[korganizer] [Bug 483822] New: 23.08.2 -> 24.02 upgrade: all caldav calenders use now a new colors in the views

2024-03-17 Thread Achim Bohnet
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483822

Bug ID: 483822
Summary: 23.08.2 -> 24.02 upgrade: all caldav calenders use now
a new colors in the views
Classification: Applications
   Product: korganizer
   Version: 5.14.0
  Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: a...@mpe.mpg.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
After upgrading kde neon user to the new Mega release and starting korganizer
6.0.0, every calendar (nextcloud caldav) uses now a different color (same in
all views). Before 24.02 all calendars used the default color as defined by
the caldav (nextcloud) server.

merkuro in 24.02 , Thunderbird and Apple Mail, still uses the default caldav
server color as I did expect.

I could also not find a setting that allows me to reset the calendar colors to
the caldav server default color

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
* start korganizer 6.0.0

OBSERVED RESULT

Each view is using a 'new' color compared to qt5 based korganizer versions.
And no longer the default calendar colors from the caldav server.
(Merkuro, Thunderbird, Apple Calendar still use the caldav server colors)

EXPECTED RESULT

Use the same color as for the calendar a the caldav server

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: neon user
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0
Qt Version: 6.6.2

NextCloud 27.0.6
NC Calender App: 4.6.6

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I've found nothing in settings that allows me to 'reset' color usage to the
calendar color given by the caldav server.
Additionally a [Default] button in the Color Picker for calendar colors did not
exist.

   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.14.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: a...@mpe.mpg.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Starting with KDE Apps 20.04 update: after every resume a dialog is shown
asking:

The mail dispatcher is offline, so mails cannot be sent. Do you want to
make it online?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. start kmail
2. suspend laptop
3. resume laptop

OBSERVED RESULT
Dialog pops up asking if I want to turn the mail dispatcher on

EXPECTED RESULT
No dialog after resume. Dispatcher was on before suspend, so it should be on
after resume. No need to ask.

Please change the default (back to): don't ask, turn dispatcher on after resume
if it was on before suspend.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

KMail Version 5.14.0 (20.04.0)
KDE Frameworks 5.69.0
Qt 5.14.2 (built against 5.14.1)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I can use 'do not ask again' to turn off the dialog in the future, but IMHO
no new or existing user should ever be 'forced' to do this after a
suspend/resume cycle. The dialog does not follow IMHO the 'least surprise'
principle.

but akonadiconsole 'Browser' tab does not list the above IDs when one selects
collection 223.

I've identified collection 223 via tab 'DB Browser' -> collection table:

223 was one (out of four) calendars of a caldav resource (owncloud).

Above look method works usually fine with E-mails without RID.

I've experienced the bug, but with mysql not postgres, on an almost daily basis
with all 18.12.* release aka 5.10.* . (I use KDE Neon User)

With 18.12.* I've seen again after a long time the multiple merge candidate
bugs and
suddenly had duzends of items with "no RID". (5.10 almost drive me crazy.) I
always assumed that those problems trigger the "mysql server not stopped by
'akonadictl stop'". So I'm not astonished that the bug is to reproducable for
everyone.

IMHO you should bump the "version" of this bug from 5.6.1 to 5.10.3.

akonadi 5.10.3 (version listed in bugzilla)

SUMMARY: unfortunately due to massive problems with akonadi in the last weeks
(multiple merge candidate, several sync of same collection ~ 30 sec) I had to
fallback to use thunderbird someties -> ~ doubling the # of IMAP collections.
This triggers akonadi 'Informational' dialog:

... A02 NO Maximum number of connections from user+IP exceeded (
mail_max_userip_connections=10 ) [ UNAVAILABLE  ]

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. start several akonadi sessions/thunderbirds/macmail... in parallel (laptop,
desktop, vbox ...)
2. when 'N' the max # of imap connection on the imap server is reached:
3. duzends of informational akonadi dialogs appear that grap focus

OBSERVED RESULT
* a new dialog appear (every few seconds a new one). I had 23 of them
* they needlessly grab be focus -> e.g. kicker and krunner are closed
* After ~ 15 min the latest dialog starts to grab the focus as soon another
window is aktivated. (only workaround is to close all the dialogs)

EXPECTED RESULT
* Only one dialog instead of a two duzend dialogs.
* As it's only informational there no need to grab the focus
* prefered would be one standard Plasma notification instead of a dialog window

To reproduce:

a)
* open a blog and increase scaling with Ctrl-+
* goto next message
=> Regression: scaling is not remembered

b)
* Use Ctrl-+ again
=> Bug: now the scaling is like you pressed Ctrl-+ twice
* Press Ctrl-- and blog looks like at the beginning + one Ctrl-+ (good)

So when switching blogs scaling is not remembered (a) but due to (b) somehow
the internally book keeping remembers it nevertheless so another Ctrl-+ doubles
the scaling.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381919

Next go:

The DFN CA and MPG CA in the chain of my personal zertificate as the Issuers:
a) DN: CN=DFN-Verein PCA Global - G01,OU=DFN-PKI,O=DFN-Verein,C=DE
b) DN: CN=MPG CA,O=Max-Planck-Gesellschaft,C=DE

There are 2 certificates in my pubring matching the string (a) and (b)
(well, (a) matches 3 but one is revoked) both of them are valid until Jul 2019.

The two variants differ in that the older one uses SHA1 (valid since ~ 2006/7)
as the hash algorithm and the other uses SHA256 (valid since 2014).

I've deleted the SHA1 variant of DFN CA - G01 and(!) MPG CA - G01 and now
the kmail accepts E-Mail signed by me as valid. I can even sent e-mails
signed by me, without disabling CRL checks in kmail settings. Yeah!

So my cert has an IssuerString MPG CA ... matching an SHA1 cert and SHA256
cert. DITTO for the MPG CA ... cert itself that has the DFN issuer value
mathing also 2 valid cert (one SHA1 one SHA256).

So AFAIU the problematic spot is:
  4 - 2018-06-15 09:31:02 gpgsm[14885]: DBG: chan_10 <- INQUIRE SENDCERT
/CN=DFN-Verein PCA Global - G01,OU=DFN-PKI,O=DFN-Verein,C=DE

  4 - 2018-06-15 09:31:02 gpgsm[14885]: DBG: chan_404 <- BYE

gpgsm is 2.1.11-6ubuntu2.1 and kmail is v18.04.1 (from 16.04/Neon User with
5.13)

So my conclusion is FWIW: the DN is not unique, so 2 matches are found. (Ditto
for the DFN CA G01) and validating signatures and sending of signed/encryped
Mail in kmail fails.

What confuses me is that Thunderbird on the same system does not complain.
Maybe kmail should use Subject instead DN? Or thunderbird is buggy or ... well
I don't know.

[akregator] [Bug 394469] akregator does not (always) scale pictures in blogs

2018-05-21 Thread Achim Bohnet
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394469

Hi Christophe,
I think the problem is a bit more complex
 * Technically I sure you are right, but when you have a look at the web page
of the blog, you see that the image is resized when you e.g. shrink the width.
That's something one can not achie ve with an image of a fixed (smaller)size.
 * From the point of view of a article reader, the internal webview missbehaves
 * From the point of view of an article creator the article looks perfectly
well in the browser and on kde.planet.

AFAIU it now, the problem is that the 'subpage' specified by the Blog feed does
not contain the HTML code to restrict the blog to the page width as in the full
webpage version.

As a workaround IMHO it may make perfect sense for akregator and is therefore
desireable to wrap the article in whatever HTML code to restrict image width to
page width as it's used by planet.kde.org and the original web page, This
makes the pictures behave 'as expected' by users and authors.

This is based on my risk estimations that 'broken' authoring tools are much
more common than people that really want to embbed really huge images. And the
HTML generated by the blogging software still prevents that.

Educating every blog author to work around fragile authoring tools, which seems
to be the real culprit, is not manageable. Fixing the authoring tools/software

Maybe as an option per feed? Without GUI to test it?

Cheers,
Achim

 3) laod the same posting from 1) in falkon/chromium/firefox from the other web
page

Result:
akregator shows the images full/much bigger size.
Expected result:
akregator in 1) scales the images to page width as done for 2) and 3)

FWIW:
 * :-) the images the posting 'Plasma 5.13 beta' in KDE Dots news are
perferctly scaled in akregator.
 * :-( Looks like all the popular 'Usability & ...' postings from Nate have
broken image scaling in akregator
 * :-( Group Pic in 'The Akademy 2018 program is now available' from Paul Brown
is also not scaled, so it's not only Nate Posting ;-)

So looks like some html scaling methods work in akregator's buildin browser.
Some other do not.

With Neon User on my laptop and desktop: kmail accesses via imap and dovecot
server the same account. Both kmail instances have only the 4 bogofilter rules
generated by the antispam wizard.

When both kmail instances are running and I receive a new e-mail, the same
e-mail is listed multiple times in the msg listview and akonadi scans the inbox
again and again. Each scan ~ 4 sec and CPU fan kicks in because akonadi
consumes lot of CPU. The scan loop stops after more than one or two duzend
scans (guess). The mesg list view shows 2 times the same unread msg. This
happens on both the laptop and desktop in parallel.

After each scan the msg switches most of the time between listed twice and four
time. Sometimes it's listed 3 times. When it eventually after 1 -2 minutes
ends I see the new msg listed twice.

At the same time the unread mail count changes again and again in kmail/inbox,
thunderbold, K9-Mailon Android and Apple Mail and I can enjoy lots of
notification sounds ;-)

When I disable the all rules (=4 bogofilter rules) on the laptop. I don't see
the duplicates but nevertheless my laptop does one complete sync the inbox as
shown in the msgbox in the lower right of kmail which takes ~ 4 sec.

I've seen this in the past already (> year) but most of the time I used
bogofilter filter rules only on the desktop host.

Hi Allen,
I can confirm that when you change some RGB values it works.

But when you use the procedure I described it's not saved.
(I just wanted to save my current set of color that I use)
I assume it's due to the fact that the color is not changed.
I only added, to the custom palette. so I guess an
  oldcolor == newcolor then return
test is done before a writeconfig() of the custom palette

When I tried to display the problematic calendar with korganizer 5.7.0
it did not crash anymore. Maybe it's somehow fixed in korgianizer or
moving events with thunderbird to another calendar fixed it.

Now signature validation works and I could even send for the first time signed

This confirms my suspect from comment 8, that the problem is with an older
revoked Certificate of MPG CA. So somehow either kleopatra or kmail fails to
handle this case properly.

I wish I could remember how and where I once found the info about the revoked

I can't reproduce anymore on KDE Neon User (based on ubuntu 16.04):

gpg -K and gpgsm -K do not hang. Their version (2.1.11-6ubuntu2) is still the
as at the time I reported the bug, but kleopatra was updated from 2.3 to now
3.0.1.

It also works on Kubuntu 17.10 (artful artvaard):

It has gpg(sm) 2.1.15. gpg -K and gpgsm -K do not hang. kleopatra is 2.3 (KDE
apps 17.04)

So maybe your fix made kleopatra work with old buggy gpg 2.1.11 and newer gpg
2.1.15 works even with old kleopatra 2.3.

Thx!

After a long time I started kleopatra again from system tray menu 'Status &
Notifications' and the kleopatra window was shown without a menubar.

I've tried the 'standard?' shortcuts Ctrl-M and Ctrl-Shift-M. Still no menu.
I could not find a way in the UI to get the menu back.

Hack:
 * quit kleopatra
 * vi ~/.config/kleopatrarc and remove [MainWindow] MenuBar=disabled (AFAIR)
 * start kleopatra
-> Menubar was shown again.

Now I searched in the Menues how to disable the menubar to find the short-cut
key to get it back. Nothing :-( I still have no idea how the menubar
was disabled.

Proposed possible solutions:
1) ignore the bug, because I can not reproduce the 'menubar somehow suddenly
magically hidden) and trust people to find with
google this bug report to get their menu back

2) With disabled menubar, add somewhere a popupmenu that shows the items of the
menubar as a menu (like e.g. dolphin, firefox and chrome*)

3) Add a Settings -> Show Menubar (Ctrl-(shift)-M) as in e.g. konsole, kmail
and kmail-composer (for implementation example see
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38256262)

FWIW: My favorite would be 3)

Weird. It's a kde neon user edition and reboot/logout when KDE pkgs are
updated.
Of course there is a timespan between: update packages and reboot/logout.

I'll wait for the next occurance of the problem and check what's written
to the logs at that time.

I give up. I thought I once saw that the MPG CA had a valid and a revoked

(but I can't find it anymore :-( ) Maybe that's the reason for the failure
but I've no clue how to prove it :-(

Bug ID: 385052
Summary: Cannot connect to the Akonadi service

Status: UNCONFIRMED

Since 17.08 I often get:

Since 17.08 this happens more or less several times per day even on weekends,
when I don't touch my computer at work.

I have this problem on all three KDE neon user systems, that I use.
Unfortunately I've not notices/found a rule how to trigger the bug.
Any hint appreciated.

[korganizer] [Bug 384075] korganizer crashes when selecting a calendar to be shown in agenda/day/week/month view (regression 17.08.*)

2017-09-17 Thread Achim Bohnet

I've exported the problemetic caldav Calendar folder with Thunderbird and
imported it with korganizer 5.6.1 into a new Calendar.

=> Loading the ics calendar worked without problem and I could move in the
aganda view forward and backfard in time.

Bug: after I exited korganizer and tried to start it again -> Crash.

WORDAROUND: I've removed the viewing of the imported calendar in korganizerrc
GlobalCollationSelection and korganizer start again.

Bug: selecting the newly created imported-calendar -> Crash.

Tried in 5.6.1 aka 17.04.1: korganizer crashes when selecting a calendar not
only in agandaview but also in all other views:
 * day
 * week
 * month

This calendar always worked before the 17.08 release without crashing
korganizer.

Other onwcloud dav resources continue to work without problems.

[korganizer] [Bug 384075] korganizer crashes on startup

2017-08-30 Thread Achim Bohnet
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384075

I've found out, that korganizer crashes, when I select the calendar 'work' (aka
arbeiten in german) so that the events are displayed . ('work' is one of 3
calendars and 2 addressbooks in a owncloud dav resource.) There no output on
the konsole between selecting the calendar 'work' and the crash.

With a fresh user of in KDE neon dev stable installation, I've started
korganizer and added the owncloud resource. So here is the output of
korganizer when I configured the owncloud dav resource. Maybe this helps:

vcs example file

reproduced again with KDE Neon Stable (korganizer 5.6.* bugfix branch): Bug
still there.

Further: I've deleted all but the first event from the vcalout.vcs created by
korganizer (attached) and tried to File -> Import -> Import calendar -> [merge
into existing calendar] and bug:

An error occurred: Failed to load ical file, check permissions

korganizer writes to konsole:

   org.kde.pim.kcalcore: Exception while importing:7
"Failed to load ical file, check permissions"

Permission of the file are 664 (according to the default umask)

Ups, misleading report :-(

I connected with caldav resource to owncloud but export & import I did with
korganizer: korganizer could not import it's own exported format.

Hi Allen, korganizer crashes on all (3) my machines at the moment
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384075 . So I can't export anything :-(

AFAIR I selected a simple Event exported it and tried to import it again.
Nothing special with the event. As soon as korganizer works again, I
append an event.

Thx

Thx, Allen!! I've my menu back :-)

Nevertheless IMHO, that's not 'obvious' for the average desktop/pim user.
So a shortcut + menu entry would be very welcome.

Thx again Allen and all PIMsters for all your work!

Summary: Hidden menu in kmail composer: no (obvious?) way to
get it back (or hide it)
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.5.2
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: a...@mpe.mpg.de
  Target Milestone: ---

KDE neon user edition: 5.5.3: For whatever reason the menu in the my kmail
composer is hidden. Now there no obvious way to get it back:

 * Crtl-M, or Ctrl--M does not work (shift,alt,super)
 * No RMB Menu has such an action.
 * I've created a new user: kmail composer has menu, but I've found no way
to hide the menu. I've expected to get a hint how to undo when hidding.

Expected Behaviour:

* Ctrl-Shift-M  hide/shows menu (I guess Ctrl-M is in use by the input/text
fields, so ctrl-shift has to be used like in konsole)
* A menu item in Settings to show/hide menu like in kmail main window.

Achim

P.S. in b.k.o kmail version 5.5.3 is not in the list of available versions.
Hint hint ;-)
P.P.S I assume that menu was hidden when switching the global menu: menu
plasmoid, window title and application, I'll file a new report when I can
reproduce how to hide the menu

[kmail2] [Bug 382089] New: Selecting several Msg: delete or move from A to B does not remove msgs from listing of A

Bug ID: 382089
Summary: Selecting several Msg: delete or move from A to B does
not remove msgs from listing of A
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.5.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: a...@mpe.mpg.de
  Target Milestone: ---

kde neon user systems with kmail 5.5.*: (bug is on my laptop and desktop)

* select *several* messages in the message list of folder A (I used
shift-click)
* move them to folder B (or delete them)
=> Messages are still shown in msg list of A

Expected result: Msgs are not shown anymore in msg list of A

Additional Info:

* When I goto folder B the moved Msgs are listed there. (Good)
* When I now go back to folder A to Msg are still listed there. (Bad)
* I can try to select and move/delete them again: List listed in A (Bad)
* When I exit & start kmail again, the Msg are no longer listed in A. (Good)

So it looks like everything works fine, except that the Msg list entries are
not remove from the listing of folder A.

Note: with single msg. Delete and move works as expected, bug is only with
several msg at once.

Verified with 5.5.2 KDE Neon. Again: new error message when import -> 'Import

An error occurred: Failed to load ical file, check permissions

Weired! Importing a vcs and it complains about ical. Either the error msg
is confusing or only ical calendars can be imported. But then menu item
should be 'import ICAL Calendar' and vcs files should no be shown in the file
dialog.

Apple Mail marks signed mail from our coorporate members, with 'MPG CA' in
chain as okay. Nobody complains on the our List about broken signartues. (I
bet all OS & MTA Agents combinations are used to read those mails)

Look like kmail fails to update the CRL of 'MPG CA'. Maybe that's the
signature check failure reason? At least I've found other signed mail with
same 1st&2nd level CAs but different 3rd level CA, that is successfully
verified.

Attachments:

1) s_mine_signed.mbox: mail signed with my key. (With 'MPG CA' as 3rd level
CA)

3) smime-good-sig-check.log: watchgnupg log of a mail with a successully

Once, when I started kleopatra, a dialog was shown that asked me if I want to
trust the root cert for signing user certs. Only the CN was displayed no
finger print or a 'more ..' button that would point to more detailed key info.

Because the kleopatra window was not visible yet, it was a question that could
not
decided at this moment, if the root key was really the one at:
https://www.pki.dfn.de/wurzelzertifikate/globalroot/#c15065

Please add 'finger print' or 'Detail ..' or whatever way to allows to verify
that
the cert is really trustworth.

I have no smart card reader. Installing scdaemon results in 'ERR 100663404
Kartenfehler' (en: card error) every 2 seconds. IMHO that's a bug:

Expected (at least by me) display an error notification once and stop
retrying.
Avoiding needless CPU cycles and 'flooding' the log output.

[kleopatra] [Bug 378775] New: kleopatra: search ignores the 'Name' entry of x509 certificats, fails to match '-' and does not show hits in collapsed x509 chains

2017-04-14 Thread Achim Bohnet
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378775

Bug ID: 378775
Summary: kleopatra: search ignores the 'Name' entry of x509
certificats, fails to match '-' and does not show hits
in collapsed x509 chains
   Product: kleopatra
   Version: 2.3.0
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: aheine...@intevation.de
  Reporter: a...@mpe.mpg.de
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, m...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 105023
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=105023&action=edit
example data set used in bug description

Attached screenshot is used to illustrate the bugs:

1) Search for my name 'achim' only shows the opengpg keys, not the my x509 key
Should list x509 key too. Searching for 'Telekom' finds nothing.

2) Search for mpg-ca should match due to the e-mail of 'MPG CA' in my
cerificate chain. Bug: search result is empty.

3) By default X509 chains are not expanded, only the Root cert is shown. If I
search for something that matches in the X509 trust chain, the chain is not
expanded to show the matching entry.

[kleopatra] [Bug 378774] New: kleopatra selftest for scdaemon: does not work or is not complete (endless retry to start scdaemon every 2 sec)

kwatchgnupg screenshot &

KDE Neon User distro:

Despite the fact that scdaemon is not install on my system, the selftest for
scdaemon passes and Kwatchgnupg lists endlessly every 2 seconds a failing
connection attempt to /usr/lib/gnupg2/scdaemon (see screenshot)

That is kleopatra fails is expected because the scdaemon is not installed:

# LC_ALL=C ll /usr/lib/gnupg2/scdaemon
ls: cannot access '/usr/lib/gnupg2/scdaemon': No such file or directory
# LC_ALL=C dpkg -l scdaemon
dpkg-query: no packages found matching scdaemon
# LC_ALL=C apt search scdaemon
Sorting... Done
Full Text Search... Done
scdaemon/xenial 2.1.11-6ubuntu2 amd64
GNU privacy guard - smart card support

Expected Result:
 1) scdaemon selftest fails and kleopatra
 2) should not retrying again and again every two seconds to connect to
connect to scdaemon, but display an error msg or error notification

P.S. FWIW: would be useful if the text in kwhatchgnupg could be selected for
cut & paste instead of save as, kate, select, cut&pase a text fragment into
the bug report
