders with
issues but can't risk them disappearing from view...

Thanks, Ian

it is tring to transfer the message from or to.

Previous bug report about this says it is a nepomuk issue, I'm not using

On previous version this issue sometimes showed up, but would then work as
expected after restarting Kmail, or in some cases, restarting KDE.

However since upgrading to Version 5.6.3, the auto-filtering is permanently
broken, and above steps no longer fix it.

Using Gentoo, all mail is POP3.

I get a lot of fail2ban mail which really needs to be filtered to its own
folder...
Thanks, Ian

[kmail2] [Bug 377521] regression: system tray icon no longer shows number of new mails

2018-01-30 Thread Éric Brunet
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377521

It would be great to re-enable for everybody the number of unread mails on the
icon. This is such an obvious feature! When I look at my phone, I have the
number of missed calls, the number of SMS and the number of emails on the icons
of the respective apps.

I am not sure what as the problem with High dpi displays, but I did run into a
difficulty when writing the patch: kmail needs to know the size of the icon. It
obtains a size with

 const int overlaySize = IconSize(KIconLoader::Panel);

but it is not the correct size. I don't know what is the correct way of
querying plasma to obtain the size of the icons in the SystemTray. But I am
sure it is possible and that the High dpi case can be fixed. If needed, I am
willing to help, and I am also willing to answer bug reports for this feature.

   ||to disk, they arrive empty,
   ||losing all the mails.
 Status|UNCONFIRMED |CONFIRMED

OK, I think I can fully reproduce the problem now and have found its reason:

Steps to reproduce
--
1) Create a KMail archive, it should contain a folder ("somedir") and some
subfolders and sufficiently many emails (in my case, a total of 700 emails was
enough).
2) Create a target maildir directory, e.g. "target"
3) Import the archive into a folder, e.g. "imported"
4) Shortly after the import has finished, move the imported folders, e.g.
"imported/somedir" to "target".

Expected result
---
1) The moved folders should have an identical content compared to the archive's
source.

Actual result
-
1) Some, or all, of the emails are missing.

Workaround
--
1) Wait until the folder structure on the file system exists and has been
populated. This can be checked e.g. by watching the output of:

find ~/.local/share/akonadi_maildir_resource_0/.imported.directory/ -type f |
wc -l

2) Only when the number looks reasonable and does not change any more, start
moving the folder.

Notes
-
Since in this case, the bug only happens after importing mails, maybe the
severity can be downgraded, because no data is lost as long as the archive is
still available and the problem has been noticed soon enough.

A small addition: I was able to reproduce this by moving a single folder (which
contains subfolders) to a different location in the same maildir structure:

-+-A
 |
 +-B
   +-C
 +-D

Here I was trying to move C into A so that the structure would look like this:

-+-A
 | +-C
 | +-D
 |
 +-B

In the folder overview D looked as if it had still a large number of unread
mails, but when I entered the folder, the number of unread mails was reset to
zero and the folder was empty.

I'd like to confirm that this symptom still exists in recent KMail2. I have
seen my accounts (with IMAP on Gmail) run into tens of thousands percent every
now and then. For example, by entering into Kontact -> Configure Kontact ->
Mail -> Accounts, one account shows "Syncing folder 'Inbox' (266500%)".

After clicking "Modify..." but doing nothing and just clicking "Ok" or
"Cancel", it turns to "Ready" after a splashing of some texts.

This was also mentioned in a post in forms.kde.org by Dan Vrátil (progdan).

This looks like: https://dev.gnupg.org/T3507

There was a possible keyring corruption that could happen on fresh
installations of Gpg4win-3.0.0 and 3.0.1.

Please shut down kleopatra and then move away the folder %APPDATA%\gnupg and
try again. With a fresh directory and Gpg4win-3.0.3 it should work fine.

I'm marking it here as "needsinfo fixed" because I think it was fixed with the
fix for T3507. Please leave a comment if moving away your gnupg homedir dir not
help.

I have Kleo on my old laptop (runs Win 10) which has worked perfectly fine
without a hitch. I now have a new laptop and I am trying to import my existing
keys onto my new system (again Win 10) however everytime I try to import it
goes through the same process and ends up telling me "Secret Keys NOT Imported:
1" (see screenshot 1)

No matter what options I check when exporting my keys from my old machine the
files that I get just simply won't import- same message everytime.

Alright, I think. Maybe I'll just create a brand new key altogether and update
others to the new public key. However, everytime I create a new key pair it
runs through the process as if everything is just fine and when it comes time
to create a backup of my newly generated key pair I get the message "Invalid
UserID" (see screenshot 2) and then the keypair simply doesn't show up under
my list of certificates in Kleopatra as if I never clicked the Create New Pair
button. Kleo simply brings me right back to the Welcome page saying to begin I
need to either Import or Create a New Key (screenshot 3)

I read on forum that perhaps I should try using GPA instead to create the key.
Whenever I open GPA I get the error "GPGME library returned an unexpected
error. This could be an installation error" (screenshot 4) and once again any
attempts at importing/creating keys are futile. I've fresh installed the
newest version (3.0.3) and every other version going back to 3.0.0 to see if
maybe there's an issue with the current update but nope, each fresh install
gives me the exact same errors every time.

I'm beginning to suspect it's not a bug with your software but some background
process on my machine that is prohibiting a successful install but I've no idea
what it could be. Running the .exe installation as an Admin doesn't help.

I've also ran the self-test to check for errors but everything appears to be
fine as per screenshot 5.

Please if you've any idea on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated!

[kmail2] [Bug 389638] New: When moving several maildir folders, some arrive empty, losing all the mails.

2018-01-30 Thread quazgar

Bug ID: 389638
Summary: When moving several maildir folders, some arrive
empty, losing all the mails.
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.6.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: commands and actions
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: quaz...@posteo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

I recently tried to migrate a large maildir structure from one machine to
another, by creating an archive first on one machine and then importing the
archive on the other. The import, into a temporary "imported" folder, seemed
to have worked alright.

I then tried to move the imported folders to their new destination. This
worked fine for the first two folders, so I got a bit carefree and
drag-n-dropped several folders to their new locations before the old moving
operation had finished.

A few hours later I checked back in and found that the process seemed to have
finished, but some of the subfolders (at their new locations) were completely
empty, the messages were gone, seemingly both from the database (not showing up
in KMail) and from the file system (the respective maildir folders were empty).

Not sure if this is related to bug #322697.

KMail: 5.6.3
Qt: 5.9.2
KDE Frameworks: 5.37.0
(all installed as 17.08.3 on Debian testing)
