[Akonadi] [Bug 435090] New: No error is reported when the SSL handshake fails

2021-03-28 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435090

Bug ID: 435090
Summary: No error is reported when the SSL handshake fails
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 5.16.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m_loui...@yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Two of the IMAP servers I need to use for work use old, insecure TLS versions
that are rejected by the default OpenSSL configuration on Ubuntu 20.04. This is
a good thing and I would like to keep the configuration as it is as much as
possible.

QSslSocket emits errorOccurred(QAbstractSocket::SslHandshakeFailedError) and
immediately closes the socket. The sslErrors() list is not populated.

Upon encountering this, the IMAP resource simply tries to connect again --
endlessly it seems. It should instead provide a hint that there was an SSL
error.

See https://askubuntu.com/a/1233456 for a discussion of the OpenSSL
configuration issue in Debian/Ubuntu.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Find a super outdated IMAP server.
2. Configure KMail to connect to it.

OBSERVED RESULT

The resource appears connected but the account doesn't appear in KMail. In
fact, it can open a socket but initiating encryption fails. New connections are
attempted in a busy loop, which can potentially trigger a temporary ban.

EXPECTED RESULT

The resource reports a failure and doesn't attempt to connect more than N
times.

Marking as needs info based on my comment.

If that does "fix" it please move to xembedsniproxy in plasmashell and reopen.

[korganizer] [Bug 435054] New: Deletion of single instances of recurring events in Google Calendar is not reflected in Korganizer

2021-03-28 Thread Kishore Gopalakrishnan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435054

Bug ID: 435054
Summary: Deletion of single instances of recurring events in
Google Calendar is not reflected in Korganizer
   Product: korganizer
   Version: 5.16.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: groupware
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: kishor...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When a single occurrence of a recurring event is deleted through the Google
Calendar web interface, that occurrence still shows up in Korganizer. This
persists even after I force synchronization (right click> synchronize >
synchronize all) of the 'Google Groupware' component through Akonadi Console.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a weekly recurring event in Korganizer, choosing Google Calendar as
the calendar resource.
2. Go to the Google calendar web interface [ https://calendar.google.com ], and
delete only a single occurrence of the recurring event (it will provide this
option when you try to delete the event).

OBSERVED RESULT
The single occurrence that you chose to delete disappears from the Google
calendar web interface, but that particular occurrence is still shown in
Korganizer. The occurrence also gets deleted on my phone, so this doesn't seem
to be a bug in Google calendar.

EXPECTED RESULT
When a single occurrence of a recurring event is deleted in another device, it
should also be deleted in Korganizer.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Korganizer version (shown in help > About Korganizer): 5.16.3 (20.12.3)
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.10.24-1-lts

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Deleting non-recurring events or deleting all occurrences of a recurring event
works as expected.

[Akonadi] [Bug 418910] When Event Not found it stop fetching

This time, while removing my calendar, akonadi erased my entire professional
calendar on the server. This means I can't use this alpha software anymore.
I've been patient for the past 20 years, but the devs around kdepim really did
not get it to work seriously. While KDEPIM was a charm in KDE3, they totally
wrecked it. I will have to switch to evolution. So I close this bug and I
recommend everyone to abandon kontact like the devs have abandoned it long ago.
