So posting here to report as possible bug. Or maybe someone else has run into this and knows what is going on. I'm running Kaddressbook 5.9.1 (App version 18.08). Kontact and Kmail are the same versions. My contacts are showing this in the email fields: Contact Name If I edit the contact, it will just revert the next time it syncs. I've tried removing the addressbook and re-adding, clearing the Akonadi cache, I've tried akonadictl fsck. Nothing seems to change the contact display. When I open kaddressbook through CLI, the only error I get is this: QIODevice::read (QLocalSocket): device not open -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398835 Bug ID: 398835 Summary: "Mark Thread Read" working as and when it feels like Product: kmail2 Version: 5.9.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: commands and actions Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: bingmyb...@btinternet.com Target Milestone: --- Sometimes it works fine 100% of the time in one session and sometimes it'll work intermittently in one session and sometimes not at all in one session. My workflow is, all emails into the inbox and then Ctrl-a and "Apply Filters" to "Local Folders". I then open each folder to read the "unreads" and if a thread exists i don't need to read, i will then click on the thread and press "Mark Thread Read" and usually it works fine. This is what happens when it doesn't work properly. After pressing the button, there appears to be no action i.e. all unread emails still "blue" and the folder unread count is the same but if i click on another email in the same thread, the unread count sometimes goes down as expected but the unread emails are still displayed as unread. opensuse:tumbleweed:20180917 Qt: 5.11.1 KDE Frameworks: 5.49.0 - KDE Plasma: 5.13.5 - kwin 5.13.5 kmail2 5.9.1 - akonadiserver 5.9.1 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
[Akonadi] [Bug 393280] Repeated entries of 'Executing search "kontact-476707713-SearchSession"' in Akonadi log
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393280 Daniel Vrátil changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED CC||dvra...@kde.org Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #3 from Daniel Vrátil --- Whenever something changes in Akonadi we need to re-run persistent search queries to update the content of the "Search" folders in KMail, because currently there's no other way to figure out whether the new email matches the search filter or not (it's not run on every single change, but it is scheduled to run in about a second after the first change). If the query affects many collections or has many results (like in your case, 10219), it can hinder the performance. A workaround is to remove the persistent search folders from KMail (which sucks, I know...) Proper fix, of course, is for me to figure out how to match a single email against the search query so we can evaluate it on per-email basis instead of having to re-run the entire search query every time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
