Steps to repeat: How I got to the issue: Open Kmail > Settings > Add Account > Enter Email address and password with "Find provider settings on the Internet" checked > Reviewed IMAP settings and clicked "Next" When doing these steps I see a very brief message that is gone before I can read it, I think it says something about looking up the settings, and then nothing happens except the Next button is clickable again. [kmail2] [Bug 464695] New: New feature (?): get Message-ID or path/name of message with right click
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464695 Bug ID: 464695 Summary: New feature (?): get Message-ID or path/name of message with right click Classification: Applications Product: kmail2 Version: 5.22.1 Platform: openSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: commands and actions Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: cookie...@web.de Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I'm actually doing my work with kmail: Questions are coming in via e-mail. I'm using org-mode (https://orgmode.org/) to organize everything. It would be very helpful to put a link into my org-file to the e-mail which I received or wrote on that topic. This does not depend on Emacs or org-mode: Anybody who uses e-mails for work will need, at least once in a while, a way to link to such an e-mail. As of today, it is rather difficult to have any link to a specific e-mail. kmail neither makes the message-ID available, nor the path to the email (which may change from new to cur). The possible solution is discussed in this thread here: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-orgmode/2023-01/msg00698.html There has been a suggestion to use URI sheme "mid:", but if that idea from 1998 is the smartest thing to implement in 2023? However, probably a solution would be very useful for many users. [frameworks-syndication] [Bug 436288] New: Wrong indentation in pre-formatted html content (5.78 regression)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=436288 Bug ID: 436288 Summary: Wrong indentation in pre-formatted html content (5.78 regression) Product: frameworks-syndication Version: 5.80.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: alex.mil...@gmx.de Target Milestone: --- Since commit 9a54df8b ("Port away from deprecated QXmlInputSource"), syndication changes the indentation of lines that start with a tag in the html content of a feed item. That doesn't matter in most places, but it's a problem where whitespace should be preserved, like in a block or a tag with style="white-space:pre". As a result, after upgrading from frameworks 5.77 to 5.80, newly fetched articles of a feed that regularly uses pre-formatted content with additional markup are shown with wrongly indented lines in akregator, while old, archived articles still render correctly. Reverting the commit mentioned above fixes the problem. A small made-up example to illustrate the problem: If an article contains line 1 line 2 line 3 then several spaces will be added in front of line 2, which is wrong. The offending commit should be reverted and then the deprecated method may be replaced with a different solution that doesn't cause regressions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[Akonadi] [Bug 404990] Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404990 --- Comment #98 from Alexander Potashev --- I have a idea for workaround. For the context, read carefully: https://developers.google.com/gmail/api/auth/about-auth It mentions verification of *public* applications. Google permits usage of Google APIs without app verification unless you application is published. For example, I use my own little script for automated processing of some specific types of emails that I receive daily on my Gmail address - Google doesn't care about verification in this case because it's my personal app. So, what if we let KMail users create their "applications" at Google API Console [1] and force KMail to use the new app token instead of the KMail's official token? This sounds like an abuse Google APIs at first, but we can view this as if the user forked KMail and created a new app token for it since their "forked" version of KMail is now personal application. To make this workaround easy to employ, we need to un-hardcode the Akonadi's Google app ID and put it in a configuration file. At the moment it is hardcoded as https://github.com/KDE/kdepim-runtime/search?q=554041944266 - in these two files: - resources/google/common/googlesettings.cpp - resources/imap/gmailpasswordrequester.cpp [1] https://console.developers.google.com/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

Please add a clear option TLS: yes, starttls, starttls (optional), no where I can be sure that I will use TLS when using "yes" or "starttls". I got an invitation ICS file from Cisco WebEx via KMail and as there was no option to accept like there is in thunderbird/lightning So I tried to open and import it. It showed as beeing imported and the akonadi console show it but it is not displayed and I had no option to accept the event. Is there a workaround for this except editing the backend file? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

The strange thing is that the event is there if I check with Akonadi Console. I'm on the "latest" Kontact/Korganizer Version 5.7.0. I'm currently not at liberty to share the .ics file, but I added a Screenshot. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
